Description

Our Ankerhuus, with its region-typical East Frisian architecture (Gulfhaus), has a very special atmosphere and a lot of charm.
The name of our accommodation comes from the anchor sculpture from the Funnix Sculpture Garden, which is installed in front of the house.
Inside, you will find a bright, modern, and cozy interior with a comfortable atmosphere.

Location and surroundings of object

Pretty much between the town of Wittmund and the coastal town of Carolinensiel is the small and idyllically situated Funnix
Our house is located at the end of the village with a view of the vast East Frisian landscape.
Visit the parish church of St. Florian from the 14th century or the famous Funnix sculpture garden.

There is plenty to discover in the inland area around Funnix. No matter whether you prefer to travel by car or by bike. Exciting excursion destinations can usually be reached in just a few minutes by car, such as the piers and charming harbours on the North Sea coast like Neßmersiel, Dornumersiel, Bensersiel, Carolinensiel, Neuharlingersiel and Harlingersiel.

The surrounding towns such as Wittmund, Esens or Jever invite you to make smaller shopping trips. If you are planning a larger shopping tour, Wilhelmshaven is not far away. The harbour tour and a visit to the naval port are also interesting.

General Assessment Ankerhuus in Funnix

The apartment was clean upon our arrival, and nothing was missing in the furnishings. Everything needed for a stay in the vacation home was available. The location is simply very quiet, despite a small access road leading to a nearby village. Located right on the edge of the village and great for small walks and strolls through the little village. The associated garden is simply a dream for dog owners!!! There, every four-legged friend can let loose to their heart's content, as it is completely fenced in. One could sleep very well there, if only for the sake of the peace, and 2 large televisions in a bedroom and in the living room round off the overall impression. Communication with the landlord was simply exemplary, as we were called after our return and asked how we liked our stay at Ankerhuus. My wife, our dog, and I were completely satisfied and can only recommend a holiday or short trip to the Ankerhuus!!!

So beautiful there!

That was our 3rd long-term vacation at Ankerhuus Funnix (each 8 weeks!) and it certainly won't be the last.
We simply feel at home in the cozy Ankerhuus. It is well-equipped with everything you need. The location is beautiful, wonderfully quiet, away from the tourist hustle, yet close to the North Sea. The large garden is a dream for dogs.
The landlords, the housekeeper, and the neighbors are all really nice; you just feel welcome.
We will come back next year!

Very pleasant holiday

After a smooth booking of a nice arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the apartment. The house and property were very well maintained. From the terrace, there was a beautiful view of the lawn. Our dog was totally thrilled. Plenty of space to romp around. It was also nice to sit on the bench in front and look at the fields. We can recommend the apartment without reservation.

very beautiful holiday home with a large garden

The house is spacious and was clean and tidy. In the kitchen, everything needed was there. In the garden, there is plenty of space to play or to find a spot in the sun or shade to sleep. Our dog was thrilled. Our request to turn up the heating, as it was quite chilly, was promptly addressed. The contact with the local representative and also with the Karsti family was straightforward and friendly. In the surrounding area, you can take long walks on the field paths. Shopping options are sufficiently available in Wittmund. There are also many beautiful excursion destinations in the vicinity. We would definitely recommend the house.

It doesn't get any better.

Very beautiful quiet location. Huge dog-friendly well-maintained property, everything you need is there. The house is completely furnished, even more than our home. Everything very clean. Plenty of space. The best holiday home I have been to in my life. 7 km from the North Sea. Very very beautiful Frisian landscape.

Feel-good house away from the hustle and bustle

We spent a longer vacation at Ankerhuus and simply felt at home there. The house is very cozy and lovingly furnished and equipped with everything you need. The huge garden is ideal for dogs.
The landlords, the caretaker, and also the neighbors there are all very very nice and endeavor to make the guest feel good.
We would love to come back!

Feeling at home

The holiday home is exactly as described. We arrived and immediately felt at home. The house is cozy and nicely furnished and nothing was missing, even in terms of kitchen equipment. It was a totally relaxing holiday in a small, quiet village. Even our four-legged friend enjoyed the large, completely fenced garden. It was certainly not our last holiday in Funnix, in this great holiday home!!

Facilities very good but bitterly cold.

The apartment had a big drawback, all rooms were very cold when coming from outside and wanting to warm up, no chance, it was incredibly cold in every room and you couldn't turn the temperature up. Everything with thick sweaters and 2 pairs of socks.

The equipment was really good.

Sehr geehrter Herr Wolfgang S.,
vor der kalten Jahreszeit haben wir die Heizung und alle Thermostate umgerüstet, um im Zeitraum ohne Belegung die Temperatur aus der Ferne absenken zu können und Energie zu sparen.
Nur so können wir die Preise auch in der kalten Jahreszeit günstig gestalten.
Leider scheint es so, das die aus der Ferne ausgelesenen Temperaturen in den Räumen nicht korrekt sind und nicht ausreichen um ein Wohlfühlklima zu haben.
Dafür möchte ich mich aufrichtig entschuldigen.
Das sollte nicht vorkommen und ich werde das beheben damit zukünftig die Temperaturen angenehm sind.
Wir bitten unser Gäste sich in solchen Fällen, sich umgehend an unsere Hausfee zu wenden damit eine schnelle Lösung gefunden werden kann.

Holiday home plus relaxation guaranteed

We felt very comfortable in the house with four adults. As a small suggestion, a small carport outside for cooler and rainy days would be desirable. We would have been very happy about that, especially since then the chairs would be dry in the morning

Very beautiful house with a very large plot

We were very excited.
We were greeted by a great house, furnished with a lot of attention to detail. Everything is available for a relaxed holiday with furry friends. The North Sea with its beaches is easily accessible (by car or bicycle). We visited a few dog beaches. Our absolute recommendation is the dog beach in Schillig! Consideration is given there to each other so that the dogs can also run well on the retractable leash on the beach or directly at the edge of the mudflat. For families with children, there is also plenty of space on the natural beach to dig, etc. Everything needed for basic supply is easily accessible. (stop with the car or the bike)
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and are looking forward to next year because we will certainly come back (coming from Bavaria).

Empfehlenswert

We were there with two adult children. For us, the spacious place, the two bathrooms, and the large sofa were crucial. They were far exceeded. The landlords are quickly reachable and very nice. The house is warm, clean, very well maintained, and has everything from the hot air fryer to the basic supplies of tea, cleaner, etc. We could hardly use the outdoor area, but I can very well imagine a longer vacation. Great for dogs. The location is central to the coast and all major towns, and what a cute little village.

Just great

We stayed at Ankerhuss in Funnix for 3 weeks, we really liked it, our Bobtail Bobby also loved it because he had a huge garden to play in. We immediately felt at home in the house, we lacked nothing, the location and everything around it was great, the neighborhood was very nice and helpful, all in all, Ankerhuus gets a smooth 5-star rating from us.

Beautiful holiday home in a good location

The equipment of the holiday home is really good. The kitchen in particular was very well stocked. Everything is very clean and well maintained, lovingly furnished with many small details.

The location is great to reach and visit the beautiful surrounding towns in a short time. It is also only 15 minutes to the sea

Shopping facilities are also just 5 minutes away

We were there with our 2 dogs. The completely fenced property is great for letting your dog run free.

The location in the village itself is nice and quiet and on the edge. Good walking possibilities.

Vacation was great.

The house is comfortably furnished and you immediately feel at home. The house is very large and the three of us had plenty of space. Outside, there are three terraces/seating areas which can be used for reading, having coffee, or sunbathing. The large lawn is inviting for playing. It is very quiet and relaxing. A means of transportation is needed for shopping or going to the beach. There are bike paths. We had a great week.
