Tip:
Even outside the bathing season, our house is a true place of longing: clear air, wide views, long walks by the water – and afterwards, onto the cozy sofa with the lake in sight. From November to March, your four-legged friend is also very welcome. Then our house becomes a dog paradise: paws in the water, a jump into the lake, and afterwards, your dog can also: warm up and relax in comfort!
Your dream house:
In 2000, a former barn was converted into a building complex with three independent units – similar to a row house, only much nicer! Each unit has its own entrance, its own terrace, and its own garden. Fences and bushes visually separate the terraces and create pleasant privacy. So you have neighbors, but still your very own retreat – with lots of peace, space for yourself, and your personal spot by the lake.
Step in and feel at home right away!
Through the spacious hallway, you enter directly into the kitchen, bathroom, and open living area. Two levels and high ceilings give the ground floor a generous, airy feel. The bright, loft-like living area offers satellite TV and a fantastic view of the lake.
A staircase leads to the upper floor. Due to the ceiling height, it has 4 more steps than usual stairs. Here you will find two cozy bedrooms, both accessible via a small hallway. In both, you’ll find a comfortable double bed. One of the bedrooms also offers a comfortable sleeper chair that can quickly be turned into an extra bed if needed. There’s also a second TV and a fantastic view of the lake – perfect for waking up to a lake view or ending the evening in comfort.

A dream of peace and relaxation and yet great connections in all directions
We felt completely comfortable. Our vacation apartment was spacious, modern, and cozily furnished. We missed nothing. The view from our great living room and from our terrace over the lake was unusually beautiful. Simply a balm for our stressed bodies. Despite the peace and seclusion, there was a perfect connection to the harbor towns of Wismar, Lübeck (with a great artist festival in the seaman's quarter), Rostock/Warnemünde, and even Hamburg. We enjoyed leaving the car behind and exploring the surroundings.
The only downside was that the bathroom was on the ground floor and the two bedrooms were upstairs. We initially wanted to vacation here with our mother, but we are glad that we changed our minds and did not do that.
The apartment is perfect for a couple or a family with 2 children. We would not recommend the apartment for older people. All in all, a wonderful vacation apartment, we will come back.
And to top it off, we were sent off yesterday to the castle festival in Schwerin with a breathtaking light show.

Wonderful holidays by the lake
We were here during Pentecost week and had incredible luck with the weather. This allowed us to fully take advantage of the location of the house right by the lake with paddling (we brought our own boat) and swimming. Otherwise, one could have also made great trips to Schwerin, Wismar, or Lübeck.
The house is really very nice, very spacious, and extremely well-equipped. And the contact with the landlord was uncomplicated and very friendly. Overall highly recommended - also suitable for children due to the small beach area in front of the house.

Thatched roof house by the lake
We were at the wonderful thatched-roof house by the lake in Hohen Viecheln at the beginning of May. It was a completely successful vacation; from the location of the house to the interior design, everything was PERFECT!!! The house is so lovingly furnished, and even the little details were taken care of. Since the weather was great during that time, we were able to use the terrace for grilling and enjoy the lake and the beach. As a starting point for excursions by car (Wismar, Schwerin, Rostock, Warnemünde), the house is ideally located. The contact with the landlady was excellent! Questions were answered immediately and acted upon. We would love to spend our vacation there again anytime.

Wonderful house in the best location
The house is simply a dream. It has been furnished with a lot of love, so that you feel comfortable right away, everything you need is available. The contact with the landlord was great.
We had good weather during our week, so we could also use the associated canoe. The area is also great for cycling, excellent bike paths, you could discover so much. We were able to relax well, the week unfortunately passed too quickly, but we will think back to this vacation for a long time.
Many thanks again to the nice landlord, who created a peaceful retreat with the house in a top location, everything for the benefit of us vacationers.

Unfortunately, we don't live on site, but we have a perfect 'team' that takes care of everything. As we have been holiday home owners for more than 35 years, we were able to draw from a wealth of experience when it came to the furnishings. Trotz der Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit, gab es eine perfekte Anbindung an die Hafenstädte Wismar, Lübeck , ( mit einem tollen Künstlerfest im Seemannsviertel) Rostock/ Warnemünde und gar Hamburg. Wir haben es genossen, das Auto stehen zu lassen und die Umgebung zu erkunden.
Das einzigste Manko war, dass sich das Bad in der untersten Etage und die zwei SZ oben befanden. Wir wollten erst mit unserer Mutter hier Urlaub machen, sind aber froh, dass wir uns umentschieden hatten und das nicht getan haben.
Für ein Paar oder eine Familie mit 2 Kindern ist die Wohnung perfekt. Für ältere Menschen würden wir die Wohnung nicht empfehlen.
Alles in allem aber eine wundervolle Ferienwohnung, wir werden wiederkommen.
Und zur Krönung wurden wir gestern zum Schlossfest in Schwerin mit einer atemberaubenden Lichterschow verabschiedet.
Die Erinnerungen werden bleiben?
Es war ein rundum gelungener Urlaub, angefangen von der Lage des Hauses bis zur Inneneinrichtung war alles PERFEKT!!! Das Haus ist so liebevoll eingerichtet und selbst an Kleinigkeiten wurde gedacht.
Da in der Zeit das Wetter super war, konnten wir die Terrasse zum Grillen nutzen und den See und den Badestrand genießen.
Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge mit dem Auto (Wismar, Schwerin, Rostock, Warnemünde) ist das Haus ideal gelegen.
Der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin war hervorragend! Bei Fragen wurde sofort zurückgerufen und gehandelt. Wir würden jederzeit dort sehr gern wieder unseren Urlaub verbringen.
Das Haus ist wirklich sehr schön, sehr geräumig und extrem gut ausgestattet. Und der Kontakt zur Vermieterin war unkompliziert und sehr freundlich.
Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert - durch den kleinen Strandbereich vor dem Haus auch mit Kindern.
Wir hatten in unserer Woche gutes Wetter, so dass wir auch das dazugehörige Canadier nutzen konnten. Auch zum Fahrrad fahren ist die Gegend dort toll, prima Radwege, man konnte so viel entdecken.
Wir haben und gut erholen können, die Woche leider zu schnell vergangen, aber wir werden noch lange an diesen Urlaub zurück denken.
Vielen Dank nochmal an die nette Vermieterin, welche mit dem Haus in Top-Lage ein Ruhedomizil geschaffen hat, alles zum Wohle für uns Urlauber.
Die Gegend ist auch sehr schön. Man guckt direkt auf dem See und hat auch einen direkten Zugang.
Ein rundum perfekter Ort zum entspannen und Seele baumeln lassen.

