Description
Holiday Home-Rest-Island: A modern and very cozy holiday home awaits you, offering 115 sqm of living space. Here, you will definitely spend a comfortable and relaxing vacation with your family.
The holiday home was built with natural materials and from an ecological perspective, and solar panels on the roof save on energy costs.
Free guest WiFi and phone (domestic calls). Pets are not allowed! The holiday home includes a roughly 250 sqm outdoor area that is partly covered and fenced, providing room for relaxation and privacy.

Children under three years stay free of charge at Ruhe-Insel! If you have younger children, the "Ruhe-Insel" is a real find, as the house includes many extras for a carefree holiday with children: -> please read under "additional information" (below)

The ground floor features a spacious living area, with a wood stove for cozy evenings. A bright dining area with a large table, 4 chairs + bench + 3 children's chairs invites you to enjoy, play, and come together. To combat boredom in between: 50 inch Smart TV, Blu-Ray DVD player, new sound system (CD, Bluetooth, Radio, MP3) The integrated kitchen is bright, modern and very well equipped: dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, waist-high oven, ceramic stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, waffle iron, hand mixer. To allow for cooking or evening ventilation without flies and mosquitoes, a kitchen window is equipped with an insect screen frame. In the ground floor bathroom, there is a corner sauna that can accommodate about three people. The bathroom is equipped with: underfloor heating, a shower (massage jet, Kneipp jet...), a sink with a large mirror, toilet, hair dryer, cosmetic mirror, a rolling cart for storage, a children's stool, and a child's toilet seat.
In the entrance area, coat racks and shoe shelves provide ample space for your clothes and shoes. In the utility room, there is a washing machine, a clothes dryer, an iron, and a small ironing board ready for you.
Upstairs, there are four bedrooms. Each bedroom is equipped with a blackout blind, high-quality insect screens on the windows, an alarm clock, and a night light (insect screens are removed in winter). The duvets can be combined individually according to warmth needs. Room 1: two single beds each 100 x 200cm, two dressers, two nightstands, chair, radio CD player, CDs.
Room 2: one double bed 180 x 200 cm with two mattresses each 90 x 200 cm, large dresser, one nightstand, radio CD player, chair.
Room 3: one single bed 100 x 200 cm, dresser and nightstand, child's chair.
Room 4: one double bed 160 x 200 cm with two mattresses each 80 x 200 cm, two dressers, one of which with a mirror, small nightstand, chair. Bed linen and towels can be booked if needed (prices on request, agency service)
In the upstairs corridor, you can store your empty suitcases and place additional garments in the mobile wardrobe as needed. The corridor can be secured at the top with a stair gate.
Another bathroom is located upstairs (underfloor heating, toilet, sink, mirror, bathtub, hair dryer, vanity mirror, rolling cart, children's stool, children's toilet seat). The large garden is enclosed by a Frisian wall, wild roses, and a fence. On the partially covered terrace, garden furniture for 6 people is available (stored in the shed during autumn/winter). On the property, you can park two vehicles free of charge. A large, lockable shed provides ample space for your brought bicycles, scooters, balance bikes, etc.
The house is located in a charming holiday home area in the quiet town of Groß Schwansee on Ahornweg. On the way from the holiday home to the beautiful natural beach (approx. 850 m), you pass by local-style houses, with lovingly landscaped gardens, over a paved country road, where you can enjoy the lake view and the expanse.

