We were here for the second time. Dream vacation for children and the dog could run freely on the large property. Unfortunately, shops are not in immediate proximity. Otherwise, there would be 5 stars for everything. We would love to come back.

We have booked the holiday home and found everything as shown in the pictures and described in the descriptions. Everything was clean and tidy. The equipment was sufficient for all needs.
In one or two places, the owner's DIY ambition is visible. Some cable installations detract from the otherwise cozy atmosphere of the house. The garden is fenced and nicely laid out. There are play opportunities for smaller children. In good weather, it is possible to sit outside.
What we somewhat missed was a welcome folder with information about the house or the area. A key for the garden gate would also have been desirable. Thus, we always had to leave the dog inside when we were away.
Overall, we would come back.

A holiday home or private apartment is excellent for a relaxing vacation in Emsland. Three renowned golf courses, a dozen lakes, about 35 riding arenas, 3500 km of cycling trails plus 400 km of waterways, and numerous outdoor and indoor pools ensure a varied stay in a holiday home. With its forests, lush meadows, abundant water, and vast peat bog areas, it is the ideal destination for a hiking vacation in Emsland. Discover the beauty of the landscape by bike on the Emsland Route or use the waterways of the Hase, the Ems, and the Dortmund-Ems Canal for a canoe trip. Emsland is the largest district in Lower Saxony and offers plenty of attractions, such as Clemenswerth Hunting Lodge, built between 1737 and 1747 according to the plans of Baroque architect Johann Conrad Schlaun. The castle is one of the most impressive cultural monuments in northern Germany. Eight lime tree avenues lead to the hunting lodge, which is surrounded by eight pavilions. The 42-hectare forest park invites you for a relaxing walk. Another popular attraction is the Emsland Moormuseum in Meppen. Here, you experience nature and history in a very appealing way. In two exhibition halls, machines, maps, film documents, and reenactments inform about the hard life of the first settlers up to the industrial peat extraction with the world's largest plow. The international nature park Bourtanger Moor-Bargerveen offers a breathtaking play of colors in nature. Depending on the season, the moor shines in various shades. Exciting excursions and eventful paths show you impressive details of what was once the largest contiguous raised bog area in Central Europe. In the open-air museum Von-Velen-Anlage in Papenburg, you can follow in the footsteps of the first settlers. If you are interested in the world of ships, the historical shipbuilding museum of the Meyer Shipyard in Papenburg is the perfect destination. During a tour through the modern visitor center of the shipyard, you experience shipbuilding at its finest. Other attractions in the area of technology include: - Oil and Natural Gas Museum in Twist - Plastics Additives Museum in Lingen - Firefighting Museum in Salzbergen - Excavator Park Emsland A quiet apartment or a holiday home in the spa town of Bad Bentheim offers bathing fun, interesting museums, and a beautiful landscape.

The Emsland Route, with its well-developed bike paths, runs across Lower Saxony. The cities of Lingen, Meppen, and the beautiful ship town of Haren on the Ems invite you to explore. At the many lakes, such as Saller See, you can relax and take a dip during the warm months. The International Nature Park Bourtanger Moor covers 14,000 hectares and is the largest contiguous moor in Central Europe. Among the most popular attractions in the region are: Historical Town Hall in Meppen, Clemenswerth Hunting Lodge, Ludmillenhof in Sögel, Meyer Shipyard in Papenburg, Schloss Dankern in Haren (Ems), Thuine Megalithic Tomb, Emslandmuseum Schloss Clemenswerth in Sögel, Esterwegen Memorial, Rhede (Ems) Agricultural Museum, Emslandmuseum Lingen, Kunsthalle Lingen, Heimathof Emsbüren, Open-Air and Local History Museum Haselünne, Meppen City Museum, and Hüvener Mill.
Active relaxation for children, adventure, and fun – an apartment or a holiday home is perfect for a family-friendly vacation with a dog in Emsland. Whether discovering the graves of giants, water skiing, or frolicking in the hay, boredom is definitely not an option here. The adventures lead through moorlands, along the rivers Ems and Hase to interesting destinations and to holiday farms like Schloß Dankern. The playfulness knows no bounds in this amusement park. Climbing, romping, playing, sliding, riding roller coasters, and jumping – whether outside or inside. The children's paradise around the historic water castle has over 200 play devices. To make playing an unforgettable experience, the Ferris wheel and some other carousels need to be operated by muscle power. The huge covered playground ensures beaming children's eyes even on rainy days. In private houses with gardens and cozy apartments, not only children but also dogs are welcome guests. Thanks to the expansive landscape, you can take long walks with your dog. The moor is an almost exotic, unique habitat.
To truly experience Emsland during a vacation in a holiday home with a garden or in a private apartment, you should definitely try the regional specialties. Food enthusiasts can look forward to numerous homemade dishes and drinks that add something special to your excursions. Whether it's a fine piece of meat, a cool beer, or hearty cheese, there's something for every taste. If you want to enjoy good beer, the Emsländer Landhaus-Brauerei Borchert is the perfect place. Here, high-quality beers such as IPA and Pils are brewed. All beers are unfiltered and homemade. Enjoy the barley juice stylishly in the brewery beer garden under chestnut trees. In the heart of the Moor Nature Park in Twist-Hebelermeer, you'll find the Fehnland Goat Farm. The goat milk forms the basis for Fehnland goat cheese, which is served either with various herbs or plain. Although Wagyu cattle originally come from Japan, they also feel very comfortable on the Hümmling. The meat, considered the best in the world by connoisseurs, is bred in Breddenberg by the Ruhe family. During a farm tour, you get an insight into cattle breeding and can taste the exquisite meat. Another popular cow product in Emsland is fresh milk. At the milk rest stops, you can refresh yourself during a hike or bike tour. In your private house or in your apartment, you can spoil your loved ones with regional delicacies in a fully equipped kitchen.
Culture in Emsland is characterized by creativity and diversity. Although the region does not have large cities, cultural life is still vibrant. The region's interesting cultural offerings include nine historical sites, 134 monuments, and 31 museums. In the city of Lingen, you'll find the Emslandmuseum, which presents information about the history and culture of the region. The open-air theater in Meppen is one of the most visited and well-known open-air theaters in Lower Saxony. Over 300 volunteers work with professional directors and artists to create artistically high-quality productions. Each year, plays, children's and family pieces, and musicals are successfully staged.
