The holiday home is located in the beautiful little village of Barendorf, directly on the nature reserve.
Barendorf is an idyllic holiday resort that is constantly gaining in attractiveness, especially for dog lovers, due to its proximity to Travemünde, Boltenhagen, Lübeck, Wismar and Schwerin on account of its unique location in nature and its wide sandy beach.
Here you will find peace, nature, beach and sea to touch.
In just a few minutes' walk you can reach our natural wide sandy beach, which stretches widely along the coast. Since the beach is never overcrowded here, you can find your own personal spot in small sheltered bays
The annual spectacle of migratory birds in spring and autumn can be observed particularly well from our house.
Barendorf is nevertheless centrally located, i.e. Travemünde 8 km, Lübeck approx. 25 km, Boltenhagen 20 km, Wismar 35 km, Hamburg and Rostock are approx. 100 km away.
The next shopping possibility is approx. 6 km away in Dassow. In the immediate vicinity in Harkensee there is a small privately run cafe, where you can find homemade

Spring vacation at its finest
Dear landlords, we had a wonderful week in the holiday home Klabautermann, nothing was missing, very generously and tastefully decorated. Large bathrooms, great living space with open kitchen, direct door to the garden. Perfect with dogs. Nice walking opportunities in the area. The location is good, although there is nothing in the immediate vicinity, everything is easily accessible. We visited Lübeck, Wismar, Island of Poel, Schwerin, Kühlungsborn, Travemünde, Priwall. On the last evening, we ate at Ahoi by Steffen Henssler and were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset right by the sea, almost like at the Mediterranean, a mild summer evening in early May. The endless rapeseed fields are a dream. Conclusion: We would book this house again anytime! Best regards, Willi and Petra with Racker and Jule.

Holiday home Klabautermann - anytime again.
Dear landlord, we had a great stay with four people and a dog in your very well-equipped, clean and cozy holiday home, which corresponded to the description in every way. The only downside: a large pot for spaghetti would be desirable, but that's just complaining at a high level. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are big, the garden is large and well-kept. The contact with the landlady was uncomplicated (a broken light bulb was delivered after 2 days) and very nice.
The house is located in a quiet, well-kept holiday home area. Extensive walks to the beach about 1 km away, in the morning and evening accompanied by the flight of the cranes over our heads, trips to Travemünde, Lübeck, Boltenhagen, Wismar and Schwerin and even beach days and swimming in the Baltic Sea in perfect weather have definitely brought us closer to this region. We would love to come back. Thank you very much ☺️.

Most beautiful holiday home in recent years
Quite spontaneously, my mother, my dogs and I were able to rent this holiday home.
Until now, I often had certain expectations of the holiday home I had booked from the pictures on the internet, which unfortunately did not quite correspond to reality.
Here, for the first time, it was the other way round. Everything we found was lovely, well thought-out, practical and we felt right at home.
The garden is exceptionally large, the fence is sturdy and of high quality, the garage right next to the house is perfect.
My mother's first impression on entering the house was the same as mine: "But this is beautiful here".
Downstairs is a hallway with a bedroom, a great bathroom with a big shower and a very large, bright and cosy living-dining area leading off. The kitchen is really well equipped and we had everything there that we could imagine.
Sofa and armchairs are comfortable, the view through the large windows is great. Pleated blinds on all the windows allow you to customise the privacy and sunlight.
On the first floor there are two more large bedrooms with TV and a large bathroom with bathtub.
What more could you want? We felt very comfortable in the house and would definitely come back again.
P.S.: When we arrived, there was a small problem with the new key safe, which was solved within a few minutes by Mrs. Winter without any problems.

