Description
The long-stretched Casa Formosa with apartment, studio and our house is located in the middle of a large property with old trees. In three heavenly directions, the area descends from there to the tranquil valley. This allows all units maximum privacy, so our guests repeatedly emphasize that the other residents hardly noticed.
Via the access road with electric gate, you can get behind the house, where guests have a car park with a shaded roof. In the middle of the house there is a communal laundry room, next door is the entrance to the studio (see "Studio" apartment), a staircase leads to the 120m² roof terrace with sea view.
On the west side of Casa Formosa is the apartment advertised here. It has to south-west a very private garden of about 1500m² size. Various terraces and plateaus with sea view invite you to linger. In the garden there are fruit, almond and olive trees as well as a play area with football goal, in the old tree dangles a swing. A further highlight are the outdoor kitchen with barbecue and the panoramic terrace with shaded roof and summer shower - all exclusively for the guests of the apartment.
If you are traveling with more than 4 people, studio and apartment can also be rented together. They are separated by two doors, acoustic and optical separation has been taken care of during construction.
Both units are also suitable for a holiday at a cooler time of the year, because all rooms have economic wall heating. There is also a wood-burning stove in the apartment.

Description Apartment:
The apartment is accessed via a large glass door. The round archway leads into the spacious living area, which is divided into the kitchen and living room. The three windows of the living room face south-west and offer a view over the garden to the sea ...
The heart of the living room is the cast-iron stove, which is located on a rustic brickyard. There is a dining table, a sofa and a corner with music, TV and Internet. The adjacent "blue" kitchen is high-quality and well thought-out, so that even complex menus can be cooked without any problem.
To the north are the two bedrooms positioned. The beds can be used as a double or single bed. Both rooms have their own wall-mounted closet and ceiling fan. The walls adorn the works of local artists. The large tastefully tiled bathroom with tub is located between the two bedrooms with access to the hallway.

From Olhão there are all-year ferry services to Ilha de Armona and Ilha da Culatra. Here you can enjoy endless beach walks along the Atlantic and visit the restaurants depending on the season. The ferries run probably every day but not very often, so it is recommended to know the departure times before (pdf-ferry plan). The investors are located in the east of the harbor promenade.
In Quelfes, about 1 km north-east of Olhão, a flea market takes place on the 4th and 5th Sunday of the month.

The Casa Formosa apartment with its beautiful Mediterranean garden and sea view is a place to relax and enjoy! The hosts Heidi and Jens are extremely helpful, hospitable, but still very discreet!
Everything was just right!
An oasis that we would like to book again another time.

Alles bestens
Super Appartement, geräumig und gemütlich. Der Garten ist wunderschön und groß, sogar Boule kann man dort spielen und das Meer leuchtet in der Ferne. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet - es ist einfach alles da, an alles wurde gedacht, habe ich so noch nie erlebt. Die Vermieter sind ausgesprochen nett und hilfreich, man fühlt i´sich gleich willkommen und zuhause.

Schöne Urlaubstage an der Algarve
Der Urlaub im Apartment Casa Formosa war super. Wir haben uns sehr gut erholt. Das Haus war ausgesprochen sauber und gepflegt. Wenn man sich selbst verpflegen möchte, ist alles in der Küche vorhanden. Insbesondere hat uns der Garten mit seinen verschiedenen Sitz- und Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten und einer wunderbaren Aussicht gefallen. Wir durften uns auch an den reifen Granatäpfeln bedienen, die an einem Strauch hingen. Sehr lecker!
Heidi und Jens sind ausgesprochen nette und angenehme Gastgeber, die immer ansprechbar waren und in keiner Weise aufdringlich sind.
Da wir nur im Urlaub Auto fahren, war die Auffahrt zum Gästeparkplatz - insbesondere im Dunkeln - eine kleine Herausforderung.

