It was a wonderful time in this beautiful little house! We always felt very comfortable in this wonderful place in the Alentejo. The cottage stands freely on a small clearing and offers everything necessary for a pleasant stay. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the clean and well-maintained accommodation has a special and unique atmosphere in the midst of the beautiful garden, which resembles more of a small estate. One should have a car since the nearest supermarket is in Aljezur. For those who like sports, you can also easily ride a bike to Arrifana via dirt roads. Overall, it is a perfect place to experience a lot of the area. So, if you want to leave behind the Western standard of a serial accommodation, you will be pleasantly surprised. The cottage is self-built and some installations are improvised, which gives it a special charm that doesn't come across in the photos. We stayed much longer than we originally thought, and even moved to the other cottage, which we can also highly recommend. Special praise goes to the hosting landlords who live around the corner and were available for any concerns. We were even allowed to take fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden, which was a real delight. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back.

In March, we had a lovely holiday at Casa das Varzeas despite the changeable weather. We especially enjoyed the large pool and the great location surrounded by nature. The house is well equipped and provides a good starting point for hikes in the area. We can easily imagine spending our next holiday here as well. The friendly contact with the landlord and the local contact person was pleasant and uncomplicated.
