location and surroundings of object

The hillside location allows a wonderful view of the nature and the medieval villages of the area. You can walk directly from the house or simply enjoy the tranquility of nature. Pescia can be reached by car in less than 15 minutes. Here's a blog post I wrote about the 10 Castella (in the hills above Pescia the 10 villages), I am with various local organization registered in the mailing list so that I always know where and when festivals, exhibitions, markets and so on , Yesterday a mail has arrived on my daughter and I had a good laugh. It was about a fairly short (3 hours) and easy walk which takes place this weekend here in Pescia. There were specific instructions: hiking boots, hiking poles (for which they normally use), 1 liter of water, snack (on request), we have the instruction missed as an 'onion' to dress, this summer is missing in this weather, the reference to a raincoat! So always remember when I write about a footpath and not telling you what to wear, and have brought you to look again it here. But I'm probably just mean and the one who wrote the email in other walks a horde Italians (s) has to send with high heels and without water back home. The Pescia takes its name the late 18th century by Jean Charles Sismondi get to the valley 'Valleriana' at his home in Switzerland recalled. Due to the many waterways, the area was ideal for papermaking. Here the paper was prepared for the bills. Today few are left. The big factories are now near the highway in Capannori (Lucca) but in Pietrabuona remembers a paper Museum of production in these hills. But other museums there: In San Quirico there is a museum on the life of the peasants and in the Vellano 'museo storico etnografico del minatore e cavatore'. In Vellano, there is a quarry, the last in the province of Pistoia. For the walkers amongst you there are several hiking trails: a large circular route (however partially across the street) to all 10 villages (10 Castella) to visit for it takes about 6 hours. Or you can walk from Ponte a Sorana to San Quirico, Medicina after Fibbialla or a very romantic way with natural bath in the river to the mill at Stiappa (if you will drive past Stiappa right to a house a bus stop. Between the house and the bus Telle is a path in the woods the 10 villages are:.. San Quirico, Aramo, Sorana, Castelvecchio, Vellano, Medicina, Fiabbialla, Stiappa, Pontito and Pietrabuona Earlier there were times 11 villages, above Aramo are the ruins of Lignana. it was in 1364 completely destroyed in the struggle between Florence and Pisa and never rebuilt tourism, there is little, but some nice restaurants.:
