Our house lies in a quiet, sunny position, with impressive mountain views and offers a sunny terrace, grill corner with chimney BBQ and during the summer months, we have a free bicycle hire.

The scenic footpaths and cycle routes are in close vicinity - as is the Koppenwinkel lake in the nearby Nature Reserve which is a short walk away. About 2km from our house is the Hallstatt lake with its bathing beach, boat hire etc.

Offering impressive views of the Dachstein Mountains, Landhaus Osborne enjoys a quiet location in the scenic village of Obertraun on Lake Hallstatt in the Salzkammergut region. The UNESCO World Heritage town of Hallstatt is just a short drive away. Obertraun is the perfect base for exploring nature's paradise - the Dachstein massif. Take the Dachstein World Heritage Cable Car up to the fascinating Giant Ice Cave or visit the impressive Mammoth Cave. There are also numerous hiking trails up to the Krippenstein and the Dachstein sparkling ice palaces in the mystic depths of the mountain or marvel at the subterranean force of water in the Koppenbrueller caves down in the is an idyllic location in which to escape the stresses and strains of everyday life, all year round. A perfect holiday destination!Relax and un-wind on our lakeside bathing area or on the naturists' beach. Go fishing or embark on a new adventure such as kayaking or has excellent leisure and recreation facilities, including boat hire, opportunities for wild water rafting, fishing, chess, bowling, hunting and indoor shooting. There are open air concerts, many local traditions, evenings of traditional dance and summer festivals. Obertraun has 3 children's Winter, Obertraun is an ideal place to stay for those who enjoy ski tours, as well as freeriders and snowboarders. For those who prefer more gentle snow shoe hiking, you can explore your beautiful, natural surroundings you prefer prepared ski trails, there are 11 km of prepared ski piste from the summit down to the valley, otherwise you can try out some off-piste skiing. Our younger guests will have hours of fun at the "Krippi-Park" where they can learn to ski for the first in the valley there is a wonderful 20 km long cross- country ski trail which passes through the "Koppenwinkl", a Nature Preservation Area renowned for its beauty. Skating is now possible on the trail too, thanks to modern technology.

Landhaus Osborne and Obertraun are the ideal starting points for all explorations of the natural paradise of the Dachstein massif. Starting point for wonderful ski tours for connoisseurs, freeriders and snowboarders. They will find pure adventure here. But also leisurely snowshoe hikers will find a wonderful nature experience here without much effort.
Have you never heard of the Krippenstein and Dachstein West ski areas? We, too, have learned that these are among Austria's best-kept secrets.
