Description
Welcome to our holiday home, located in the picturesque village of Rysum in East Frisia. Our typical non-smoking holiday home dating back to 1899 was completely renovated in 2016, furnished to a high standard and equipped with the latest comforts. With great attention to detail, the interplay of old and new has created a cosy atmosphere that invites you to forget the stresses of everyday life and recharge your batteries.
A large living and dining room as well as a terrace with seating area and beach chair, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a guest WC offer space for up to 5 guests on 110 square metres of living space.
The generously proportioned living and dining area offers space for socialising at the large dining table, but also for cosy evenings on the sofa or to immerse yourself in a book in the armchair.
Thanks to a collection of games, books, DVDs and two LED flat-screen TVs, you will feel at home in the cottage even on stormy days.
The fully equipped, high-quality kitchenette has everything you need for cooking and baking, from a toaster to an oven and microwave.
On the ground floor there is also a bedroom with a double bed (180x200), a bathroom with a walk-in shower and a guest WC with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms and another bathroom with a shower.
The smaller bedroom has a single bed (80x200) and a small reading corner with an armchair that can also be converted into a bed if required.
The larger bedroom is furnished with a small double bed (140x200).
On the small terrace there is a seating area with a large table and parasol as well as a beach chair.
Surrounded by bushes and hedges, you can sit here sheltered from view and wind until well into the evening hours.
There is a Weber barbecue in the shed for cosy barbecue evenings. You can also store your bicycles here.

Location and surroundings of object
Our holiday home is located in the middle of the historic centre of Rysum, one of the 18 Warfendörfen in the municipality of Krummhörn. Designed as a circular village, everything in Rysum revolves around the 13th century church with the oldest playable organ in Northern Europe (1457). Lovers of classical music can also enjoy the "World Classical Concerts" in the Fuhrmannshof.
The historic windmill was rebuilt and restored a few years ago and invites you to visit the mill. A marvellous panoramic view awaits you from the gallery. In good weather, you can even see as far as the Netherlands.
You can also see the small natural beach near the village from here. It can be reached in a few minutes by car in the direction of Knock or by bike through the fields or on a long walk.
Painting courses are held regularly in the studio in the "Alte Bäckerei" (old bakery) and the local restaurants and the village bakery provide fresh rolls, bread and cakes every morning.
Shopping facilities can be found 8 km away in Pewsum or in the DOC centre in Emden.
Not far from Emden and close to the sea, Rysum offers numerous excursion possibilities. The seaport of Emden attracts visitors with its museum ships in the Ratsdelft and art gallery.
The fishing village of Greetsiel with its cafés, restaurants and small shops invites you to browse and enjoy.
In Norden/ Norddeich, 30 minutes away by car, there is a lot to discover in the Waloseum, the seal station or the tea museum, or you can simply spend the day by the sea.
Evenburg Castle near Leer is also worth a visit, as is the historic old town of Leer and the monastery in Ihlow or on safe wooden paths through the "Eternal Sea", Germany's largest raised bog lake?
Thanks to an extensive network of cycle paths, the municipality of Krummhörn is a wonderful place to explore by bike. In addition to the villages and their churches, to which the "Krummhörn church tower tour" takes you, you will also come across castles and lighthouses and there is always a view of the water from the dyke.
Beyond the dykes, excursions to the islands of Borkum, Norderney, Juist, Baltrum or to the neighbouring Dutch towns of Groningen, Appingedam or Delfzijl are tempting.

Loving and extensive furnishings
A beautiful and cozy holiday home with everything and more that one might need or could use. Additionally, one can also sit outside, even under a cover, and grill. It brings good vibes to be here.