Haus und Garten zum Entspannen
Sehr geschmackvoll, aber unaufdringlich eingerichtete Ferienwohnung, in der der es einem an nichts mangelt. Alles ist sehr gut durchdacht und funktioniert.
Der Garten ist traumhaft schön und hat man midestens drei Sitz- bzw. Liegeplätze im Schatten oder auch in der Sonne zur Verfügung.

Am liebsten wären wir dort geblieben!
Wie soll man ein Feriendomizil beschreiben, welches man doch am liebsten das halbe Jahr selbst mieten würde? Leider gibt es da so eine Sache die mit "Arbeit" zu tun hat.
Wir hatten das Appartement gemietet und gleich vom ersten Augenblick in unser Herz geschlossen....nein es war der zweite Augenblick , denn die Anreise im Dunkeln war schon ein kleines Abenteuer. Die unbefestigte Straße und der steile Anstieg am Haus war eine klitzekleine Herausforderung. Aber auch gleich die erste sehr angenehme Überraschung, denn wir wurden vom super netten Vermieter-Ehepaar Heidi und Jens, noch bei hell erleuchtetem Haus spät nachts empfangen. Also alles gut und die Auffahrt schafft jeder, wenn man weiß das das Gaspedal rechts ist und in diesem Fall auch genutzt werden sollte.
Vieles wurde in den Rezessionen vorher schon beschrieben, aber es gibt wirklich nichts was nicht passt. Es ist alles da und es blitz vor Sauberkeit.
Wir haben traumhaft gut auf den Matzen geschlafen und die Ruhe ist wirklich phantastisch. Leider war die Zeit zu kurz um wirklich jede Sitzgelegenheit in diesem paradiesischen Garten ausgenutzt zu haben. Es ist wie im Wunderland und es gibt an jeder Ecke etwas zu entdecken und immer wieder dieser atemberaubende Ausblick in die Natur und nicht weit entfernt...dass Meer.
Alle Daumen zeigen bei uns nach oben und eins ist ganz sicher. Wir kommen wieder!

Auf der Höhe ...
... ist die Casa Formosa in zweierlei Hinsicht: Man hat von hier neben der Schönheit im harmonisch gestalteten Nahbereich des Gartens eine weite und weitgehend unverbaute Sicht in die Umgebung , die (uns) auch mental öffnet. Die Ausstattung und die Betreuung durch Heidi und Jens sind perfekt.
Eine ideale Unterkunft, wenn man Ruhe genießen kann und dafür auch bereit ist, an die Ria, zu den vorgelagerten Stränden, in das wunderschöne und facettenreiche Kleinstädtchen Olhao und damit zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mit Frischfisch in den Markthallen, Obst und Gemüse auf dem Samstagsmarkt, allem anderen in modernen Supermärkten kurze Autofahrten zu unternehmen.
Ganz ohne Auto gibt es die nähere Umgebung auf zahlreichen Spazierwegen zu erkunden.
Die Bewertung nach den nachgenannten Kategorien fällt deshalb schwer und ist ohne das Geschriebene wenig aussagekräftig. Zu empfehlen ist die Unterkunft ganz bestimmt, aber nicht speziell für eine der genannten Gruppen.

Wunderschön !!!
Wir hatten das Apartement für 2 ½ Monate gemietet und fühlten uns gleich nach unserer Ankunft "wie zu Hause". All' den überaus positiven Bewertungen und Anmerkungen können wir aus vollem Herzen zustimmen. Es ist einfach in jeder Hinsicht wunderschön!
Heidi und Jens sind sehr sympathische und hilfsbereite Gastgeber und als Nachbarn überaus angenehm.
Wenn das Studio dazu gemietet wird, ist es auch für eine große Familie sehr komfortabel. Aber auch, wenn im Studio ein
fremder Gast wohnt, bleibt man ungestört.
Wir freuen uns bereits jetzt auf unseren nächsten Aufenthalt

Jewel with sea view
A truly recommendable gem in every respect.
The flat is very well laid out, fully furnished - absolutely nothing is missing - and, above all, spotlessly clean (which is not always a matter of course in Portugal)
Three different terraces - two of them with a fantastic sea view - make it pleasantly difficult to decide where to have breakfast every time.
The hosts are both very nice and happy to help if you need information or have any other questions (" Where can we get a delicious portion of fresh ameijoas tonight?")
All in all: If you don't have a dream holiday here, it's your own fault - it's certainly not the fault of the flat or the landlords!

