Strass im Zillertal
Our vacation began right upon our arrival in Strass; we immediately fell in love with the sight of the beautiful house. The outdoor area is very well-maintained, the location is a dream, and we received a warm welcome from the Leitner family. Our delight increased even more when we opened the door to our vacation apartment. We were greeted by tastefully and lovingly decorated bright, spotless rooms that made us feel at home immediately. We lacked nothing; you could really feel how much love and dedication went into furnishing and equipping the apartment. Strass itself is nestled idyllically in the beautiful Zillertal, from where countless excursion destinations can be quickly reached by Zillertalbahn/bus, by car, or by bike. The recommendations from our host family were also helpful, which we gratefully implemented. The farewell was not easy for us, but we will cherish the wonderful time at Kichelerhof for a long time, wish the Leitner family all the best, and are already looking forward to seeing them again.

Everything worked out so wonderfully. The Jochriem family is so friendly. We felt really comfortable. The house had so much charm. It was very clean and smelled so nice of Swiss pine. Outside, the outdoor seating under the fruit trees with the wonderful view and the smell of fresh hay. The veranda is sheltered from the wind and you can hear the fountain in front of the house gurgling so soothingly. The house is on the more beautiful side of the valley. Great sunsets every evening. Many thanks to our hosts. We will be very happy to come back.

The church in Ramsau - also known under the name "Ramsauer Kirchl" - attracts attention from afar. The simple building in the classical style was built in 1841 and consecrated in 1843. The highlight of the Ramsau church is the picture of the "Sorrowful Mother of God", which adorns the wall above the high altar. Since it was renovated in 1997, it has shone in new splendor. The old house of the Strasser farmers in Mayrhofen is nostalgic, steeped in history and full of tradition. For it was here that the Strasser children lived, who made the Christmas carol "Silent Night, Holy Night" famous all over the world with their concerts. When you enter the house, you are transported back to the time 300 years ago. The entire house - inside with the small parlors, outside with smoke-blackened beams and tiny window shutters - gives an insight into the rural life of the farmers and the history of the Strasser children.
Zillertal is located in the west of Austria. Unlike other side valleys in Tyrol, Zillertal does not overcome any valley level and only rises slightly from Strass to Mayrhofen.
