The holiday flat is attached to a house that is over one hundred years old and is located in the centre of the village, not far from the harbour. Here, the holiday traffic passes by and ensures a quiet atmosphere away from large crowded hotel complexes. Immediately around the corner is a shopping market, a cash machine and various restaurants. Medical care is also available and there is a pharmacy in the neighbouring village of Altenkirchen. Wiek is an old fishing village that was first mentioned in 1165. The village is characterised by fishermen's houses, some of which are over one hundred and fifty years old. Wiek is situated directly on the Bodden on one side and about 5 km from the sandy beach and the open sea on the other. The harbour was built in 1860 and renovated in 2003 and offers everything that makes the atmosphere unforgettable for seafarers but also for all other guests. From Wiek it is only a stone's throw by boat or ship to Hiddensee, an island with unique nature and plenty of space for cycling and hiking. Wiek can be reached directly by car from Stralsund in the direction of Sassnitz, but also with a short crossing via the Wittow ferry. It is also possible to travel by train and bus. Not far from Wiek is Cape Arkona with its historic lighthouses and unique cliffs with a view of the open sea towards Scandinavia. Thanks to the many cycle paths, the area around Wiek is ideal for short and short tours, and those who want to can even make it to the chalk cliffs near Sassnitz. Here you can also visit an old chalk mine and learn about chalk mining on Rügen. Incidentally, chalk was once loaded and shipped via the port in Wiek. On the Bodden lies Ralswiek with the annual Störtebecker Festival. Discovering Rügen from Wiek is always an adventure. Whether it's the flint fields near Mukran or a ride on the narrow-gauge railway across the island, there's something for everyone, and if you just want to sunbathe on the beach, use the kilometre-long beach between Glowe and Juliusruh. Wiek is also a paradise for surfers and kite surfers. The Bodden offers ideal conditions for this.

After consultation and weather conditions, there is the possibility, especially with children, to organise trips with our small boat.
As we like diving ourselves, trips to the wrecks off the coast of Rügen can also be organised by arrangement. We have a compressor for filling bottles on site in Wiek.

This time, it was only a short stay for us, but we will come back. In the quiet location, you can relax nicely, and by car, you can quickly reach all the attractions.

Welcome to the beautiful island of Rügen, my wife and I have been travelling here a lot since we were children and have got to know Rügen in almost all its facets as permanent campers for more than twenty years. Then we decided to go new ways and bought the house in Wiek with the two holiday flats. Now we hope to bring our guests closer to Rügen and Hiddensee and are happy to share our experiences.
