The name of our accommodation comes from the anchor sculpture from the Funnix Sculpture Garden, which is installed in front of the house.

Pretty much between the town of Wittmund and the coastal town of Carolinensiel is the small and idyllically situated Funnix
Our house is located at the end of the village with a view of the vast East Frisian landscape.
Visit the parish church of St. Florian from the 14th century or the famous Funnix sculpture garden.
There is plenty to discover in the inland area around Funnix. No matter whether you prefer to travel by car or by bike. Exciting excursion destinations can usually be reached in just a few minutes by car, such as the piers and charming harbours on the North Sea coast like Neßmersiel, Dornumersiel, Bensersiel, Carolinensiel, Neuharlingersiel and Harlingersiel.
The surrounding towns such as Wittmund, Esens or Jever invite you to make smaller shopping trips. If you are planning a larger shopping tour, Wilhelmshaven is not far away. The harbour tour and a visit to the naval port are also interesting.

We are moving in.
We were four in the house for a week, which is furnished with many small loving things.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals. The house is largely wheelchair accessible for a manually operated wheelchair. The bathtub can be used by the wheelchair user with a few aids (which you bring yourself).
Even the garden was no problem for our wheelchair user. There is a very beautiful terrace that is shaded and offers wonderful sunsets in the summer during nice weather. Dogs also feel very comfortable in the house and garden. We city dwellers really enjoyed the peace and quiet. If you want to experience something, Wittmund, Carolinensiel, Neuharlingersiel, and the East Frisian Islands are not far away. We felt very comfortable in the house because it is not sterile, but rather privately furnished. We will definitely come back.

Generous amenities in rural idyll
A house with an equipment that lacks nothing and has the necessary amount of electrical accessories in the kitchen, sufficient dishes, and many utensils provided for down to the smallest detail.
A wonderful garden with many seating areas like in the pictures (almost even more beautiful) and great planting, designed very close to nature. The covered terrace and the beach chair are a highlight.
On the road and yet quiet, but also visible. For calm dogs, surely a dream. Since it was quite cool in the evenings at times, it was great that the house could be heated in May as well. Except for the heating in the large bathroom. But that wasn't used because the new bathroom was completely sufficient and particularly nice.
The beds were of good quality and everything can be well darkened.
It is also advantageous that everything is on one level, although there are many rooms, as it is a former farmhouse.
It is also worth noting that arrival and departure are problem-free with a key box. On-site friendly contacts and neighbors. Sympathetic landlords with uncomplicated processing. Additionally, a lockable shed with wheels and for personal bikes. Conclusion: there is nothing to complain about and it is highly recommended.

General Assessment Ankerhuus in Funnix
The apartment was clean upon our arrival, and nothing was missing in the furnishings. Everything needed for a stay in the vacation home was available. The location is simply very quiet, despite a small access road leading to a nearby village. Located right on the edge of the village and great for small walks and strolls through the little village. The associated garden is simply a dream for dog owners!!! There, every four-legged friend can let loose to their heart's content, as it is completely fenced in. One could sleep very well there, if only for the sake of the peace, and 2 large televisions in a bedroom and in the living room round off the overall impression. Communication with the landlord was simply exemplary, as we were called after our return and asked how we liked our stay at Ankerhuus. My wife, our dog, and I were completely satisfied and can only recommend a holiday or short trip to the Ankerhuus!!!

Die Küche hat alles was man braucht um sich seine Mahlzeiten zu zubereiten. Das Haus ist weitestgehend rollstuhlgerecht für einen handbetriebenen Rollstuhl. Die Badewanne kann mit wenigen Hilfsmitteln (die man selbst mitbringt) vom Rollstuhlfahrer benutzt werden.
Selbst der Garten war kein Problem für unseren Rollstuhlfahrer. Es gibt eine sehr schöne Terasse die im Schatten liegt und zum Abend bei schönem Wetter, im Sommer, herrliche Sonnenuntergänge bietet. Auch Hunde fühlen sich im Haus und Garten sehr wohl.
Uns Stadtmenschen hat die Ruhe sehr gefallen. Wenn man etwas erleben möchte ist Wittmund, Carolinensiel, Neuharlingersiel und die Ostfriesischen Inseln nicht weit weg.
Wir haben uns im Haus so wohl gefühlt, weil es nicht steril ist, sondern eher privat eingerichtet.
Wir kommen auf jeden fall wieder.

