Description
The 19th century finca has been restored with great attention to detail and is very spacious (170 sqm). The house is situated on a slope, in the middle of a large garden (1500 m²) with old almond, olive and fig trees. The living area includes the kitchen, the sala (hall), the fireplace room and the patio. The 3 bedrooms are deliberately separated from each other.
The fireplace room connects the historical with the modern part of the building. In the mild Algarve winter it invites you to stay with an open fire. Wood is available.
The 26 m² kitchen-living room is located in the historical part under wooden beams. It is furnished with antique furniture from Provence, so that cooking is fun. The 2m long oak dining table comfortably seats a family with friends. Since 2012 there is a stainless steel electric cooker with ceramic hob, next to it the double sink, dishwasher and a tall fridge.
For breakfast you will find everything, such as a coffee machine. Microwave, e-egg cooker, bread slicer and e-juicer in the former fireplace
The house has two bathrooms with WC. In the new building with bathtub and washbasin, in the old building with Scandinavian shower, bidet, washbasin and washing machine. All windows are barred and the windows in the new building have thermopane windows with fly screens.
There is also an additional baby cot in the large bedroom
In the shady patio (inner courtyard) with a view into the garden and up to the Pousade of Bras you can have breakfast or spend the day relaxing on one of the 3 garden loungers while reading from my small library. 2 large sunshades provide protection where you want it.
For romantics I have about 60 - 80 CD's
For cool evenings in autumn and winter the fireplace warms you, for quiet hours there are various games or a small library.
Especially in the evening, at sunset, with a fantastic view of the Atlantic, over the small town of Sao Bras and a glass of Vinho Verde, you can dine and chat romantically on the roof terrace.
Garden furniture and three sun loungers with mattresses are available, as well as two Hollywod swings.
The 1500 sqm garden, which is situated on a slope, is divided into two terraced levels. Each terrace has its own character.
If you like to relax under the trees, you will find many cosy, quiet spots where you can completely retreat.
Children can climb large trees in the garden or set up an existing tent to sleep outside. For the very young, there are inflatable paddling pools of different sizes, lots of sand and beach toys and parasols for the beach.
The barbecue area with brick barbecue, beer garden table and benches is located behind the house (for the sake of disturbing smoke) in a particularly beautiful spot with a view of the "Nightingale Valley" and a Hollywood swing.
The panorama from the roof terrace is unique. Breakfast and undisturbed sunbathing in the gentle breeze are unsurpassed there.

Location and surroundings of object
The house is situated on a slope, in the middle of a large garden (1500 m2) with old almond, olive, medlar and fig trees. It is very quiet with Portuguese, German and English neighbours.
At its feet is the small town of São Brás de Alportel. From the roof terrace of the house, the eye sweeps beyond São Brás over the Sierra de Monte Figo to Faro on the Atlantic Ocean, 17 km away. On a clear day, you can see the lights of the fishing boats leaving at night.
The surrounding area has retained its rural character. To the north is the sparsely populated Serra do Malhão with traditional mountain villages. Less than half an hour's drive from São Brás, you are in the middle of the wilderness.
No through traffic, few neighbours, 2 Portuguese, 3 English families (one of which has the keys to the house), 2 German houses,
The centre of the small town of São Brás is a 20-minute walk from the house. There are supermarkets,restaurants,banks,new gr market hall(weekdays till 1pm , Saturdays country people fresh fruit üse) and freshly caught fish are offered.
10 feet is the very nice supermarket "Pinco Doce".
There are ice cream parlours and restaurants serving local fish specialities, with local or international cuisine.
Between Roman ruins and the church, São Brás has a very idyllic swimming pool with an excellent restaurant - also open in the evening. Since 2008, there is now also a very modern indoor swimming pool.
Close to the house there is a small corner shop where you can get fresh bread in the morning. This small "supermercado" is also one of the very few shops licensed to serve loose wine directly from the barrel.
A small, nice restaurant is also just a few minutes' walk away (a few hundred metres in the direction of Sao Bras).
Downhill, in the direction of Loulé (about a foot) in Vilarinhos, a very good restaurant with local cuisine has opened since 2012. In winter with open fireplace and winter garden.
São Brás is about 17 km north of Faro.
There are year-round flights to Faro from most German airports.
Via the nearby motorway you can reach Seville/Spain-Andalusia in 1 1/2 hours or Lisbon in 3 hours.

Nice and central accommodation for all kinds of activities
we have stayed in this beautiful accommodation several times and can fully recommend it. Very nice landlady and manager on site.
Quiet and central location and plenty of space for couples, larger groups or families. Large beautiful and well-kept garden, everything is available in the house.
Plenty of shopping and restaurants in Sao Bras.
We like to come back.

Very beautiful house with garden
We had two wonderful weeks at Casa Colina Verde.
The house is located away from the village in a beautiful quiet hillside location among locals. It is cozy and lovingly furnished, equipped with everything you need for your holiday, even a beach tent, toys, and various paddling pools are available.
The kitchen is very well equipped. We didn't miss anything!
The communication with the landlady is flawless, fast, and very warm.
The village of Sao Bras is also within walking distance.
The Casa is an ideal starting point for many trips in the surrounding area. It is recommended to rent a car.
Shopping possibilities: Some supermarkets are available in Alportel and there is also a Lidl.
We found the most beautiful beach in Fuseta. With the ferry or water taxi, you can easily get to the offshore islands with a beautiful sandy beach, where the water is shallow. Ideal for small children. Our son loved it.
The only downer on this vacation were the many mosquitoes at the time, which did not allow us to enjoy the beautiful roof terrace in the evenings. However, we enjoyed our coffee there in the morning and admired the sunrise.

Beautiful time on the Algarve
We had a very nice time at the Algarve this summer. As a starting point to explore the Algarve, Casa Colina Verde is highly recommended. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and were positively surprised by the spacious and lovingly furnished Casa. All in all, we had a very nice time in Portugal.

As a music lover, I have always been a choral singer since my earliest youth. In Bayreuth and here in Hamburg also in the Hamburg State Opera and the Singakademie, I have been able to sing with the most famous conductors and singers. Here in Hamburg, I often host young foreign students from all over the world for a few months who are doing their practical training here. So I am always together with other young people and learn a lot about their countries and customs.
