Location and surroundings of object
Resort Poort van Amsterdam is characterised by the unique location. It does not get any more genuinely North Holland than this: the authentic town of Uitdam and its surroundings, the water of the Markermeer and the lively capital Amsterdam, just fifteen minutes away by car.
The resort, which opened in 2016, has a broad selection of different, luxurious holiday homes and apartments. The entire resort was built in the style that you might expect here: authentic on the outside, but equipped inside with all luxury, comfort, and amenities. And that is truly the case for the whole resort. You get the feeling that you are staying in a separate village.
Because practically all of the houses are directly on water-thoroughfare, Resort Poort van Amsterdam is especially suited to water sports enthusiasts due to the beach, the water sports centre and the marina by appointment. But nature lovers will also find these surroundings interesting. The many water fowl, extensive meadows, and diverse nature reserves in the immediate vicinity offer plenty of opportunities.
On the resort itself, you will not have a moment of boredom. There are various facilities for young and old. These vary from a covered swimming pool to playgrounds and from a spa to a hip, stylish restaurant with a cosy bar and terrace. Here you can enjoy wonderful dishes or simply enjoy a bite to eat and a drink. For fresh rolls in the morning and the small daily groceries, you will find what you need in the mini-market. For the little ones, there is an indoor play paradise.
There is plenty to do in the area. There are various public golf courses. Fort Beemster is located just 15 km away. In this impressive building listed as a Unesco World Heritage site, a unique spa and wellness centre and restaurant have been tastefully created. The combination of historical elements, the surprising design, and the natural environment of the Beemsterpolder will make a visit into an unforgettable experience. The capital Amsterdam is located just 13 km away. This city needs no further explanation, which you must have seen. Cities like Haarlem (40 km) and Alkmaar (42 km) are also certainly worth a visit. Cosy terraces and restaurants and, of course, shopping streets. Alkmaar is the fifth-largest shopping town in the Netherlands. The fishing village of Volendam (14 km) is also worth a visit. Do you want to really experience North Holland life in the 18th and 19th centuries? Then visit the Zaanse Schans (18 km). Old trades, special museums, working windmills, and magnificent old houses, you will find it all here.
In short, Resort Poort van Amsterdam has it all! Whether you want an active holiday, are a nature lover, or are looking for a good starting point to explore North-Holland, you can find it all here. Happy holidays!
The Poort Van Amsterdam Resort lies right on the Markermeer, just outside the beautiful town of Uitdam. It has many facilities and, thanks to its location along the water and the harbour, is a true paradise for water sports enthusiasts. The capital of Amsterdam is only 13 km away. The Poort Van Amsterdam Resort has it all!

Overall assessment

It was a good and neatly cared for house, spacious rooms with all the trimmings, the only thing we missed is a coat-rack. The stay was doable despite the fact that the catering industry was closed by corona. Take-away options were available, such as fresh sandwiches and fries and snacks for the evening, and dishes could also be ordered from the restaurant, all in all so well taken care of !!!

environment a lot of variety and beautiful. House is for 8 people. There are indeed 8 beds, but the kitchen / living room is not suitable for that. We were four and the downstairs area is perfect for that. But I wouldn't want to stay here with eight people.

Accommodation was not clean. Unfortunately not as spacious as outlined on the site.

Despite the beautiful location of the park and the appearance of the park itself, the queues at the reception and the villa were quite disappointing. It already started when we arrived at the reception at 3 pm on Friday afternoon to check in. Despite the corona virus, in addition to the fact that only one person per household was allowed to enter the reception, no further measures had been taken and we therefore stood in line with many other households. While this could easily have been solved by working with time slots. This already resulted in a first point of irritation, but unfortunately it did not stop there. It turned out that after the day of departure it still takes at least ten days to get the deposit back to the account, which we thought took quite a long time as a student. In addition, the villa was not properly cleaned. There was still dust, food scraps, confetti or other filth in various places in the house. In addition, there were many dead insects on the various windowsills. We found this very remarkable since we paid € 110 in cleaning costs, while it was not even clean. Fortunately, this was neatly resolved by having the cleaning ladies come over again, but we still did not understand why this was not done right immediately. However, to our horror, our villa turned out to be very attractive to all kinds of insects. The villa was full of mosquitoes, flies, wasps and even mosquito larvae. We bought citronella candles ourselves and sprayed a lot with insect sprays, but unfortunately this did not help. This was a shame for a villa that is considered luxury. At the very least you would expect insect screens to keep the insects out. Incidentally, we did not understand why it was called a villa. It was a fairly large house with two bathrooms and lovely beds, this was very nice, but it did not meet the comforts of a villa, for example the refrigerator and extractor hood did not work too well and there were du

Management of the reception was very good. Accommodation corresponded to the description. Good price performance ratio. Environment is worth seeing. Beautiful landscape. Short distance to Amsterdam. The sea is also easily accessible.

The complex is at first glance very nice and makes a reasonable impression. After we had moved to our house, we had several defects such as hood in kitchen does not work, ventilation of the toilet and bathrooms did not work. We had given this 2 times to the responsible persons but within the 2 weeks stay no one has come to fix this. In front of all the windows, we had to remove a lot of spiders and mosquitoes before we could open them, which also had to be done daily, if you are not on spiders in the bed. The cleaning in the house leaves from our point of view very much to be desired. The staff in the small shop, as well as in the restaurant are very hard-working and friendly. The food in the restaurant has a good price-performance ratio and is quite tasty. The bicycles which you can rent are in a condition like this after a good year actually should not be. This shows that nobody cares about this. The outdoor area is quite well maintained and is very nice to watch.

Beautifully located, near the Markermeer. Is the ideal base for those who like cycling. A visit to Marken and Volendam is definitely recommended. The playgrounds in the Twiske recreation area are also fun for children. Despite the fact that the park is new, there are some points of attention for us. The vowels of the cottage were lowered (read a well of 40cm deep) which is not safe for children. We had a lot of mosquitoes that kept us busy at night, which could be solved with a simple flyer. Further, there is everything in the cottage to spend a nice holiday.

Park was well maintained and tidy.Personnel very friendly. Good restaurant. Far away so everything had to be done by car.

Great fun stay in Uitdam

The house wasn't on the water. The furniture in the house is very worn. Stones collapsed outside so that children could injure themselves.