Ein herrlicher Garten mit den vielen Sitzplätzen wie auf den Bildern (fast noch schöner) und toller Bepflanzung, sehr naturnah gestaltet. Die überdachte Terrasse und der Strandkorb ein Highlight.
An der Straße und doch ruhig, allerdings auch einsehbar. Für ruhige Hunde sicher ein Traum.
Da es zeitweise abends sehr kühl war, war es toll, dass man das Haus auch im Mai heizen konnte. Außer die Heizung im großen Bad. Aber das war nicht genutzt, weil das neue Bad völlig ausreichend war und besonders schön.
Die Betten von guter Qualität und alles lässt sich gut abdunkeln.
Von Vorteil auch alles auf einer Ebene, allerdings auch viele Räume, weil ehemaliges Bauernhaus.
Anzumerken auch, dass die An- und Abreise problemlos mit Schlüsselkasten erfolgt. Vor Ort nette Ansprechpartner und Nachbarn. Sympathische Vermieter mit unkomplizierter Abwicklung.
Außerdem ein abschließbarer Schuppen mit Rädern und für eigene Räder.
Fazit : es gibt nichts zu bemängeln und ist nur zu empfehlen.
Die Lage ist einfach sehr ruhig, trotz einer keinen Durchgangsstraße, die zu einer kleinen Ortschaft in der Nähe führt. Direkt am Ortsrand gelegen und toll geeignet für kleine Spazier und Rundgänge durch die kleine Ortschaft.
Der dazugehörige Garten ist für Hundebesitzer einfach nur ein Traum !!!
Da kann sich jeder Vierbeiner nach Herzenslust drin austoben, da er rundum eingezäunt ist.
Man konnte dort sehr gut schlafen, allein schon der Ruhe wegen und 2 große Fernseher in einem
Schlafzimmer und im Wohnzimmer runden den Gesamteindruck ab.
Die Verständigung mit dem Vermieter war einfach nur vorbildlich, da wir nach der Rückkehr angerufen wurden, und nachgefragt worden ist, wie uns der Aufenthalt im Ankerhuus gefallen hat.
Meine Frau, unser Hund und ich waren rundum zufrieden und können einen Urlaub oder Kurztrip in das Ankerhuus nur weiter empfehlen !!!
Wir fühlen uns in dem gemütlichen Ankerhuus einfach zuhause. Es ist gut ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht. Die Lage ist schön, herrlich ruhig, abseits vom Touristentrubel, trotzdem nah an der Nordsee. Der große Garten ist ein Traum für Hunde.
Die Vermieter, die Hausfee und die Nachbarn sind alle total nett, man fühlt sich einfach willkommen.
Wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder!
Im Garten ist viel Platz zum Spielen oder auch um ein Plätzchen in der Sonne oder Schatten zu finden um zu schlafen. Unser Hund war begeistert.
Unsere Bitte die Heizung höher zu stellen, das es doch recht frisch war, wurde umgehend nachgekommen. Der Kontakt zur Ansprechpartnerin vor Ort und auch zur Familie Karsti war unkompliziert und nett.
In der Umgebung kann man auf den Feldwegen lange Spaziergänge machen.
Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in Wittmund genügend vorhanden. Auch gibt es viele schöne Ausflugsziele in der Umgebung.
Wir würden das Haus auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.
Die Vermieter, die Hausfee und auch die Nachbarn dort sind alle sehr sehr nett und darum bemüht, dass es einem als Gast gut geht.
Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Entspannung pur ich komme gern wieder.
Es begrüßte uns ein tolles Haus ...eingerichtet mit viel Liebe an Details. Alles ist vorhanden was man benötigt für einen entspannten Urlaub mit Fellnasen. Die Nordsee mit ihren Stränden ist gut zu erreichen ( entweder Auto oder mit dem Rad). Wir haben uns den einen oder anderen Hundestrand angeschaut . Unsere Empfehlung absolut ist der Hundestrand in Schillig!! Es wir dort Rücksicht genommen aufeinander sodass die Hunde auch gut an der Schleppleine an dem Strand oder direkt an der Wattkante laufen können. Für Familien mit Kindern ist an dem Naturstrand auch Platz zum Buddeln usw. ohne Ende. Alles , was man für die Grundversorgung braucht, ist leicht zu erreichen. ( halt mit dem Auto oder dem Rad)
Rundum haben wir die Zeit hier genossen und freuen uns auf nächstes Jahr weil wir definitiv wieder herfahren ( aus Bayern kommend)

Die Lage ist super um die schönen umliegenden Städtchen in kurzer Zeit zu erreichen und zu besichtigen. Auch zum Meer sind es nur knapp 15min.
Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind auch mal gerade gute 5min entfernt.
Wir waren mit unseren 2 Hunden da. Das komplett eingezäunte Grundstück ist super, um seinen Hund auch einfach mal frei laufen lassen zu können.
Die Lage im Ort selbst, ist schön ruhig und am Rand. Gute Spaziergehmöglichkeiten.
