What do you need to experience in Ariany?

Festivals, churches, and windmills

Ariany is a small and quiet municipality. You will not experience the mass tourism of Mallorca here. The village is characterized by large country houses, rustic mansions, and fincas. The holiday apartments and holiday homes you can rent are also visually very appealing. One sight worth seeing is the church Nuestra Señora d'Attocha from 1570. Between 1908 and 1913, the church received a new and thus its current appearance with the construction of a new dome and bell tower. It was dedicated to the White Madonna. In the municipality, you will also find numerous interesting wayside crosses. These include the classicist Sa Creu made of sandstone (from 1856), the Creu de Voltes de Son Bonany (1969), or the Creu de la Plaça de l'Església (1979). Among the highlights are the seven windmills of Ariany, which adorn the Mediterranean landscape and surroundings. A cultural highlight is the village festival on January 17th, when spectacular bonfires, traditional music, and culinary delights are on the program. The festival is dedicated to Saint Anthony, the patron saint of animals. On the last Sunday in July, the community window is celebrated. The last Sunday in August is dedicated to the patron saint of the village. Then a festival in honor of the Mare de Déu d'Atocha is celebrated. A visit to the town of Sineu, which is only eleven kilometers away, is worthwhile. The famous weekly market is the largest on Mallorca. It is also worth visiting the Bonany Monastery, which blends impressively into the picturesque surroundings.

Days at the beach

Families rave about a beach holiday in Ariany. The nearest bathing beach is located at Can Picafort and can be reached in just 15 minutes by car. Here you can swim, splash, dive, or sunbathe from April to the end of October. Your whole family will enjoy their time at the beach and spend fantastic days. Ariany and the surrounding area also offer beautiful natural landscapes that invite you to take walks, hikes, or bike rides.
