The historic Alte Zollhaus Neukirchen (built 1938) was thoroughly renovated in 2017 - 2018 and divided into two cosy and exclusive holiday flats that can be used individually or together
The maisonette flat "Schmugglerkoje" with a floor space of over 100 sqm on the upper floor and attic will delight you with its bright and exclusive furnishings as soon as you enter. The open kitchen with a large dining table is connected to the living area. In the passage between the living room and the kitchen, a wood-burning stove provides cosy hours in both rooms. A large and comfortable sofa bed awaits you in the living room. From the floor-to-ceiling windows you can enjoy the fantastic view over the Flensburg Fjord to Denmark at any time of day. In our cosy "Kajüte" (cabin) there is a bedroom comfortably under the roof with a fantastic panoramic view of the starry sky and the fjord. In the attic there is another spacious bedroom, equipped with large panoramic windows and a bathroom en suite - a little kingdom of its own. We have equipped the double bed with electrically adjustable slatted frames for your comfort. All beds in the smuggler's bunk measure 160 x 200.
The garden with terrace belonging to the holiday flat faces the forest and offers a great view as well as barbecue facilities. Garden furniture and cushions as well as sun loungers and a parasol are available.

Location and surroundings of object
The two holiday homes of the Alter Zollhaus Neukirchen are located directly on the Flensburg Fjord, in the immediate vicinity of the natural beach with a fantastic view of the "Danish South Sea". Kappeln, Maasholm, Flensburg and Schleswig are not far away and offer many attractions. Town and harbour festivals are often held there. Germany's smallest town (Arnis on the Schlei) is also not far away and well worth a trip. Denmark with its hilly small towns is on the other side of the fjord and can be reached quickly with a nearby excursion ferry. There are many beautiful cycle paths near the Alter Zollhaus, the house is directly on the Baltic Sea cycle path.

A small feel-good oasis on the Baltic Sea
We spent the first weekend in May with two friends in the Smuggler's Cove – in radiant sunshine and the best Baltic Sea atmosphere. Even before our arrival, we received all the important information promptly and in detail, so we could arrive completely relaxed. The first impression was something special: the fantastic view of the Baltic Sea and the extraordinarily cozy, yet high-quality furnishings immediately thrilled us. The lovingly prepared bouquet of flowers perfectly rounded off the warm welcome.
The apartment is extremely clean, well-maintained, and tastefully furnished. We particularly liked the large windows that let in plenty of light and sunshine, enhancing the wonderful view of the surroundings even more. Some windows are additionally equipped with insect protection blinds – another sign of how thoughtfully and comfortably everything has been designed. The kitchen also left nothing to be desired; nothing was missing. The quiet atmosphere of the apartment was particularly pleasant. After a short time, one had the feeling of completely leaving behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The apartment also contains numerous books about the region and the beautiful landscape, so one can wonderfully inspire and inform oneself on-site. The natural Baltic Sea beach is just a few minutes' walk away and invites long walks and relaxing hours by the sea. One can feel in every detail the special effort of the landlords to make the stay pleasant and unforgettable for their guests from the very beginning. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back.

Wellness oasis in a beautiful location
Arrive and feel at home immediately. This apartment lacks nothing, very tastefully and high-quality furnished. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and recovered wonderfully. You can also tell how much thought the landlords put into the furnishings - finally enough hooks for towels and options to dry them as a small example. Additionally, it is very quiet and, thanks to the large windows with a view of the fjord, very bright. The kitchen is also very well equipped. Everything is really spotless, absolutely suitable for allergy sufferers like us. A well-filled information folder for excursion planning or going-out tips is also available. The location is exceptionally beautiful. The natural beach behind the church is quickly reached, but the surroundings also offer beautiful excursion destinations (our highlights: Arnis on the Schlei and Holnis). And in the evening, enjoying the sunset in the apartment, every time a spectacle. We would love to come back :-)

Beautiful holiday apartment at the Flensburg Fjord
We were allowed to spend our family vacation with a dog in the holiday apartment "Schmugglerkoje" in the old customs house. The holiday apartment is beautifully furnished and very clean. We felt comfortable from the very first moment.
The small house beach can be reached in a few minutes via a footpath.
The contact with our hosts was always very friendly and pleasant.
Would love to come again.

Place of longing by the glittering fjord
We had a wonderful stay in this dreamy holiday home, which made us feel at home right away. The house is not only spotless but also lovingly and cozily furnished - you can tell how much heart is put into it.
The amenities leave nothing to be desired - from small touches in the kitchen to a huge selection of games for game nights to cozy blankets for comfortable evenings with a view of the fjord. The location is phenomenal: quiet, relaxing, and yet close enough for excursions in the surrounding area. Not 5 minutes to a beautiful unspoiled beach that offers relaxing moments: a panorama for sunrise and sunset!
We especially want to highlight the hosts, who sweetened the vacation with respect, attentiveness, and helpfulness. You can tell that the well-being of their guests is truly important to them. We felt completely comfortable and will remember this stay fondly for a long time. The children are already asking when we will go back ;)
A clear recommendation - we will gladly return to this place of longing!

Winter test passed :-)
After our first stay in the Smuggler's Cove in spring 2023, we were now there in December/January. We would like to add to our first review (see below) that it is very, very beautiful there even with perhaps not quite optimal holiday weather.
