Super great vacation apartment

We had a nice short vacation over New Year’s. Although there was a bit of snow missing in Brilon, Winterberg with its ski and toboggan runs was not far away. The holiday apartment was simply great. We travel often and have stayed in various holiday apartments before. But something so lovingly furnished is definitely rare. One had the feeling that the landlords had decorated and furnished the apartment for themselves. Everyone felt very comfortable right away. Very clean, many beautiful decorative details, games and puzzles for the children, and even a nice little Christmas tree. The kitchen equipment left nothing to be desired. Everything was available, from the potato peeler to the sieve. The beds were very comfortable, we all slept great. The landlords, who live next door, were very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much.

can be so beautiful! A fantastic holiday home, a stunning view (which is not marred by the calamity areas on the opposite slope), very nice and friendly landlords - what more could you want? In the immediate surroundings, there are excellent restaurants for every budget, many hiking trails and viewpoints, and everything you need for daily necessities. Whoever just wants to "get out" and still doesn't want to do without a reasonable lifestyle is in good hands here. The fireplace and the sauna particularly convinced us. We will definitely be happy to come back! Thank you and all the best for you!

Beyond the borders of Sauerland, "Siegerländer Krüstchen" is well-known, consisting of a "bread edge" topped with a schnitzel and fried egg. Do you know what "Potthucke" is? It's a potato casserole made from raw and cooked, coarsely grated potatoes mixed with cream/sour cream, bacon, or sausage cubes. This dish, which sticks to the bottom of the pot and hence called "Das-Was-Im-Pott-Hockt," is served with pumpernickel and beet syrup. Easier to understand are "Ajjjerkaes" or "Sejerlänner Riewekooche," if you pronounce the words out loud (Siegerland egg cheese and Siegerland potato pancakes). "Eierkäs" is a dessert, and the regional potato pancakes are often eaten as bread. The mixture of grated potatoes is baked in the oven. "Möpkebrot" might also confuse you, as it is a cooked sausage specialty that includes grains and is refined with apples or raisins. During your gourmet vacation in Sauerland, you must try the Sauerland beer "Märzen," which is still brewed traditionally and therefore takes much longer to reach your table.
