Tourism has also joined pilgrimage and glass in Frauenau in this century. The state-recognised health resort and winter sports location lies in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, at the foot of the Great Rachel (1453 m). Frauenau is nestled in the scenic valley of the Flanitzbach, on the edges of which the mountain ranges rise up to the 1500 m mark. The typical Bavarian Forest village in a central location is an ideal starting point for hikes in the charming surroundings and for excursions in the wider area. Part of the municipal area is part of the Bavarian Forest National Park.
However, Frauenau not only has recreational charms in summer, but also becomes a special holiday experience in winter. Ski courses, a ski lift in the village, toboggan slope and an extensive network of cleared winter hiking trails offer exemplary winter experiences. The Frauenau cross-country skiing centre is located at an altitude of 800 m and is fanned out into a wide network of well-prepared trails of varying lengths. The holiday flat Dyck is located away from the main road in a residential area and yet very central.
Here you can enjoy your holiday in the quiet surroundings.
The outdoor swimming pool with slide is within walking distance.
For winter sports, the Arber can be reached in about 20 minutes.
Depending on the snow conditions, you can also take advantage of the winter sports facilities in Frauenau, such as cross-country skiing and ski school.
A glass excursion also starts in Frauenau with the glass museum, the glassworks and the glass gardens.

Spent beautiful days.
We spent very nice days there. This accommodation is a very nice and well-kept apartment, in the middle of a very beautiful area.
