Location and surroundings of object
The house is located in the holiday park Villapark Residentie Texel and is managed by the holiday park De Krim. The holiday park is situated near De Cocksdorp.
Cocksdorp is the northernmost place on the island of Texel, near the lighthouse and the nature reserves De Slufter and De Krim. It is a relatively young village on Texel, known for its tranquility, nature, and proximity to the North Sea.
In the village there are small shops and restaurants where you can enjoy the typical Texel cuisine. In summer, a weekly market takes place there on Thursdays.
The village was named after the Belgian initiator of the diking of Eierland, Nicolas Joseph de Cock.
Texel is the largest Dutch Wadden Island and known for its diverse nature and rich wildlife.
It offers a mix of beaches, dunes, polders, forests, and heathlands.
- Beaches: Texel has a 30 km long sandy beach, inviting for sunbathing, hiking, and water sports. - Dunes: the dune landscape is an important habitat for many plants and animals and offers opportunities for hiking and exploring.
- Polders and forests: in the interior of the island you will find green polder landscapes and extensive forest areas, which also invite hiking and cycling.
- Wadden Sea: the west side of Texel borders the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site known for its unique flora and fauna. A large part of the island is designated as a nature reserve, including the national park “Dunes of Texel”.
- Villages and sights: Texel has seven cozy villages, each with its own character. Especially Den Burg and De Koog invite you to shop with numerous large and small stores.
There are several museums that provide insights into the history and culture of the island.
The lighthouse of Texel is a landmark of the island and offers a beautiful view over the surroundings. The Center for Nature and the Sea, ECOMARE, is a must for nature lovers and offers the opportunity to observe seals and other marine animals.
On the beaches of Texel you can go windsurfing, kitesurfing, and practice other water sports.
A mudflat hike in the Wadden Sea is an unforgettable experience.
Numerous cultural and culinary festivals take place over the course of the summer. In summary, Texel is an island with diverse nature that has something to offer for every taste. Whether nature lovers, active vacationers, or culture enthusiasts, everyone gets their money’s worth on Texel.
