Description
Being a guest at Villa Mara is an unforgettable experience. The view over the coastline between Olhão in the east and far to the west is breathtaking on clear days.
Almost countless places invite you to linger and marvel. Whether already in the morning from the bed, with the breakfast at the dining table, occasionally on the roof terrace, with the lunch snack at the pool, in the afternoon on the Bouleplatz, with the grill under the Pergola or on the Veranda into the night - always the soul is enchanted by this view.
The well-kept house accommodates the living area in the upper floor. Thanks to the hillside location, one reaches the spacious corridor from the north side at ground level and from there into the well-equipped kitchen as well as into the utility room with washing machine and dryer.
The light-flooded living room is of course in preferred south position. The cosy sofa set by the fireplace stove and the invitingly large dining table find their place here as well as the "winter garden", which was once the terrace and in which you can now use the various seating areas all year round for reading, listening or philosophising - naturally with a view of the blue Atlantic Ocean.
In the side wings there are bedrooms and bathrooms. To the left the master bedroom with en suite bathroom and to the right two bedrooms with a shared shower in the middle. Two of the three bedrooms have access to the terrace and sea views.
Over the 45m² veranda with two electric awnings and a round dining table an outside staircase leads to the pool area one level lower. The large saltwater pool is well-kept and offers all around berths and seats, alternatively in the sun or in the shade. Here in the basement there is also the fourth bedroom, which can be booked with more than 6 persons. It has its own bathroom en suite.
Holidays at Villa Mara are just as attractive for a couple as for a group of up to 8 people. Every guest will find here his favourite corner to stay and if necessary you can meet at one of the many tables for a meal or a game, for a round of boules or a cooling off in the That's how a holiday goes!

Location and surroundings of object
The property lies in an exclusive location on a loosely populated hill at the edge of the highest mountain of the Eastern Algarve, the "São Miguel". The various terraces are not visible from the neighbours and so you can enjoy 100% privacy with pleasant peace. Many Algarve-typical trees and shrubs surround the stony plots and offer a natural home to birds, cicadas and geckos.
For shopping you have the choice between the friendly city "São Brás de Alportel" in the hinterland (9km), the smaller towns Estoi and Moncarapacho (5 or 9km) or the lively port city Olhão with its famous market (10km). Faro also offers a variety of shopping opportunities both in the city centre and in the surrounding area.
Beaches can be reached in a star shape along the entire coast at your feet ( Praia de Faro or Praia da Fuseta (17km each).
The nearest golf courses are for example "São Lorenço" near Almancil (approx. 25km) or "Benamor" near Tavira (approx. 30km).

Perfect villa with a stunning view
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Mara. A beautiful house, with the most amazing view. What a great place! The house is very comfortable. The kitchen was brand new. Everything is there. A cosy corner to sit in all parts of the house and garden. No matter what the weather is like you will find somewhere to relax and enjoy the view. The pool was a bit chilly which is normal this early in the season, but you can sit out of the wind and enjoy the sun here all day long. Very friendly welcome from Jens and Uli (the owner) Both available for any information. Top service! We loved everything about our holiday here ?

Beautiful house with a view.
We spent 18 relaxing days here during the Corona pandemic. The house is wonderfully quiet in the hills above Faro with a fantastic view over Olhao and Faro. The house is above average in terms of equipment, even if the kitchen is slightly outdated, everything necessary for the hobby cook is available. The utility room with washing machine and dryer is also great, so you can limit your luggage. A nice barbecue area and the large, very well-kept and private pool complete the overall picture. The beds are super comfortable and the sea view from the bedrooms is a dream. The on-site support is friendly and prompt. We would love to come back!
Small note for everyone: A car is absolutely necessary - preferably off-road, as there are several inclines and a few bad stretches of road.