Groß Schwansee is an "island of peace", and "something for the eye"! The newly developed, small holiday home areas are nestled in fields and meadows. It is a small, well-kept place with a beautiful natural beach where every holidaymaker can find a quiet spot even in summer.
Mainly sandy beach sections and some stony areas alternate. Children have plenty of space to dig, build castles, collect shells, play ball, fly kites and swim. (Bathing shoes can be useful for children, then they are protected from minor injuries from shells or similar) On the way from the holiday home to the beach (approx. 900 m), you pass pretty houses typical of the village, with lovingly laid out gardens, along a paved field path where you can enjoy the lake view and the wide open spaces.
In Groß Schwansee there are two beautiful playgrounds and a lovely café, the "Cafe Blau". At the end of the village is the elegant hotel complex "Schlossgut Groß Schwansee" with a castle restaurant, brasserie, park and an old linden avenue leading to the beach. Non-hotel guests can also use the hotel's wellness and beauty area (for a fee + by appointment).
From Groß Schwansee you can take great cycling tours towards Travemünde or Boltenhagen. The Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Path runs parallel to the coast and allows wonderful views of the Baltic Sea.
If you want to enjoy the unspoilt nature without the crowds of tourists, like long walks on the beach or simply love the peace and quiet and the sea, this is the right place for you and you will certainly not spend your holiday in Groß Schwansee just once!
If, after so much paradisiacal peace and idyll, you feel like a bit of hustle and bustle and culture, there are numerous ways to pass the time in the surrounding area. Travemünde and Boltenhagen are only about 15 km from the holiday home, Schwerin (about 60 km), the Hanseatic cities of Lübeck and Wismar (about 30 km). Not far from the "Ruhe-Insel" holiday home there are many historic manor houses, castles and churches to explore. A visit to the butterfly park in Klütz, the zoo in Rostock, the tiger park in Dassow or the Stone Age village in Kussow is also an experience for young and old. Extras for holidays with children
All sockets have an integrated child safety lock, and a cooker safety grid ensures safety when cooking. So that each child has its own place at the table, you can use two baby chairs and a raised high chair. Three baby travel cots are available. A bed guard, from approx. 18 months, protects smaller children from falling out of large beds; it is inserted between the slatted frame and mattress and can thus be attached to any bed. Mobile changing table available (foldable). For little "night ghosts" there is a stair gate at the top of the stairs. For nightly visits to the toilet, the distances are short, as there is a bathroom on the upper floor. Stools and children's toilet seats for small children are provided in both bathrooms.
In case of rainy weather or boredom, the children can pass the time with DVDs, books or games (e.g. game collection, animal memory, Who was it, Carcarsonne, Uno, various card games, El Grande, Castle Logix, puzzles, baby toys...). A play carpet is also available.
For long walks, you can choose between a buggy or a large, high-quality trolley for your little ones. In winter, you can use our great sledge with screw-on child seat

Top clean accommodation and upscale facilities
Nothing was missing and we found everything very clean and extremely neat. Very cozy and sophisticatedly furnished! We did many bike tours from here, or simply lay down on the loungers and sunbathed. Highly recommended.

Super child-friendly house!
We (two couples with small children aged 1 1/2 and 1 year) spent a wonderful week on the "Island of Peace". We felt very comfortable from the beginning. The house is beautifully furnished and has everything we needed. Especially in the kitchen, we didn't miss anything at all. The house is also well equipped for children of all ages. Toys for indoor and outdoor play are plentiful.
The beach wagon was a highlight for us and the children, making the way to the nearby beach much easier several times a day! At the beautiful, quiet natural beach, the children could play and dig a lot. We were able to enjoy our holiday to the fullest and would come back to the house anytime! Especially the kind contact with Mrs. Sprungmann remains unforgettable, as this is simply not the norm when booking a holiday home.

Great house with perfect amenities
We were there as a couple for an extended weekend in winter and can only say: The name "Ruhe-Insel" (Island of Tranquility) lives up to its promise! Relaxing walks in the area and then cozying up in the great sauna, cooking in a kitchen equipped with an incredibly rich range of amenities, and spending the evening by the fireplace with a good book or one of the many DVDs available in the house. We have rented many houses before, but none was as perfectly equipped as this one. You can tell everywhere in the house that someone has put a lot of thought into what vacationers, alone or with children, might need to feel comfortable. Thank you, Frau Sprungmann! We will definitely come back gladly! It's nice that everything is included and there are no hidden costs!

Perfect!!!
We spent two wonderful autumn weeks on the Peace Island. The facilities leave nothing to be desired for both adults and children. We have never experienced perfection like this before! Our boys (7 and 2 years old) had shining eyes when they discovered the many games and books in the closets. We adults also had a great selection of books, games, and DVDs, and enjoyed the sauna very much. The kitchen is also top equipped and the beds are comfortable to sleep in. Everything is very clean, well-maintained, and lovingly furnished, so we quickly felt at home. The beautiful natural beach is within walking distance. For small children, you can use a wagon or stroller (both available). There is so much sand toys here that we brought something new every day. The playgrounds (in the village and at the beach) offered a bit of variety in between. There is a lot to discover in the area (organic farm with viewing platform, minimare, butterfly park, Boltenhagen, Wismar, Priwall & Travemünde, narrow-gauge railway in Klütz). Our absolute highlight was a visit to the deserted Kalkhorst Castle Park, where we picnicked at a beautiful viewpoint, played in a fairytale rock garden, and admired a huge sequoia tree.
The communication with the landlord, Mrs. Sprungmann, was very pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely come back! The summer vacation is already booked.