Pure relaxation
The flat of Casa Formosa was recommended to us by a former guest and the very well-maintained, clean property, designed with great attention to detail, corresponded exactly to this description. All around, the view sweeps into the distance. Cosy seating areas make it possible, depending on the weather and the position of the sun, to enjoy the stay at any time of the day in the very well thought-out garden. If you love nature, are looking for peace and quiet and appreciate reliable, friendly contact persons as landlords, you will find here an ideal place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere amidst flowers and old trees.
The location is favourable for a variety of activities in the Ria Formosa, for bird watching, mudflat walks, boat trips, swimming in the Atlantic Ocean or simply strolling and eating delicious food, e.g. in Tavira
The flat is well equipped and clean.
For older people with limited mobility, it might be difficult to get into the bath to take a shower. However, there is a sheltered outdoor shower at ground level.

Goldener Herbst an der Algarve
Ein wunderschönes, geschmackvoll eingerichtets Haus mit großem gepflegten Garten, das keine Wünsche öffen lässt. Man ist auf dem Lande und hat das Meer im Blick. Zu den Stränden und zur Ria Formosa ist es nicht weit und auch die Cafes, Märkte und Restaurants in den Orten an der Küste und im Hinterland sind schnell erreicht. Heidi und Jens sind die perfekten Gastgeber - charmant und immer zu Stelle, wenn man sie braucht, zugleich aber auch so zurückhaltend, dass man sich in der Casa Formosa fühlen kann, wie in einen eingenen Haus.

Great flat with beautiful large garden
We stayed at Casa Formosa with our two children (four years and 10 months). Heidi and Jens are friendly, reserved hosts and take very good care of their guests. You can always ask, but you don't get to hear much from them, as the flat has its very own area on the property
The flat is very well equipped and above average clean and well maintained, spacious and bright. We especially liked the huge, beautiful and well-kept garden where you can harvest almonds and pomegranates and discover a lot.
The location is good, it is only about ten to fifteen minutes by car to various beaches and to Olhao
We can highly recommend this accommodation!

Holidays to feel good all around
An eventful holiday in the beautiful coastal landscape of the Algarve lies behind us - and the warm hospitality of Heidi and Jens as well as the location and facilities of Casa Formosa contributed to this.
A lot of praise has already been written about the equipment of the holiday home - especially the kitchen - in the reviews. We can confirm all of this!
We love to visit the local markets on holiday and cook, fry or grill with the fresh products. The kitchen offers everything you need for cooking and in a great quality. Heidi and Jens even pay attention to details so that their guests feel comfortable.
What you should definitely do:
- get up shortly before 8am and drive to the market in Olhao in about 15 minutes. Buy fresh fish (for the evening) and oranges (for fresh orange juice to go with the fruit). Ask Heidi where to find the best baker in Olhao.
- take a refreshing shower in the outdoor shower at the sun terrace and then enjoy the view of the sea with tapas and chilled vino verde.
- Watching the starry sky on the roof terrace - perhaps with a cool Sagres or a Super Bock :-) .
- visit the nearby Ria Formosa nature reserve.
The location of the accommodation is such that you can visit all destinations in the Algarve, from the Portuguese/Spanish border to the most south-western point of mainland Europe, by rental car.

Rundum einfach schön
Wir haben die Zeit im und ums Casa Formosa einfach vollkommen geniessen können. Der Garten ist eine traumhafte Oase.
