Enjoy the peace, the fresh air, and walks with your dog – entirely at your own pace. In the Little Time-Out, you get a lot of vacation for your money. That’s why it’s also a good choice for solo travelers.
The Little Time-Out – your retreat for relaxing days in the Hochsauerland. As soon as you enter the holiday apartment, you will feel the bright, friendly atmosphere: light-filled windows, warm wood, and loving color accents create a place to feel good. In the evening, the pellet stove provides cozy hours while you reflect on your day in nature – making every moment a little holiday happiness.
The private, fenced garden with a separate front door gives a sense of independence and privacy. On the beautiful barbecue terrace, you can enjoy mild summer evenings, while sun loungers on the lawn invite you to relaxing hours. Only a few steps separate you from forest, meadows, and fields, and countless hiking trails begin right outside your front door – lovingly compiled for you in the house folder.
The rustic extension with many windows is almost like a small conservatory and offers plenty of storage space for shoes, jackets, dog leash, and in winter also for skis and ski boots. From the small inner hallway you enter the newly renovated bathroom (2024) with walk-in shower, the well-equipped kitchen, and the spacious living and sleeping area. The comfortable 1.60 m wide box spring bed promises restful sleep, and the sofa can also be pulled out into a 1.60 m wide bed. This is not just about a holiday apartment – it’s about moments that belong to you: long walks with your dog, quiet hours by the pellet stove, mild summer evenings in the garden, and the good feeling of having arrived. In the “Kleine Auszeit” you will find everything that truly makes a holiday unforgettable.

My beautiful feel-good holiday homes and feel-good holiday apartments are located in the heart of the Rothaar Mountains in 59939 Olsberg-Elleringhausen. Countless hiking opportunities start at the front door and are lovingly described in the house folder.
From the living rooms and terraces, there is a beautiful panoramic view of the natural monument Bruchhauser Steine. Right outside the front door, green forests and lush fields await you. Breathe in the fresh mountain air deeply and let yourself be enchanted by the unique scent of the forest.
If you’re in the mood for a bit more hustle and bustle, you’ll find everything gastronomy and tourism have to offer in the neighboring towns of Willingen (11 km) and Winterberg (20 km). By the way, the shops here are also open almost every Sunday.
Dogs love to cool off in the many small mountain streams that run through the forest everywhere. My guests like to go swimming at the Diemelsee, which is 25 minutes away by car, where even the hottest days can be enjoyed by both dog and human at the beautiful serviced dog beach. The stunning Silbersee, located in the middle of the forest, is also always worth a walk of about 1.5 hours.
My guests can find wellness at the Sauerlandtherme AQUA Olsberg, 7 km away, the Lagunenbad Willingen (11 km), and of course in the in-house wellness area with sauna, shower, forest sofa, and beach chair. Guests with children and teenagers love a visit to the Fort Fun amusement park (20 km), where dogs are also welcome and have free admission. In winter, my wooden sleds are available as decoration or for borrowing at the houses, and anyone who likes can race down the meadow opposite the houses.
In many neighboring villages, charming little Christmas markets are set up, some of which continue beyond the holidays, enticing visitors with wintry scents and festive lights. Cutting your own Christmas tree, which is offered here and there, is also popular.

| 30,- € is the basic annual price for 2 persons per night. A visitor's tax does not accrue with us, because we are more than 7 km away from the village centre. During the holidays the basic price is 35,- € and on special holidays even more. The ER we calculate with once with 50,- € and for a dog once 10,- € per stay. You are welcome to bring your own towels and bed linen or book them for 15,- € per person. Just send us your desired period if you are interested. We will be happy to compile all costs and send you a non-binding offer. |

Despite a very well-equipped kitchen, there is of course no obligation to cook for yourself every day. In my leisure suggestions you will find my personal tips for eating out in particularly cozy restaurants, where you will not experience any unpleasant surprises. A great alternative is the inexpensive home-style cooking from the local butcher Neumann, which is offered fresh daily. The pizza delivery services are also very familiar with the address of the Häuser am Wald. The bread roll taxi will hang a fragrant bag on your front door at the weekend upon request.
Especially popular with my guests is the large breakfast buffet here in the village at Hotel Haus Keuthen, where dogs are also welcome. Perhaps during your holiday you would also like to sit at a fragrant, set coffee table after a short walk.
I will tell you about well-maintained swimming pools and beautiful bathing lakes nearby and have put together a list of suggestions for younger children. For dog owners, there is a page with all information and emergency addresses. There is a competent veterinarian here in the village.
Teenagers especially love the Skywalk Willingen, the climbing forest, the tubing track, and my free Wi-Fi. At every bed, there are two USB ports with a phone shelf.

great vacation apartment, great landlady, great surroundings
For just under a week, I was with my dog in the Studio/Haus am Wald. We were warmly welcomed by the landlady. The accommodation is very clean, comfortable and modern. We lacked nothing. The studio has its own small garden with a barbecue and garden furniture. There we could have breakfast and also end the evening. Just a few steps from the holiday apartment, you enter the forest directly. We started several hikes from there. Tips for hiking trails and the surroundings are available in the holiday apartment. We will come back, that is beyond question!

Super schön
It's a shame that the vacation in our second home always ends so quickly. It's so beautiful here. The holiday homes are furnished with a lot of love and detail and leave nothing to be desired in terms of amenities. We will come back!

Sehr gemütliches Studio
We stayed at Studio Wiesengrund over New Year's 2019/2020. We really liked the cozy studio with the comfortable fireplace. Our dog could romp in the snow in the garden and go on extensive walks with us in the forest from there. It's especially nice that the studio has a separate entrance and fenced garden. We have recovered well and enjoyed our time here. We also really appreciate spending New Year's holiday here, as it is much calmer for our furry friend with the New Year's fireworks compared to the city. We always love to come back.

Small, but nice apartment
The apartments at Haus am Wald Sauerland come highly recommended. We (2 adults and 1 dog) stayed there for almost a week and had a great time.
The apartment is furnished with great attention to detail, and the folders with travel tips in the area were also very nice.
When we can travel again, we will definitely come back.