The exterior promises what the interior unfortunately did not deliver.
The property is well-maintained.
It is assumed that the landlords have not been able to check the condition of the house's equipment for a long time. Unfortunately, I did not find the "very well-equipped kitchen." Tea drinkers were forgotten, as there is no teapot or warmer. Only one wooden spoon was present, which is a spatula/turner, not another spoon, potato masher or large kitchen knife. Of the two frying pans, only one was usable in my opinion, as the Teflon layer was coming off the entire bottom of the other pan. One cooking pot was missing the handle on the lid. Only one oven mitt was available. The glasses seemed to me to be mismatched.
So, if you CAN cook and want to do so on vacation, you should definitely bring your own utensils.
We had major issues with the pillows, the filling in all pillows was clumped and hard. The mattresses were unfortunately very uncomfortable for us. The 3rd chair from picture 6/29 is missing and the bed from picture 14/29 creaks with every movement.
Regarding the "sparkling clean accommodation," I can say that dead flies were on the pleated blind and the windowsill in the living room, and in the ground floor bathroom, long dust threads were hanging from the window.
The seating furniture in the living room facing the TV is worn out and this cannot be explained by the simplicity of the furniture. The chair that is positioned differently is perfectly comfortable.
If you like cranes, this is the right place for you, as they fly almost directly over the property.
Unfortunately, only one point for service, as the available bicycles could not be used. That's a pity.

Ich hoffe das sich zukünftige Gäste an den vorherigen Bewertungen orientieren werden, da Ihre Bewertung lediglich aus Frust erfolgte, da Ihr Partner die Reise 2 Tage vor Reiseantritt abgesagt hat. Nachfolgend ein Ausschnitt seiner Mail an mich:
"Frau R. ist ziemlich erbost, weil ich nicht mitfahren konnte. Aber so ist das halt. Entsprechend war die Laune vor Ort.
Da ich außerdem weiß, dass man mit Ihnen reden kann, wüsste ich keinen Grund für eine schlechte Bewertung. "
Mit den Fenstern haben Sie jedoch recht, dies ist aber auf Grund der Hauptsaison geschehen, da kein Freiraum für die Fensterputzer gegeben war.
Die zur Verfügungstellung von Fahrräder wird in unserer Beschreibung nicht angegeben und gehört daher nicht zu unserem Service!!
Weiter möchte ich Ihre Bewertung nicht kommentieren, da ich diese nur als böswillig empfinde. SCHADE

Looking for the "Klabautermann"?
We did not find the Klabautermann, it was too quiet.
We experienced peace, relaxation, and satisfaction in the 2 weeks.
The holiday home is very tastefully furnished and fully equipped.
All rooms were clean; terrace and garden very well maintained.
Our dog could romp around on the nearby natural beach, and we could enjoy the sun and beach life. Mecklenburg with its avenues and endless expanses is a sight to behold; Wismar with its historically significant old town and ancient harbor: worth seeing.
All in all, a splendid and unforgettable vacation time. The "Klabautermann" is highly recommended to the stressed vacationer, as they will return balanced to everyday life.
We will definitely come back.

Hello, we personally are absolute Barendorf fans; in 2006, we ended up there by chance with our dog during our holidays and immediately felt at home. in 2008 we had the opportunity to buy a building plot in Barendorf and so we decided to build the Klabautermann there we decided to build the Klabautermann there and by another coincidence we were we were able to purchase the house Strandkoppel 10 (today Pier 10) in 2015. We are very happy that we can offer pleasant accommodation to numerous holiday guests, in the meantime also various regular guests, a pleasant place to stay.

