Description
Ideal for holiday guests with high demands! The holiday home is located in the hills above Pescia with a wonderful view of the villages and the nature of the area, for 4 people, with a private pool (6.5 x 11m) and a large plot, there is a table tennis table and a (warm) outdoor shower . The cottage is secluded at the end of a dirt road and only the owners live next door. You can buy warm eggs, honey, olive oil, soap and cream made from olive oil and beeswax and other products made there. It is of course possible to visit the bees and honey production.
Inside, practical furnishings invite you to relax and stay. The kitchen inside is fully equipped, a large table offers enough space. All windows have mosquito screens. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The terrace is ideal whether you want to sit in the shade during the day or eat outside in the evening. Of course there are loungers, seating, a dining table and a barbecue. In the garden is a very nice pool that belongs exclusively to the house.
The approach road is not paved and partly on a slope

additional information:
Here is a blog article I wrote about the 10 Castella (the 10 villages in the hills above Pescia):
I'm subscribed to the mailing lists of various local organizations so I always know where and when there are festivals, exhibitions, markets and so on.
Yesterday I received an email that made me and my daughter laugh a lot.
It was a fairly short (3 hours) and easy hike that takes place this weekend here in the Svizzera Pesciatina.
There were precise instructions: hiking boots, hiking sticks (for those who normally use them), 1 liter of water, snack (on request)
we missed the instruction to dress like an 'onion', with this summer's weather there is also no mention of a rain jacket!
So always remember if I write you something about a trail and I don't tell you what to wear and what to take with you, you can look it up here.
But I'm probably just being mean and the person who wrote the email had to send a horde of Italians (inside) home with high heels and no water on other hikes.
The Svizzera Pesciatina got its name at the end of the 18th century from Jean Charles Sismondi, who was reminded of the 'Valleriana' valley of his home country Switzerland.
Due to the many watercourses, the area was ideal for paper production. This is where the paper for the banknotes was made. Few remain today. The big factories are now near the highway in Capannori (Lucca)
In Pietrabuona, however, a paper museum reminds of the production in these hills.
But there are also other museums: in San Quirico there is a museum about the life of the peasants and in Vellano the 'museo storico etnografico del minatore e cavatore'. There is another quarry in Vellano, the last one in the province of Pistoia.
For the hikers among you, there are various hiking trails: a large circular route (albeit partly on the road) to visit all 10 villages (10 Castella) for which you need about 6 hours.
Or you can walk from Ponte a Sorana to San Quirico, from Medicina to Fibbialla or a very romantic path with natural bathtubs in the river to the mill at Stiappa (when you pass Stiappa there is a bus stop on the right after a house. Between the house and the Bus stop goes a path in the forest.
The 10 villages are: San Quirico, Aramo, Sorana, Castelvecchio, Vellano, Medicina, Fiabbialla, Stiappa, Pontito and Pietrabuona.
There used to be 11 villages, above Aramo are the ruins of Lignana. It was completely destroyed in the battle between Florence and Pisa in 1364 and was never rebuilt.
There is hardly any tourism here, but some nice restaurants.

We were warmly welcomed by Gabrielle, Pino and Francesco. The house is beautifully situated with a stunning view. Hospitality like this is rarely experienced! Because of the great facilities, we were hardly drawn to go on excursions - most of the time, we spent outside of the house. Very well suited for complete relaxation and unwinding.
recommend for: adventure and experience, holiday with children, romantic holiday

Great accommodation with very warm hosts
We were in Italy for the first time ever.
On the very first evening we were welcomed by Gabriella, Pino and Francesco with an Italian 3-course meal. A super welcome and presentation of the country-specific specialities.
The house offers everything you could wish for.
Archery with Francesco was also a highlight.
From this house, many towns can be reached by car, so you can explore Tuscany very well.
recommend for: holiday with children, cultural and sightseeing holiday
