Description
This prestigious and fully fenced-in property (automatic gate) is ideally situated on a plot of almost 5000 m2 with a beautiful view of the Tourrettes Castle. It is at your sole disposal during your stay. The house has a living area of almost 140m2, with two beautiful bedrooms (one with balcony) and two en-suite bathrooms. Two further sleeping facilities are available and can be additionally booked.
The living room and adjoining dining room as well as the fully equipped kitchen leave nothing to be desired. The house has a huge outdoor terrace (partly covered) and additionally a sunblind. The large pool with outdoor shower (10 x 5 x ) provides ample cooling and relaxation. An extensive garden with partly exotic plants as well as the boules court adjacent to the terrace provide fun, exercise and sufficient variety. The area is rich in historical sights and offers a large number of quickly accessible restaurants of all categories, supermarkets as well as many other shopping facilities, doctors etc. Two restaurants in Tourrettes are within walking distance (about 700 m).
Those who love golf will find themselves within sight of the course recently voted one of the best European golf courses Terre Blanche by SAP founder Dietmar Hopp.
Excursions to the sea to Cannes, Frejus, St. Raphael, Theoule etc. can be reached by car in just over 30 minutes. Nice airport is 50 min. away.
Villa Gecko of course has TV, Internet/Wlan and can be rented all year round (subject to availability). A Weber gas grill of the latest design can be additionally booked.

Location and surroundings of object
Villa Gecko is located on the outskirts of Tourrettes, about 17 km as the crow flies from the sea in the picturesque surroundings of the villages of Callian, Montoraux, Fayence and Seillans (member of the list of the most beautiful villages in France). The lake Lac de Saint-Cassien is only a few kilometres away and offers a variety of hiking and leisure activities. Nice airport can be reached in about 45-50 minutes. Cannes, Frejus and St. Raphael are about 30 minutes away. Golf lovers, mountain bikers, racing cyclists, glider pilots, paragliders, water sports enthusiasts and hikers will get their money's worth.

| A Weber BBQ (E-210 Genesis 2) can be booked at check-in for a flat rate of (EUR 50) for the time of your stay. This does not include gas which can be obtained at almost every petrol station. |
Cancellation terms:
- If it should not be possible to sublet the property, we will withhold 80% of the rental price for the services not used. Often it is still possible to sublet 4 weeks prior to the arrival date. In the event that a rental is possible, the proceedings will of course be offset against the rental price. In addition, if you withdraw from the contract, a fee of € 250 will always be retained as compensation for expenses incurred. We recommend our guests to take out travel cancellation insurance. This can be booked inexpensively through your insurance broker or over the Internet or at various automobile clubs.

Highly recommended
What a wonderfull time we had at the Gecko house! It has a nice view, good WiFi and is absolutely very well equipped.
We stayed from 8th - 22nd July 2023 and it was a warm period with temperatures far above 30 degrees. So the swimming pool was a very cool pleasure :-). Especially the size and it’s depth of 2,2m is nice!
The neighbourhood is nice as well, some suggestions:
-Tourrettes itselves ofcourse
-Seillans (listed as one of France most lovely villages)
-Pont des Tuves (rough hicking path)
-Pont de Mons (it seems you can walk from Saint-Cézaire, but we drove the very small D656, parked the car along the road just after the hairpin and walker back 400 meter and than following the rough hicking path). You are even able to splash in the water under the bridge and we were even the only people there).
-the coast way from Saint-Raphaël to Mandelieu/Cannes (thanks fam O’Carroll)
-La Gloire de Mon Père, restaurant in Seillans (make a reservation upfront)
-Le Vol à Voile, restaurant at the foot of the aeroplane in Fayance

We are not the type of people coming to a a same place twice, but Gecko and you stole our hearts and we would be pleased to come back.

Insider tip out of season
We were there before the season and it was so beautiful!
It's a shame that not all the restaurants were open but that's the season and we knew that. Our dog ran around in the garden all day and we enjoyed the wonderful view of the valley and the castle from the balcony. Unfortunately, we only looked longingly at the pool. How great it must be in summer! Maybe we weren't brave enough. Everything was as described and the shops and shopping facilities were good and partly even accessible without a car. A tip: The restaurant at the glider airfield and the village of Velnasque, abandoned for hundreds of years, in the middle of the forest and only 2 km away. Thank you for the friendly welcome and we will send back the DVD we took with us by mistake. See you again soon, perhaps.

Villa with feel-good character
We stayed at Villa Gecko in Tourrettes for 2 weeks in September and really enjoyed our time there. The villa is in a very quiet location and offers a fantastic view of the countryside. The villa is spacious, very clean and beautifully furnished. The warm welcome by Mrs O'Carroll was the start of a relaxing holiday for us. The landlords were always available for questions and very helpful. We enjoyed the undisturbed time at the large and deep pool very much. The nearest restaurant is within walking distance. Our insider tip is the restaurant "La Farandole" in the neighbouring village of Fayence. Thank you for the wonderful time in the beautiful Villa Gecko. We can recommend this accommodation without reservation.

For us it was ideal with a dog. He had plenty of exercise and could not run away. A very well kept and clean house with a nice big pool. We will definitely come back again. The nearest restaurant was only 800m away.

Great ambience, great hosts, great place and lovely memories.
A perfect location to suit our interests. I fly a glider plane and my wife enjoys her round of golf. A lovely clean house away from it all but close enough to everything we needed. Perfectly equipped. It was a bit of a hassle though to borrow a glider at Tourett aerodrome. We only made it to the little restaurants twice and mainly enjoyed the pool. The Pizza guy now knows the address! (-: Will come back and then surely try some more of the recommendations for an evening out. Great ambience and thanks with the lift to the airport.

It was wonderful.
What should one write - it was simply delightful. The Provence in spring is something very special. Unfortunately, it was too cold for the pool, but that wasn't important to us. Strikingly beautiful house and very clean and well-maintained. Playing a round of golf with a neighbor was a lot of fun. The course - sensational. We will definitely come back in one of the next summers.

The Trausch family sends their regards.
We have known the area for a long time and were looking for a nice house for our vacation trip with our growing son. We had noticed the house in the past, but unfortunately it was always rented out. Now it has a new owner and we were actually able to spend our vacation there in September. The landlords take care of everything and were also able to help us when we had a medical emergency. We would love to come back here if we can still afford it. Corona is currently causing us a lot of worries as well. Our relaxed evenings by the pool and our many trips to the surrounding area, the lake and the sea are unforgettable. Stay healthy, everyone!