Das Haus liegt in einem ruhigen, gepflegten Ferienhausgebiet. Ausgedehnte Spaziergänge zum etwa 1 km entfernten Strand, morgens und abends verbunden mit dem Flug der Kraniche über unsere Köpfe hinweg, Ausflüge nach Travemünde, Lübeck, Boltenhagen, Wismar und Schwerin und sogar noch Strandtage und Baden in der Ostsee bei Kaiserwetter haben uns diese Region definitiv näher gebracht. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Herzlichen Dank ☺️.
Bisher war es oft so, dass ich von den Bildern im Internet eine gewisse Erwartungshaltung dem gebuchten Ferienhaus gegenüber hatte, die dann leider nicht ganz der Realität entsprach.
Hier war es das erste Mal andersherum. Alles, was wir vorfanden war liebevoll, durchdacht, praktisch und wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt.
Der Garten ist außergewöhnlich groß, der Zaun ist stabil und hochwertig, die Garage direkt am Haus ist perfekt.
Der erste Eindruck beim Betreten des Hauses war bei meiner Mutter genauso wie bei mir: „Das ist aber schön hier“.
Unten ist ein Flur, von dem ein Schlafzimmer, ein tolles Badezimmer mit großer Dusche und ein sehr großer, heller und gemütlicher Wohn-Essbereich abgehen. Die Küche ist wirklich gut ausgestattet und wir hatten alles dort, was wir uns so vorstellen konnten.
Sofa und Sessel sind bequem, der Ausblick durch die großen Fensterfronten ist super. Durch Plissees an allen Fenstern lässt sich Sichtschutz und Sonneneinstrahlung individuell gestalten.
Im 1. OG sind noch 2 weitere große Schlafzimmer mit TV und ein großes Bad mit Wanne.
Was will man mehr? Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt im Haus und würden bestimmt gerne nochmal wiederkommen.
P.S.: Bei unserer Ankunft gab es ein kleines Problemchen mit dem neuen Schlüsseltresor, dass innerhalb von wenigen Minuten durch Frau Winter ganz problemlos gelöst wurde.
Es ist zu vermuten, dass die Vermieter den Zustand der Ausstattung des Hauses längere Zeit nicht prüfen konnten.
Die "sehr gut ausgestattete Küche" habe ich leider nicht vorgefunden.
Teetrinker wurden vergessen, so sind keine Teekanne und kein Stövchen vorhanden.
Nur ein Holzkochlöffel war vorhanden und das ist ein Spatel/Wender, kein anderer Kochlöffel, kein Kartoffelstampfer, kein großes Küchenmesser. Von den beiden Pfannen war nach meinem Geschmack nur eine verwendbar, da sich bei der anderen Pfanne über den gesamten Boden die Teflonschicht löst. Bei einem Kochtopf fehlte am Deckel der Halteknopf. Nur ein Topflappen war zu finden. Die Gläser machten auf mich einen "zusammengesuchten" Eindruck.
Wer also kochen KANN und im Urlaub möchte, sollte seine eigenen Utensilien unbedingt mitbringen.
Große Probleme bereiteten uns die Kopfkissen, die Füllung bei allen Kissen war hartklumpig.
Die Matratzen waren für uns leider sehr unbequem.
Der 3. Sessel von Bild 6/29 fehlt und das Bett von Bild 14/29 knarrt leider bei jeder Bewegung.
Bezüglich der "blitzsauberen Unterkunft" kann ich sagen, dass tote Fliegen auf dem Plissee und dem Fensterbrett im Wohnzimmer lagen und im Bad im EG lange Staubfäden am Fenster hingen.
Die Sitzmöbel im Wohnzimmer in Blickrichtung Fernseher sind durchgesessen und das kann nicht mit der Einfachheit der Möbel erklärt werden. Der Sessel, der anders ausgerichtet steht, sitzt sich völlig in Ordnung.
Wer Kraniche mag, ist hier richtig aufgehoben, denn diese fliegen fast direkt über das Grundstück.
Für Service leider nur einen Punkt, da vorhanden Fahrräder nicht genutzt werden durften. Das ist schade.
Ruhe, Erholung und Zufriedenheit haben wir in den 2 Wochen erlebt.
Das Ferienhaus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und komplett ausgestattet.
Sämtliche Räume waren sauber; Terrasse und Garten sehr gut gepflegt.
