A beautiful vacation – absolute heartfelt recommendation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a wonderful and thoroughly relaxing time in this dreamy chalet with Susanne and Dirk Protzmann. From the moment we arrived, we felt immediately comfortable and welcomed.

The chalet is simply beautiful, cozy, and furnished with incredible attention to detail. It is very well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and truly well-equipped. We lacked for nothing. You can immediately tell how much passion is invested in this special place. The communication with Susanne and Dirk was warm, uncomplicated, and absolutely smooth from start to finish. Both are incredibly likeable and ensured that we always felt well taken care of.

The tranquility, the cozy atmosphere, and the beautiful surroundings were exactly what we needed to unwind and relax. The weather also played along perfectly. Our vacation couldn't have been better. From us, there are clearly 5 stars and an absolute top recommendation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Many thanks to Susanne and Dirk for this beautiful break. We felt completely comfortable, were able to relax wonderfully, and would love to come back! ❤️

A vacation home for feeling good

The holiday home completely thrilled us! The furnishings were flawless and exceeded our expectations. All kitchen utensils are available - even an air fryer, electric grill, and baking utensils are there. We have never had that in any holiday accommodation before. Our son enthusiastically claimed the reading chair in the bedroom. The air conditioning on the upper floor also served us very well. The garden is beautiful, and you can enjoy the peace there. Perfect location for cycling and hiking tours. The hosts always communicated quickly and very friendly. We will come back when we vacation in this region again.

Very beautiful holiday home

Hello Alfred and Nicole,
We were in your beautiful holiday home for five days. It was exactly as shown in the pictures.
Clean and cozy furnished, so one felt immediately comfortable. A very nice large garden area where one could enjoy the peace and nature. Also, the central location of the holiday home was optimal for us. We would recommend the house anytime.
Best regards

Which sights are there in Limburg?

Of Caves, Hills, and White Houses

Maastricht will enchant you! The region exudes joie de vivre and cosmopolitan flair, but it also has an interesting history. In the old town, you can discover numerous historical witnesses. During your exploration, do not forget to visit the two basilicas "Our Dear Lady" and "St. Servatius." Additionally, visiting the Sint Pieter caves is not only exciting but also very informative: the approximately 80 km long tunnel system results from years of mining. Back on the surface, you can take a boat trip on the Maas to see the city from a different perspective. Venlo, the urban center of Noord-Limburg, is not far from your affordable apartment or house. Its direct and idyllic location on the Maas invites you to stroll along the river. A little shopping spree or a museum visit completes the day trip. Children's hearts will beat faster at the indoor playground in the Leurs garden center. A very special attraction awaits you in Midden-Limburg: the white village of Thorn. In the former mini-principality, led by an abbess, you will find whitewashed houses, an abbey church, and a community museum revealing the history behind the white-painted buildings. The Zuid-Limburg region is unusually hilly for the Netherlands. Cycling and hiking are popular activities here. As typical for the Netherlands, bicycles can be rented everywhere - perfect for active vacationers. Another attraction is Valkenburg aan de Geul. The town has a historic old town, a castle ruin, several small castles, and an underground labyrinth of tunnels. Additionally, Thermae 2000 offers healing water baths, saunas, wellness, and massages. It is the perfect place for a relaxing break before heading back home to an apartment with parking or a garage.

What do you need to experience in Limburg?

Must-Do's During Your Vacation in Limburg

During your stay in an apartment or a half-timbered house in the southernmost province of the Netherlands, a trip to Maastricht is a must. The city is said to have a Parisian flair. Here you can shop, explore the historical heritage of the city, visit original museums, and enjoy a coffee in the sun at the city's most famous square, the Vrijthof. Another highlight will be a day of relaxation in the sauna at the spa in Valkenburg. Afterwards, you will feel rejuvenated! Be sure to also visit the south of the province, as it is nowhere else in the Netherlands as hilly. On the sunny slopes, even grapevines grow, and their own quality wines are produced. A final tip for all shopping enthusiasts visiting Limburg: In Roermond, there is a designer outlet with around 200 stores where prices drop. It is open on weekends and most holidays.

