Great beach location - unfortunately too loud at night

We were four with a small dog in this holiday home in August. The house itself is functionally furnished and is fine so far. The location immediately behind the dunes and only a few steps from the beach is actually excellent. With the now very hot summers, an air conditioning unit would be a sensible investment, as would an awning over the terrace. Many other houses in the complex already have both. The existing sunshade must be moved repeatedly depending on the position of the sun. Unfortunately, there is a significant disadvantage that we would have liked to know before booking: the nighttime noise pollution. During our stay, the deep bass of a large club nearby was particularly audible until the early morning hours. Depending on the wind direction, the noise level varied. In addition, there was music from the nearby ship and occasionally noise from the neighboring arena. Just because the house has no air conditioning and one would like to sleep with the windows open in the height of summer, this was problematic for us. The suggestion to close the windows helps only to a limited extent. A note about this in the description or in earlier reviews would have been very helpful for us. We also liked the immediate surroundings less. Directly next to the holiday resort is an abandoned, increasingly dilapidated facility. Overall, the area seemed somewhat unkempt to us and could not compete with other regions of southern France that we know. The nearby arena, where animals are hunted for entertainment, is also a significant downside for us personally.
Conclusion: The house is fine and the proximity to the beach is wonderful. With air conditioning and an awning, it would be significantly more comfortable. Due to the nighttime noise and the surroundings, we personally would not choose this area as a vacation destination again.

This place has everything you need for a beach vacation: comfortable beds, good wifi, and a nice kitchen. The indoor pool was a great way to relax after a day outside. I would stay there again!

Comfortable and practical! The beds were comfortable and we had enough space for our family of four. The dining options nearby were also a nice surprise.
