Cozy holiday home for feeling good

We were here on a ski vacation with several families and had a great time!

*Cleanliness:*
Everything was perfectly clean!

*Facilities and Furnishings:*
The holiday home is very cozily furnished in alpine style.
On the upper floor, there are several rooms of different sizes, and on the ground floor, a living kitchen with a corner bench invites you to cook. Next door is the living room with a large couch and another corner bench area. Our children always played here. Additionally, there is a very spacious dining room where we all found room together.
In the basement, there is a sauna with a relaxation room.
Overall, the house is super functional with a large hallway, an anteroom for all shoes, a pantry, and a ski cellar.
In the garden, our children were able to play in the snow and build a snowman.

*Location:*
The holiday home is located in a small hamlet near the town of Mauterndorf. One has a dreamlike view of the high valley and the surrounding mountains. From the house, a beautiful hiking path leads to the village.
Supermarkets and restaurants can be reached by car in 3 minutes.

*Contact with the host:*
The contact with the host was very friendly and uncomplicated.

We would unreservedly recommend the house for families with children or groups. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back!
The price-performance ratio is right! ? ?

Had a great vacation. Very nice house with a nice wellness/sauna. Enough space for a large group. Beautiful location. Nice terrace, both open and covered. Beautiful garden. A few points for improvement. New toilet seats instead of some taped up. Larger small spoons, these are really mini. Have the second dishwasher checked. The living room floor showed a lot of signs of use. Maybe a mirror in the sauna, as it would then also be a proper bathroom, even though there are enough. The window in the bedroom on the right upstairs also needs renewal. When we arrived, the bed underneath was full of black flakes. Internet/WiFi is not very good. Cleaning could be better. The house was free a few days before us, but there was a lot of dust on the cabinets upstairs and downstairs and on the floor. So maybe a point to work on is to have it checked the day before new residents arrive. But other than that, a super house. We had a super fun vacation, which is the main thing. But just wanted to highlight the points of improvement to make it even better.

Unfortunately, there is no guest card in our holiday apartment, which significantly increases costs every day if you want to use mountain lifts or similar. Otherwise, a very nice accommodation optimal for three people. What would also be good to know is that it takes at least 45-60 minutes to reach anything.

Perhaps from your holiday home or apartment, you can see the imposing Mauterndorf Castle, which promises a journey back to the Middle Ages. During a guided tour, you can explore the sleeping chambers of the former rulers or the steep defensive tower. A great hustle and bustle takes place in July when the castle and village host a large medieval festival. Mauterndorf became a holiday paradise thanks to the approximately 60 mountain lakes and 45 managed alpine huts in the region and the opportunity for exciting hikes through the picturesque nature. These include the NaturPur trail with its 50 stations and the Trogalmseen hike. Or take a ride on the quaint Taurach Railway, the highest-altitude narrow-gauge railway in all of Austria. This is a steam-powered locomotive that takes you from Mauterndorf to the sleepy St. Andrä and back again. Worth seeing are the glacier mills, which were formed during the last Ice Age in the Hammer district, or the Roman temple in Steindorf, which was discovered under the garden of a farmhouse. A yearly highlight is the Balloon Weeks in January when international teams take to the skies over the Alps. Sometimes there is even an opportunity to go on board. In the balloon, you get a view of the Alps that you will never forget. With a bit of luck, crossings of the Alps to Italy or Slovenia are also possible. Discover the traditions of the Lungau during the Samson parades, which take place four times a year. A man carries the giant figure of Samson on his shoulders according to an old custom.
