Location and surroundings of object
This wonderful estate, recently restored, lies on a wide-ranging plot of land, with a magnificent view across the plain to the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Elba Isle. It is situated in a very quiet and isolated position, surrounded by olive groves, Mediterranean low-forest and shady pines. It is not far from the sand beaches of San Vincenzo and of the Baratti Gulf (at ca 23 km), and from the hot thermal spring “Il Calidario” in Venturina 15 km, Suvereto 8 km. The surroundings invite to excursions in the medieval little villages of Massa Marittima, Campiglia Marittima, Populonia and Castagneto Carducci. In the house there are four apartments and an apartment annexed. In the same property, at 100 m of distance, lies another small house „Leccino“ (see SU2). In Suvereto you’ll find different kind of shops, bank, postal office, pharmacy, pizzeria-restaurants. The small town is situated on a hill north of the valley of the River Cornia (Val di Cornia), about 15 km from the sandy beaches of San Vincenzo and 9 km from the thermal bath in Venturina away. Suvereto has a well-preserved medieval old town, about this there are the remains of the Aldobrandesca Rocca, a medieval castle, under the domination of Pisa in the 13th Century was built and rebuilt several times, a city wall in the form of a pentagon, with eight towers. The town hall \"Palazzo Comunale\" with a beautiful loggia (early 13 Century), a Franciscan convent (built 1286-1288) which was dissolved under Napoleonic rule in 1808. Get is a beautiful cloister. The natural park is located in the center of a vast Montioni with Mediterranean scrub and oaks and holm oak forests covered area, and appears to the visitor as an island of green hills. After Populonia (Etruscan tombs) and the Gulf of Baratti (rocky shore and sandy beach) is about 22 km, Massa Marittima 25 km and the sandy beaches of Follonica 27 km.
