A charming stay! The nearby lighthouse of Ameland was a highlight and the children enjoyed the swimming pool. The bungalow had a homely atmosphere and the hosts were very helpful.

Beautiful spacious and clean house! Light and cosy. Excellent sanitary facilities and a good bed. Everything we need is available in abundance. Close to the beach and a house for yourself.

We were now in Hollum for the 5th time. Unfortunately, there were some points of criticism. We were really disappointed about things that have no place in a vacation. Regarding the cottage: We spent a week in a house in Ballum on Ameland, then only had to move into the house in Hollum. Check-out at 10 a.m. Upon inquiry 3 days before the move via email and on the day of check-in at the reception, there was no effort noticeable for an earlier check-in. It was pointed out that the handover is at 4 PM, possibly a bit earlier could be possible. We were then allowed to move in at 2 PM. (For clarification: The cottage was already ready for occupancy a day earlier. Beds were made, the cleaning team was finished.) We would have wished for a bit of flexibility. Topic food: A pizza order by phone was declined, waiting on site for 45 minutes, steep prices. Too bad, it used to be different... Topic cleanliness: Interior cleaning was fine, unfortunately the refrigerator was dirty, glasses and butter dish greasy, seemingly new cups that were still slippery and probably not washed beforehand, cushions and blanket on the sofa old and rancid. Senseo coffee machine did not work properly. Pan was available, quality poor. Even the mixing area stuck in the bedroom: The bedroom opposite the shower smelled strange on the inside of the window side. It smelled like an old apartment with former mold infestation, but we cannot verify that. Maybe just old. And it was only the one wall. The outdoor area was also a nuisance. A terrace with shabby chairs and a defective sun umbrella, a second terrace was completely unusable. Here was bulky waste (old chairs and loungers and wood scraps). In the garden, one could have played ball or badminton due to the size, but the only disturbance was the barbed wire fence at about 50cm height! Who does something like that? A baby chair offered in the apartment and then barbed wire? Are you serious? After the initial difficulties, I didn't feel like complaining anymore. Positive: The box spring beds were very comfortable and the wardrobes in the bedrooms looked new. The bunk bed was also reasonable and of good quality. The sofas in the seating area were comfortable, the cabinets sufficient. The dining area was also okay. Conclusion: We will not go to this resort again. The price-performance ratio is simply no longer right.

Great location, 1.5 km from the beach, Super easy to get around, The living room was spacious enough for us and the kitchen was well equipped, The only downside was that the WiFi was sometimes a bit unreliable, All in all, a lovely stay!

We had a great time in the bungalow! It was cozy and well-equipped, which made it perfect for our family of five. The children loved the bunk bed and we appreciated the separate dining room for meals. Although it was a bit far from the beach, the 1.5 km was manageable and offered a great opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings. The outdoor terrace was a nice place to enjoy morning coffee. We also took advantage of the nearby dining options like De Duvelshoek, which was just a short walk away. Highly recommended for a relaxing vacation!

In general, a nice place to stay, the layout suited us well and the location was convenient for both beach outings and exploring the charming shops of Hollum.
