Top accommodation

This holiday home is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your vacation. The location is perfect for exploring the area by bike, on foot, or by car. The house is very quiet, well-maintained, and clean. Communication with the landlord is also very good and has worked perfectly. If there is a problem, the landlord responds very quickly to resolve it. So all in all, highly recommended.

Beautiful

A beautiful log cabin in a prime location. Everything is available that the heart desires. We lacked nothing. From the house, it is only a few minutes to the beach, bakery, or forest. Super clean and cozy furnished. The garden is beautifully landscaped, fenced, and has a sunny spot in every corner. Great for dogs. In a small garden shed, you can find everything else you need: bicycles, grill, drying rack with compartments, many games, garden loungers, and a sun umbrella. My personal favorite spot was the lovely little conservatory with cozy armchairs, where I enjoyed sitting with a good book and winding down the evening. I can recommend this accommodation without reservation and would book it again at any time. Thank you.

Which sights are there in Damp?

Ships, Beach, and Schlei - There's Something for the Whole Family

Damp is a quaint place on the Baltic Sea with about 1,500 inhabitants. A walk through the center of the small village will also automatically lead you to the marina. Here, there are 365 berths for large and small yachts. It's fun to stroll along the long promenade and admire the ships. With Gut Damp, the St. Johannes Foundation including a chapel, and the manor house of Gut Dorotheental, three important cultural monuments of Schleswig-Holstein are also in the immediate vicinity. Between the marina and the Baltic Sea beach, there is also the museum ship Albatros, which has a moving history behind it. It has a viewing platform and a café with a sea view and is a popular wedding location. While there are no wonders of the world to see in Damp, there is all the more natural beauty. The beautiful landscape around the Schlei fjord, which extends more than 40 kilometers inland, is best explored on foot or by bike. In the northernmost and youngest nature park of Schleswig-Holstein, there are diverse nature experience and sports offers such as themed bike trails, hiking trails, and Nordic walking routes. After an exciting day in the fresh air, you can relax either in your cozy vacation apartment, in your quiet holiday home, in the sauna Viking village in the Entdeckerbad Damp, or in the dream spa Mare Mara, one of the most beautiful wellness oases in all of Schleswig-Holstein.

The Baltic Sea is always a great destination for a vacation with children in Schleswig-Holstein. At the nearly four-kilometer-long sandy beach, the whole family will find something to enjoy. Adults can relax in beach chairs enjoying the sea view, engage in sports in or by the water, or simply unwind. The little ones can build sandcastles, splash in the Baltic Sea, or collect shells. In the family-friendly private houses in a quiet location, you also have all the amenities: Most accommodations and A-frame houses not only include a kitchen, refrigerator, washing machine, and Wi-Fi, but also a crib and high chair. If the sun doesn't show itself one day, you and your child are well taken care of at the Entdeckerbad in the Baltic resort of Damp: The adventure children's pool has a yellow submarine that invites exploration and experimentation. If your four-legged friend loves the sea just as much as you do, take them to the dog beach. Here at the numerous dog beaches, loyal companions are unrestrictedly allowed, and your vacation at the Baltic Sea with a dog offers added value for everyone. By the way: If you want to rent a bike to explore the area, you can also often get a child seat or trailer for the dog on request. The region is ideal for excursions, bike rides, and walks between harbors and Baltic Sea beaches. Also consider a trip to Kappeln and Schönhagen or visit the indoor fun park Funhalla not far from your Baltic residence.

Most dining establishments are located in the center along the promenade at the marina. Naturally, fresh fish and seafood directly from the cutter are on the menus, but there are also many other dishes made from regional products. From the restaurant with a sea view to the lobster shack to the harbor dive, Damp has it all. If you prefer to cook in the well-equipped kitchen of your vacation apartment or house, you can enjoy your meal in nice weather on the terrace, on the balcony, or in the garden of your accommodation. The fresh sea air at the Baltic Sea makes you hungry, and therefore a healthy appetite is absolutely allowed! You can also enjoy a sundowner with a romantic view of the harbor.

Following the Trails of the Vikings

Many place names in the vicinity of Damp still indicate that the area was settled by Danes many years ago. Swedish Vikings also left their marks. Haithabu, about 40 kilometers from your accommodation in the Baltic resort of Damp, was one of the most important settlements and trading centers of that time. You can learn the entire history at the Viking Museum Haithabu. It is considered a real institution in Schleswig-Holstein. For regional art and culture, the small town of Eckernförde, just about 20 kilometers away, is also a good destination. If you want to experience the idyllic Damp from its lively side, plan your vacation in the apartment or holiday home during one of the popular events. Visitors from near and far come, for example, to the music festival "POP am Strand" in August and to the Viking spectacle in July. During the summer months, there is also a lot of live music on a small stage in the harbor.
