offers numerous leisure activities, such as surfing, diving, sailing, climbing in the Kletterwald
Day trips
to Güstrow to the NUP, Waren-Müritz to the Müritzeum, to the bear forest in Zislow, summer toboggan run with monkey forest in Malchow, are popular destinations for holiday guests.
Our state capital Schwerin is also worth a trip.
All destinations are easy to reach by car. The village of Barkow
in the municipality of Barkhagen is 6 km from the town of Plau am See on the B 191.
The Elde,
a river developed into a canal, connects the Elbe with the Mecklenburg inland waters and meanders directly past the property so that you can watch the boats passing by.
In the village
our country inn offers our guests culinary dishes with a wide range of food and drinks.
Our hotel -Gutshaus Barkow- also offers canoe and bicycle rental.
Our neighbour - the butcher's shop Podlech - offers a wide range of meat and sausages. You can also buy bread rolls to order there.
Our bathing lake,
the Kritzower See, is 2.5 km away and easy to reach by bicycle.
Furthermore, you can reach and enjoy the towns of Plau am See (6 km) and Lübz (10 km) on the cycle path as well as the nearby nature on other paths.

Beautiful holiday
Dear Ottemann family,
We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful holiday from 13.08.2022 to 21.08.2022. The small holiday home is lovingly furnished and we lacked nothing. They were always there to give us advice and help. Our holiday flat was a dream, the children felt completely at ease and were warmly welcomed. The huge garden offered a retreat for each of us

we enjoyed every day, whether in the wider surroundings or simply in the large garden or even just sitting by the Elde, watching ships and clouds
was pure relaxation! and especially the hosts contributed a lot to the fact that we said goodbye with a tearful eye at the end.
