Lohme on Rügen is a charming little seaside resort located on the northern shore of the island of Rügen. The seaside resort is surrounded by a picturesque landscape of forests, meadows and hills, bordered to the north by the Baltic Sea. This makes Lohme a favourite destination for nature lovers and hikers alike.
One of the highlights of Lohme is undoubtedly the Jasmund National Park. This impressive national park is famous for its majestic chalk cliffs and offers a network of hiking trails and viewpoints with breathtaking views of the coast. Close to the national park is the Königsstuhl with its visitor centre, which provides a wealth of information about the geology and history of the area.
And if you are interested in history and ruins, Dwasieden near Sassnitz is the place to be. The Dwasieden Castle manor house was located in the immediate vicinity of the Baltic Sea. The former fishing villages of Vitt and Neu Mukran are also well worth a visit. The two small villages have a maritime history and offer a charming and idyllic atmosphere.
