Detached, tastefully and modernly furnished, our comprehensively renovated 2023 holiday home "de rode kouw" (with air conditioning on the ground and upper floor) is located in a quiet cul-de-sac in one of the oldest holiday parks in Zeeland with mature trees and hedges, between Brouwershaven and Renesse on the Grevelingenmeer (municipality of Zierikzee/Schouwen Duiveland/Zeeland). The house offers approx. 65 m² of space for 4 (max. 5) Guests, features two bedrooms (windows with fly screens) with hallway on the upper floor, accessible via a new, open space-saving staircase, and a large living area on the ground floor. High-quality flooring in a light wood look throughout the house ensures a pleasant room atmosphere.
The large, light-flooded living/dining area with open kitchen invites you in summer, with its large glass sliding door to the terrace, to Mediterranean-style living both indoors and outdoors. In the colder season, a wood-burning stove ensures cozy evenings, while the air conditioning provides pleasantly cool temperatures on warm summer days and comforting warmth in winter.
In the living room, the large window seat connects indoors and outdoors. Sofa with chaise longue, captain's chair and TV, CD player, DVD player, radio and free Wi-Fi guarantee relaxed living. The modern, new kitchen is equipped with a large fridge/freezer combination, oven, microwave, Siemens ceramic hob, extractor hood, dishwasher, Senseo coffee machine, kettle, toaster, blender, small food processor, and all important utensils as well as sufficient glasses, dishes, etc. – ideal for cooking together and then enjoying a meal at the round dining table with a view through the large panoramic window into the garden. The bathroom has a new rain shower/hand shower with thermostat (instant water heater), a new washbasin with fittings, new wall-hung toilet, illuminated mirror, cosmetic mirror, and has natural daylight.
You can park your car conveniently right by the house.
The terrace is furnished; electric grill, sun sail and umbrella as well as garden loungers complete the comfort. Thanks to the surrounding high fence and dense hedges, the garden is shielded from prying eyes from outside. The solar shower provides refreshment. Enjoy the peace or play with the children on the spacious lawn!
The playground in the park offers attractive options: soccer goal (lawn), basketball hoop, volleyball net, table tennis table, (disc) swings, climbing frames for the little ones, boules court.
Pets are unfortunately not permitted. The house is not available for group stays. You are staying in a non-smoking house in an allergy-friendly environment. Long-term stays are also possible. Children under six years old should not be left unattended due to the open, unsecured space-saving staircase. Persons with mobility impairments are kindly asked to consult us before booking.
After a day at the nearby North Sea beach, the small sandy beach at the Grevelingenmeer around the corner, or returning from an excursion, enjoy the sunset in your own garden. "de rode kouw" in Meeuwenstein combines comfort and relaxation – for an unforgettable holiday on the Dutch coast.

Immediate surroundings:
Around the corner from our park is a small sandy beach with a defined swimming area (parking lot close to the water), ideal for gentle swimming or wild mud play. The neighboring park Summio (approx. 400 m) offers a small, well-stocked SPAR supermarket with a fresh bakery counter. At Summio, it is possible to rent all kinds of bicycles, boats, etc. This park also offers additional playgrounds, mini golf, jumping cushions, go-karts, indoor play area, and much more. Approximately 1.1 km away in the neighboring village of Scharendijke is the large, perfectly stocked supermarket with an impressive selection of baked goods and spirits, fresh fish offerings, a drugstore with a selection of newspapers (also in German), pharmacy items and everyday necessities as well as household goods and beach accessories.
The one from the 13th century. The historic town of Brouwershaven, with its old town center, all buildings as well as the city weigh house and Brouwse Museum, is completely under monument protection, as is the large Sint-Niclaas Church from the 15th century, where not only church services but also interesting exhibitions take place. Brouwershaven invites you to enjoy its lovely restaurants at the harbor and in the historic alleys. And the great ice cream parlor is definitely worth a walk there! Scharendijke is located about 1.4 km away from the center and also offers many restaurants and bars, especially the windmill at the roundabout, known for its delicious pancakes.
You can easily reach the North Sea and its 18 km long, magnificent sandy beach by bike in about 10 minutes (4 km). If you want to get into the water quickly, use the jetty and the gently sloping steps into the Grevelingenmeer directly at our park entrance at the duikerspunt (opposite the restaurant Even Pause). Water sports enthusiasts get their money’s worth both in front of and behind the Brouwersdam. Kite and windsurfing in the North Sea or sailing, diving, paddling, SUP, windsurfing, swimming in the calmer Grevelingenmeer – advanced users can rent equipment there, and those who want to learn can find schools and obtain certificates.
The fashionable Renesse (approx. 7 km) offers chic boutiques, many different restaurants, bars and cafés, and a well-maintained, sophisticated 18-hole golf course. The quieter Burgh-Haamstede (18 km) with its small castle and castle garden houses a historic lighthouse in the nearby forest area. The lively municipal capital Zierikzee (9 km) attracts with its museum of Zeeland history, a large, colorful weekly market with local and exotic offerings, historic fortifications and drawbridges that bear witness to the eventful history of this old, important trading city, appealing restaurants & cafés for every taste, ice cream parlors, handicrafts from small shops, beautiful boutiques and department stores. Wider surroundings: Goes and Middelburg, both medieval towns, Yerseke – the paradise for oyster and mussel lovers, Vlissingen with its industrial port, Oostkappelle natural history museum.
Day trips, for example, to Rotterdam, to the EURO-Port, The Hague, Delft, Breda, Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent complete the excursion options. Sports opportunities:

Dear guests, we are pleased about your stay in our cozy, well-appointed holiday home. We have developed it into a modern residence with the help of many craftsmen and just as much of our own work. In one of the oldest holiday parks in Zeeland with mature trees and a large distance to the neighboring houses you will find peace and relaxation, or play with the children in our completely fenced, private garden, enjoy the sun all day around the house and/or look forward to a blazing fireplace in the cooler season, which you light after a walk on the beach. Due to the open, railing-free space-saving staircase, children under 6 years should not be left unattended in the house. We ourselves come regularly to enjoy the Zeeland flair and wish you a relaxing time as well!