What can you experience in Limburg with children?

Children and Pets are Welcome!

A stay in the Netherlands is an unforgettable experience for both young and old. The location of the privately rented apartments could not be better: beautiful nature is right outside the door. Family-friendly excursion destinations are in the immediate vicinity. And last but not least, you can rent houses, both bungalows and apartments, at affordable prices. Some of the accommodations are located in the middle of a holiday park, so many facilities such as playground, restaurant, or swimming pool are within walking distance. Often, even at the last minute, numerous offers with unbeatable value for money are available. Children will love the vacation in Limburg! Is your dog also part of the trip? No problem! Pets are allowed in many apartments. The surroundings invite you to go on extensive hikes and walks. Your four-legged friend will be pleased to get plenty of exercise. And when the faithful companion curls up tired from the fresh air in the cozy apartment in the evening, the owners can already research the next excursion: almost all accommodations offer free Wi-Fi. If the vacation rental also has a garden, the vacation with a dog will also be a successful stay for the pet.

Where can I eat out in Limburg?

"White Gold" is on Everyone's Lips

Whether you prefer to cook in your accommodation or dine out, the Limburg region is naturally well catered for. Supermarkets are located near the apartments and houses. A well-equipped kitchen is also part of the inventory of the bungalows and apartments. If your trip falls in May and June, you should try the so-called "white gold." We're talking about asparagus! Limburg is the most important asparagus region in Holland. During the season, you can order the vegetable everywhere in the Netherlands and, of course, prepare a delicious meal with it in your apartment. There are versatile recipes. "Limburgse Vlaai," a fruit pie with pudding filling, can be served as dessert. In the evening, adults can unwind in the garden of their vacation rental with one of the many Limburg beer varieties. The variety of offerings is reminiscent of Belgian beer culture.

What is a must-see in Limburg?

When Museum Visits Become an Experience

Maastricht is the cultural heart of Limburg. However, interesting museums, exhibitions, and events will also be encountered in other cities and rural communities. They focus on painting, architecture, science, folklore, and music. The highlight in terms of ancient and contemporary art is the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht. The premises alone are an experience! If children are along for the ride, head to Venlo to the interactive family museum and embark on a journey through the history of Limburg. At the Discovery Center Continium Kerkrade, touching and participating are also explicitly encouraged. Things get curious at the ethnological Missions Museum Steyl: a collection of peculiar items from many countries and cultures has been assembled here. After visiting an exhibition, you will definitely return in the evening with many new impressions to the comfortably furnished apartment or the holiday accommodation overlooking the idyllic river. With the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, one of the oldest music festivals in Europe has its home in Limburg. It has been held since 1970 and welcomes around 60,000 open-air fans annually. The Diocese of Roermond is one of the seven Roman Catholic dioceses of the Dutch ecclesiastical province and is based in Roermond. Those interested in religion will find several churches that are well worth visiting. Wonderful art museums and exhibitions await you in South Limburg, and you can enjoy the cultural pleasure of centuries-old architecture during a visit to the castles scattered throughout the region.

How do I come to Limburg?

By Car to the Netherlands

Limburg is a province in the Netherlands, located in the southern part of the country, bordering Germany and Belgium. Its capital is Maastricht, which, with around 120,000 inhabitants, is the largest town in Limburg. Popular regions for a vacation in a beautiful apartment or a comfortable residence at a fair price are available in South, Central, and North Limburg. Some private apartments are located in the middle of holiday parks. Those preferring a central location should look for accommodation in Maastricht, Valkenburg, Venlo, Weert, or Roermond. The best way to reach the southernmost province of the Netherlands is by car. The road network in Holland is very well developed, and having your own car is advantageous for trips in the area. Maastricht Aachen Airport connects Limburg with many cities in Europe, although it is less relevant for arrivals from Germany. Those searching for the city of Limburg in the Dutch province will not find it; the place of the same name is actually located in Hesse on the Lahn, not in Holland! Book a holiday accommodation to your liking, whether with a garden, Wi-Fi, or in a central location.
