Description
Welcome to the "ausspanne"! On a spacious, naturally designed property, we have built two natural log cabins (rear house and front house) with carport and outbuilding. The living area is 50 square meters each and extends over two floors.
The rear house offers plenty of space and comfort for two people. Both houses can also be rented together (for four adults). On the ground floor is the open kitchen with dining area and the bathroom. The wood pellet stove with seating area provides pleasant warmth throughout the house. Additionally, the ground floor is equipped with underfloor heating.
Upstairs you will find the spacious sleeping and living area with a wide view over the Buntenbock mountain meadows. The open roof truss and the large gable windows create a special sense of space.
The log house is furnished with great attention to detail. The solid wooden walls give the house a warm and cozy atmosphere. The large windows let plenty of light into the house and offer a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape.

Fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, oven, and dishwasher. Coffee preparation with French press or portafilter machine (also suitable for pods)

Additionally, electric underfloor heating on the ground floor.

The private outdoor sauna with mountain meadow view is located directly behind the house. The (optional) sauna package includes, in addition to sauna use, bathrobes, sauna towels, and infusion additives.
(Cost: flat rate of €20 per person for the entire stay)
Outdoor area: private wooden terrace and additional seating around the house as well as a total of 1000 sqm of natural grounds.
Parking space: the house also includes a covered parking space in the carport with the possibility to charge electric cars. Textiles: Towels and bed linen included

In winter, if there is enough snow, the cross-country ski trail runs directly behind our property.
In Buntenbock, there is a nice cafe and a small restaurant.
The mountain town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld is 3 km away. There you will find numerous shopping opportunities and a good range of dining options. Summer Activities:
The immediate surroundings with the ponds and mountain meadows offer many opportunities for hiking and mountain biking tours, fishing, and a refreshing swim in one of the numerous ponds. The long-distance hiking trails "Harzer Hexenstieg" and "Harzer Försterstieg" pass by Buntenbock.
There are a variety of more challenging tour options in the Upper Harz National Park nearby. Winter Activities:
With good snow conditions, you can directly access the cross-country ski trail right behind our property. Additionally, numerous trails in the National Park are quickly accessible. The snow-reliable trails in the Sonnenberg area and the route from Stieglitzeck to Hanskühnenburg are recommended. Even in winter, there are beautiful hiking opportunities in and around Buntenbock.
The largest alpine ski resort in the Harz is located in Braunlage (Wurmberg). When snow conditions allow, the nearby smaller ski resorts St. Andreasberg (Sonnenberg and Matthias-Schmidt Berg) and Hahnenklee (Bocksberg) are also recommended.

Our log houses were built by a wood construction manufacturer based in Bavaria. Additional work was carried out by regional crafts firms and as internal performance. We placed great importance on using natural and high-quality materials to create a unique living environment. For the interior construction, natural materials such as Anröchter dolomite, ash wood planks, and clay plaster were used.
The timber construction method is very sustainable and resource-efficient. The spruce wood used comes from Germany, as does most of the other building materials. Over 80 cubic meters of spruce wood were used just for the log walls - about 50 tons of carbon dioxide are stored in them for the lifetime of the houses.

beautiful accommodation
We had a very good time at the inn! The log cabins are a real eye-catcher and something very special. Both the outdoor area and the interior design are tastefully done. The solid wood walls and clay plaster create a particularly natural and pleasant atmosphere. Ideal for a cozy evening by the fireplace! We felt completely at ease. In the nearby area, a small lake invites swimming and relaxing – perfect for restful days amidst beautiful nature.

Perfect for winding down!
We had a few very relaxing days at the inn. The name says it all; you really can unwind there. The log cabin is very practical, beautifully decorated with attention to detail, and cozy. The kitchen has everything you need, and there's even a small espresso machine. We particularly liked the pellet stove, which provided a wonderfully cozy warmth and lovely atmosphere in the frosty weather. Not to forget: the dreamy sauna with a view of the meadow. Overall a great accommodation that exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended!

Autumn holidays
The holiday home is very inviting and beautifully situated. The view towards the mountain meadows is a dream. Even on days without sun, one can make it very cozy (easy-to-use pellet stove, very well-equipped kitchen). You can start hiking directly from the house. We will come back.
