Brouwershaven, Veere and Zierikzee. Scharendijke has 7 restaurants, supermarket, 2 dive centers and dive site
Our cosy house is close to the beaches of the North Sea and Brouwersdam. A beautiful walk of about 15-30 minutes along the old wall on the dyke and you are already in the North Sea and Brouwersdam.
By car 2 minutes after the Brouwersdam with FREE PARKING
TIP: At the beach of Scharendijke at the North Sea: free parking is directly at the water.

Other expectations
The location of the holiday apartment was great. Shops, bicycle rental and restaurants were also nearby.
What wasn't so nice was the permanent musty smell in the entire apartment.
It was good that it was summer, we could leave the terrace door open all the time when we were there.
The one bedroom in the front was very small. No wardrobe in the room. The spiral staircase upstairs was very narrow and worrying with a suitcase. We still had a nice week.

Already better things for the same money
We had expected more from the house itself based on the pictures and description!
Pro:
The location is great! Just cross the street and you are at the Grevelingen Lake. After a walkable kilometer, you are right at the North Sea beach.
The house was clean upon arrival, and the company Roosen was also present in the residential complex on our departure day.
The complex is older, with gardens beautifully overgrown accordingly.
Against:
The furnishings + equipment. The upper floor is accessible via an extremely narrow space-saving staircase. Upstairs, there is also a crib. I briefly thought about how I would manage to climb this staircase with a toddler and was glad that our girls are already too big for it. Upstairs, there are 2 90x200cm beds + the crib. On the ground floor, there are 2 more rooms, each with a 160x200cm bed, with one room being no larger than 270x220cm, not enough space for a wardrobe, but you can't fall out of bed either. Unfortunately, there are no bed bases, only simple wooden planks; thankfully, I had enough Novalgin and IBU with me. In a holiday home for 6 people with a dishwasher, it's annoying to have only 4 deep plates and 6 knives; we had to wash dishes by hand daily. There were no scissors or pot holders available at all. I couldn't get the washing machine started until my husband tinkered with a mini folding switch on the outlet, then it started working. The grill mentioned is smaller than a chair, wobbly, and dirty in a corner of the terrace. I would prefer not to mention it rather than offering something like that. We were in the same complex a few years ago in a larger house, but we thought this one would be sufficient. Unfortunately, I was taught better.

Great accommodation!!!
Facilities, cleanliness, and service were excellent. The location was good too (we had to rent bicycles to reach the right beach area and the nearest riding stable with our 4 children). Restaurants and bars are within walking distance, as well as the small harbor where children can catch crabs!
However, we arrived by train and bus - not recommended, as it is too rural.
Still, a wonderful holiday - the house and garden were great!
