On the terrace adjoining the house, garden furniture is available, and for real relaxation a sun lounger and/or hammock awaits you. A new grill for culinary enjoyment is also available.
This allows you to move meals outside and enjoy the day.
The private garden invites you to play, relax, hide, or sunbathe on the lawn.
Find a nice spot to relax and spend time together as a family!
Enjoy the proximity to the lake and, at the same time, the peace in your own garden!
A relaxing family vacation with grandma and grandpa, or together with friends, is possible here! Guests of "Kranichnest" and "Storchennest" can, if desired, use the garden together and open the connecting door between the terraces. This creates a shared holiday home with 2 holiday apartments.

Location and surroundings of object
The municipality of Dahmen is located on the southern shore of Lake Malchin in the middle of the Mecklenburg Lake District and the nature park "Mecklenburgische Schweiz and Kummerower See".
The characteristic brick houses on Seestraße were built around 1870 as workers' quarters for the sugar factory that was located here at the time. As so-called. "Today, these buildings are listed as "sugar factory housing estate" and line the road to the lake
The street is reserved for children as a play street and the historic buildings are a unique backdrop. Children have the right of way here. The bathing area is also very child-friendly, as it goes about 50 metres into the lake with a water depth of perhaps 50 cm. The lakeside road ends directly at the Malchiner See fisherman and leads directly past the bathing area. From the "Storchennest" it is only about 200m to the bathing area of Lake Malchin.
There is a wide variety of activities and excursion destinations for young and old in the surrounding area.
Among others, there is an animal park, castles and palaces, riding stables, artisans, thousand-year-old oaks, numerous lakes and the Müritz. Fishing, horseback riding, boating, geocaching and much more can be done here.
Flyers with all kinds of information are available in the holiday flat.
You can also order/rent bicycles from a regional bicycle rental or at the campsite in the village.
Waren, Malchow, Malchin and Teterow are only a few kilometres away. The German Alleenstraße (avenue road) leads through this place, which has its own history.

Leider nicht so sauber
We spent a week in early October at FH Storchennest and were greeted by flies in the bedroom and flypaper full of dead flies throughout the house. The reason is surely the livestock farming in the neighborhood and defective old fly screens on the windows. Unfortunately, the house and the beds are in need of a thorough cleaning. We cannot recommend the FH in this condition.

Werte Familie M., auch wenn es Ende der Saison war, darf der Reinigungsstandard nicht nachlassen, da stimme ich Ihnen zu. Es tut mir leid, wenn Sie sich so natürlich nicht wohl gefühlt haben. Checklisten werden die Reinigung in der Zukunft transparenter machen und um die Fliegengitter können wir uns jetzt auch in Ruhe kümmern. Grüße nach Taucha

Relaxed seaside vacation without hustle and bustle
We spent four wonderful weeks in this cozy holiday home. The kitchen is super equipped. A important aspect for us, because I cook fresh daily. Fresh and smoked fish directly from the fisherman at the lake, but also from the fisherman in Salem. There the offer is even bigger. Eggs and tomatoes are available from our own breeding at the beach. In the living room there are not only two practical desks, but also a well-stocked bookshelf. So it can rain too. Children will find extensive toys, dollhouse and much more. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the lake. The sunny terrace is quiet with a relaxing view of the greenery. Just a few minutes' drive away from the Müritz and there is no trace of all the hustle and bustle. Frau Kaping has decorated this domicile with a lot of attention to detail and has taken great care of our well-being. A big thank you for everything!

a great vacation with everything that goes with it!
We are a family of 4 with 2 children (8 and 10 years old) and we had a great summer vacation here! The house offers enough space with the 2 separate bedrooms upstairs and the large living room on the ground floor, the kitchen with dining table. In the entrance area there is a large hallway with storage space for shoes, bathing utensils, barbecue stuff, etc.
We often used the grill, almost always had breakfast outside on the terrace and also had dinner. We were able to make a campfire with stick bread in the fire pit on the large meadow next to the house!
The lake is very close and very idyllic with the bathing meadow. Fresh rolls were available every morning from the "Strandkorb", a great service! The campsite located on the lake offers bicycle and boat rentals, so there really is no wish left unfulfilled.
In the surrounding area there are castles and palaces to explore, nature and wildlife parks, other lakes and great hiking trails.
We enjoyed every minute and will definitely be back!

Wonderful holidays in the stork's nest
We spent a wonderful vacation week at The Stork's Nest. A house with history - stylishly furnished. The children loved the toys - they explored the children's library, lounged in the hammock in the garden.
For swimming, we went to the nearby Haussee in Bad Schorrsow - delightful! We enjoyed coffee & cake at the courtyard café at the entrance of the village. Finally, I experienced a wonderful chamber concert at Schloss Ulrichtshusen - just three kilometers away. We highly recommend the stork's nest.
