Which sights are there in Mirow?

A remarkable sight is the Mirow Lock as part of the Müritz-Havel Waterway. A lock keeper still operates it manually here. The lock is 6.6 meters wide and 56 meters long. It is also called the "Gate to Müritz" as it connects the small lake district with Müritz and the larger upper lakes. Between April and October, the lock gates open every hour during the day. Along with the rampart, the white Renaissance gatehouse was built in 1558. This was the only access to the island. Next to the church, it is the oldest building in Mirow. The Johanniter Church is a single-nave, Gothic brick building located on the castle island. After a fire in the 18th century, the interior of the church was designed in the Baroque style. It suffered further destruction during the war. Since 1993, the church has had a tower again, which can also be climbed. Or explore the impressive small town of Mirow on your own. The Kulturkosmos association organizes the Fusion Festival at the Rechlin-Lärz Airport. Theater, art, performance art, and a lot of music - culture lovers will get their money's worth here. Twelve former aircraft hangars stand on the site - a very special atmosphere. Spectacular events also take place at Müritz. In the summer, the Müritz Saga is on the program at the open-air stage in Waren. Just a few minutes' walk from the historic city center of Waren, the beautiful setting of the open-air stage on Mühlenberg is located. Idyllic and beautiful - with great theatrical performances with historical themes. In the midst of the Müritz National Park is the Töpferhof Steuer - directly by the lake, not far from the former residence city of Neustrelitz.
