The Baltic Sea coast, with its many bays and islands, is Germany's most popular holiday destination. An apartment or an affordable holiday home in Glücksburg or Flensburg is the perfect starting point to enjoy both nature and culture. A boat trip across the border to Denmark is fun not just because of the hot dogs. Flensburg, Germany's most Danish city, is shaped by the rum trade, seafaring, and a Danish heritage. In the old town and at the harbor, shops, maritime life, and history await you. The city was part of Danish territory for many centuries; although the current border has been in place since 1920, the proximity to the neighboring country is felt everywhere.
