Good basis for exploring the region

With Mrs. Lechner's vacation apartment, you make a good choice in this very popular and expensive holiday region away from luxury prices. Hausham is located on the railway line to Bayrischzell and is therefore a good starting point to reach the Alpine foothills by public transport. Schliersee can be reached in 5 minutes by train every hour, and there is occasionally a direct bus connection to Tegernsee. In the apartment, there is enough space and one can cook well with the available equipment. Away from main roads, it is very quiet here and we enjoyed the cozy seating areas in front of the house. I experienced Mrs. Lechner as a very friendly and helpful landlord. She lives right next to the vacation apartment in the same building, has an open ear for the guests' concerns, and was so nice during our arrival to pick us up from the train station. One should know that she has a large dog, which she does not allow in the area in front of the vacation apartment when the guests are home.
All in all, it was a good stay and I would reserve here again.

Short vacation in Fischbachau

We were 4 people in the Almblick house in Fischbachau. The house is very spacious, very clean, and the furnishings are truly exceptional. We felt very comfortable right away.
The landlords gave us great tips for hikes in the area and were extremely attentive to our comfort.
The really cozy terrace is worth mentioning, where we enjoyed the evenings very much.
We can recommend the house without reservation.

Simply perfect

We have had many years of holiday home experience, but this one was awesome. Plenty of space, quiet location, a well-equipped kitchen (enough dishes, pots and pans, everything), a mega wellness area and super nice hosts who are always available
The location is quiet, but still central. Excursions in all directions are possible.
I can only recommend booking the wellness area.

Which sights are there at Tegernsee-Schliersee?

Chapels with a View

When you book a privately-owned vacation home or apartment at Lake Tegernsee, you will find some exciting places in nature that invite you to linger. Amidst natural forest landscapes, you will find imposing buildings and impressive monuments. The churches in the region are particularly worth visiting. Among the most important monasteries of the Free State is the former Benedictine monastery in the town of Tegernsee, which catches the eye immediately due to its radiant yellow paint. In the surrounding area, you will find several small and idyllically located chapels at the edges of paths and forests, which you can explore during a hiking or mountain tour. The Neureuth Chapel, for example, may seem quite unassuming at first. But from here, you have a fabulous view and can stop by the neighboring mountain inn for a cozy meal.

What do you need to experience at Tegernsee-Schliersee?

Unique Vacation Highlights

During a holiday with accommodation in a prime location or a vacation home or apartment with a panoramic view, there are some highlights by the lake to discover. The famous Tegernsee Monastery, founded in the eighth century, is now a castle that houses various facilities. Among them is the impressive St. Quirinus Parish Church, which has been extensively remodeled and renovated and welcomes visitors. In Kreuth, you will find the notable Ringberg Castle, which serves as a Nobel Prize laureate campus for the Max Planck Society. In the town of Tegernsee, you can enjoy coffee in an old prison with a fantastic view of the unique lake. Concert enthusiasts can find their pleasure in Bad Wiessee, where an average of 222 musical highlights take place each year. If you want to get active, you can use 18 certified Nordic walking trails around Lake Tegernsee. Adventurous nature experiences are also available in the Karwendel Mountains, the Rofan, or the Tegernsee and Schliersee Mountains as part of your holiday program. Lake Tegernsee itself is considered one of the cleanest lakes in Bavaria, as a continuous ring sewer system was built around the lake in the 1960s. Another tip: Many of the vacation apartments and homes are also suitable for a holiday with a dog at Lake Tegernsee. Rent a cozy vacation accommodation in the Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach or a chic apartment, a house, for example in Rottach-Egern, or an apartment with a balcony, mountain view, terrace, kitchen, and experience the dream of a relaxed and restful holiday full of peace and variety with the family.

What can you experience at Tegernsee-Schliersee with children?

Majestic Mountains and Lakes

If you have found a cozy vacation accommodation or a beautiful vacation home or apartment, for example in Rottach-Egern with a panoramic view from a private owner, nothing stands in the way of a wonderful beach holiday at Lake Tegernsee. The lake is a major highlight when you arrive with your family and settle into your accommodation. For instance, visit the Seeglas beach resort in Gmund. Here, you will also find excellent playgrounds for your little ones. A ride on the gondola up to Wallberg is also recommended, where a breathtaking view of the lake is presented. In winter, you can use the fascinating mountain world for tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and skiing. From Wallberg, there is one of the longest natural toboggan runs in Germany, measuring 6.5 kilometers. Here, you will also find the largest contiguous ski area in the Prealps. For your family holiday, excursions to Lake Schliersee, Lake Achensee, Lake Spitzingsee, or Lake Chiemsee are also recommended. Explore the surrounding areas on foot while hiking and enjoy a refreshing dip at Lake Schliersee afterward.

Where can I eat out at Tegernsee-Schliersee?

Bavarian Hospitality and Fine Dining

The region around Lake Tegernsee is known as a gourmet's paradise for good reason. Rent a vacation home or apartment and indulge in sophisticated culinary delights in the inns and restaurants. In addition to typical regional dishes with local ingredients, many chefs focus on handmade delicacies and exquisite specialties. Classics include dishes with game from local hunting, hay milk cheese from local dairies, or fish from Lake Tegernsee itself. Fine dining is available with 3-star chef Christian Jürgens at the Überfahrt. Similarly delicious meals are served by 1-star chef Thomas Kellermann at the Dichterstub'n. For those who prefer a more affordable option but still want to be pampered according to all the rules of culinary art, places like the Bräustüberl or the Schlossrestaurant Tegernsee offer genuine Bavarian coziness and hospitality. In the Bräustüberl, you can enjoy pork knuckle and meatloaf as well as draft beer and schnapps in a hearty-rustic atmosphere with an outdoor area.

What is a must-see at Tegernsee-Schliersee?

The Legacy of the Chancellors

The region around Lake Tegernsee is rich in cultural offerings that combine tradition with modernity. Since Bavarians love to celebrate, the International Mountain Film Festival, the International Music Festival Kreuth, numerous church consecrations, and the famous forest and lake festivals are very popular. Don't be surprised: There's always a time for dirndls and traditional costumes here. Traditions, history, as well as art and culture are experienced in various museums. In the Tegernseer Tal Culture & History Museum, you will find 850 exhibition objects that revolve around the eventful times in this region. The Museum in the Gsotthaber Hof focuses on the theme of horses, bringing you closer to the special significance of this particular animal at Lake Tegernsee. Also worth seeing is the Olaf Gulbransson Museum, which displays the works of the famous Norwegian artist. Former German Chancellors Konrad Adenauer and Ludwig Erhard played a significant role in the creation of the museum. Erhard lived in Gmund am Tegernsee. His grave can be found on the mountain cemetery. Book a holiday with a vacation home and apartment and immerse yourself in a very special world of art and culture!