Am nahegelegene Naturstrand konnte sich unser Hund austoben und wir die Sonne und das Strandleben genießen.
Mecklenburg mit seinen Alleen und den unendlichen Weiten ist eine Sehenswürdigkeit; Wismar mit der geschichtsträchtigen Altstadt und dem alten Hafen: sehenswert.
Alles in allem eine herrliche und unvergessliche Urlaubszeit.
Der „Klabautermann „ ist dem gestressten Urlauber nur zu empfehlen, denn er kommt ausgeglichen zurück in den Alltag.
Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.
ruhig, am Tag generell. Wer also nach diesen unruhigen Zeiten zur Ruhe kommen will, ist hier richtig aufgehoben! Das Grundstück ist eingezäunt(gut für Hunde etc.), die Oktobersonne flutete die Räume(!), man ist in 10 min am Strand, in 10 Autominuten in Travemünde und auch Lübeck(20) und Schwerin in 50km Entfernung tragen dazu bei, von diesem sehr schönen Domizil Tagestouren zu planen. Da ringsherum Natur pur anzutreffen war, kann man ausgedehnte Spaziergänge unternehmen. Hier bietet sich z.B. der 6 km Gang nach Travemünde am Strand entlang an! Wir haben das Haus auf dem Radar und kommen wieder! Egal ob mit oder ohne Haustier, mit oder ohne Kinder, es passt in jeder Hinsicht!
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt in Ihrem Haus uns hat es an nix gefehlt.
Allerdings ist der Garten nicht ganz ausbruchsicher da unser chihuahua immer einen Weg raus gefunden hat
Die Matratzen waren ein Traum.
Noch nirgendwo so himmlich geschlafen.
Wir waren mit 3 Generationen in diesem schönen Haus.
Unsere Hunde haben sich auch austoben dürfen auf dem Grundstück.
Modernes, freistehendes Niedrigenergiehaus mit vollständig eingezäuntem Garten und einem Carport, das selbst bei schlechtem Wetter die An- und Abreise, sowie das Entladen der Einkäufe, trocken bewältigen lässt.
Uns stand leider nur das Erdgeschoß zur Verfügung, sodass wir keinen Zugang zur oberen Etage hatten, wo sich mutmaßlich das ausgeschriebene Wannenbad und das Schlafzimmer mit Fernseher befand.
Die Küche war (für ein Ferienhaus) hervorragend ausgestattet, allerdings funktionierte die Dunstabzugshaube, inklusive Beleuchtung nur bei geöffnetem Küchenfenster, was der Bauweise der Lüftungsanlage geschuldet ist.
Küche, Essbereich und Wohnzimmer befinden sich in einem verbundenen Raum, sodass es keine Rückzugsmöglichkeiten gab, außer dem Duschbad und dem Schlafzimmer.
Da die Sitz- und Liegemöbel (für uns!) ungeeignet waren, haben wir viel mehr Ausflüge unternommen als ursprünglich geplant, wodurch wir zwar viel gesehen haben, aber der Erholungswert entsprechend geringer ausfiel.
Wir sind mit großem Hund gereist, der mit uns in 15 Minuten zu Fuß am Strand war. Der ausgedehnteste Spaziergang führte uns am Strand entlang bis zur Personenfähre nach Priwall, wo wir nach Travemünde übersetzten, um dort zu bummeln und Kaffee zu trinken. Zurück ging es später mit der Autofähre und entlang dem Wanderweg.

- Besuch des Schmetterlingsparks in Klütz

Da es im Umkreis von 12km keinerlei Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt (NORMA in Dassow) wird durch die Vermieter ein Brötchenservice vermittelt.
Die Kommunikation mit Frau Winter war jederzeit von Wertschätzung geprägt und die Abwicklung war unkompliziert, selbst als wir vorzeitig anreisten.
Sehr gutes preis / leistungs verhältnis .
Vom idyllisch gelegenen Barendorf aus erreicht man mit dem Auto in einem Radius von bis zu 90 min bemerkenswert viele beliebte Ausflugsziele sowohl in Schleswig-Holstein als auch in MV.
Zuletzt ist noch hervorzuheben, dass die komplette Abwicklung, Übergabe und Kommunikation mit den Vermietern einwandfrei und völlig unkompliziert ablief. So wünscht man sich das. Sofern die Preise stabil bleiben, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder.