Wir kommen gerne wieder.
Gestört hat uns im Haus die steile und ziemlich hohe Treppe zu den beiden Schlafräumen. Letztere waren in der Objektbeschreibung als gemütlich beschrieben. Wir fanden das nicht so, da wir uns wegen der Dachschrägen dort hauptsächlich in gebückter Stellung bewegt haben. Aber das ließ sich beim Umbau des Gebäudes wegen dessen früherer Nutzung wahrscheinlich nicht anders lösen. Bad und Küche waren fast komplett ausgestattet, allerdings vermissten wir eine Microwelle. Schön waren die fast vor allen Fenstern angebrachten Insektengitter. Unschön war die starke Produktion von Kondenswasser im Kühlschrank. Die Ursache konnten wir leider nicht herausfinden.
Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin lief gut, eine defekte padmaschine wurde schnell ersetzt. Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner Urlaub, wobei die Lage des Hauses ausschlaggebend war.
Von der Angebotserstellung über die Kommunkation bis zur Rückzahlung der Kaution:
Alles einwandfrei und tiptop.
Das Haus ist sauber, erstklassig ausgestattet, und es fehlt an nichts.
Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin war super und herzlich. Gerne kommen wir mit besserem Wetter wieder.
Die Unterkunft ist perfekt für einen entspannten Urlaub.
Baden, Essen beim Fischer, Ausflüge nach Wiligrad, Wismar und Schwerin.
Uneingeschränkte Weiterempfehlung! ?
Das Haus ist so wunderbar und liebevoll eingerichtet mit kleinen Details, sei es die Deko oder die Überraschungen die wir hin und wieder entdecken konnten, wenn wir in die Schubladen und Kisten reinschauten. Hier wurde viel Liebe ins Detail gesteckt.
Die Lage des Hauses ist zum erholen einfach grandios.
Für Abenteuer in der Umgebung mussten wir in Richtung der Städte fahren... Alles ist wunderbar schnell zu erreichen.

Wir haben uns rundherum wohl gefühlt.
Auch die Familie Matthies ist bei Rückfragen immer ansprechbar. Wir können dieses Haus nur empfehlen.
Ebenfalls fanden wir gut, dass ein Volleyballfeld direkt am Haus war und man sich sehr gut beschäftigen konnte. Auch gab es in 200 Metern Entfernung einen Verkauf von Fisch, der sehr schmackhaft war. Wir waren rundum zufrieden.
Lage direkt am See, die Ostsee/Wismar ist in 30 Minuten erreichbar, Ausflüge in die Umgebung (Schwerin, Ludwigslust, Seenplatte) bieten sich förmlich an.
Kajaks, Ruderboot und 2 Räder stehen kostenlos zur Verfügung.
In der Hochsaison kann es durch die direkt davorliegende Badestelle vielleicht doch etwas lauter werden. Ansonsten schön ruhig.
Die Städte Schwerin, Wismar und Lübeck sind schnell zu erreichen und haben uns sehr gefallen. Auch ist man schnell mal an der Ostsee!!!
Kann man ohne Einschränkung weiter empfehlen
Wir kommen gern wieder.
Die Küche und der Wohnbereich laden zu Spieleabenden oder gemütlichem Fernsehen gucken ein, das Bad ist modern und mit zwei großen Spiegeln ausgestattet (der Traum einer jeden Frau). Die Schlafzimmer sind gemütlich, alles ist sehr sauber (und wir sind pingelig). Hohen Viecheln ist klein und beschaulich, aber definitiv eine Reise Wert, zumal Schwerin unweit entfernt ist. Wer sich allein, romantisch zu zweit, mit der ganzen Familie oder mit Freunden ein paar schöne Tage machen möchte ist im Haus am See genau richtig! Ein "eigener" Steg, schöne Wege zum spazieren gehen und Fahrräder, die bereitgestellt werden runden das ganze ab. Die Vermieterin ist ein echter Schatz und genau das spiegelt sich in der Gestaltung und Einrichtung des Hauses wider. Wir freuen uns auf das nächste Mal!
Durch die super Tipps, die wir vorab von Frau Schröder-Matthies bekommen haben, waren wir auch kulinarisch bestens versorgt. Unglaublich leckeres Essen bekommt man im Restaurant "Seeblick" und, für uns eine ganz besondere Art einkaufen zu gehen, frisch geräucherten Fisch, nur ein paar Gehminuten vom Haus entfernt, beim Fischer persönlich.
Das unweit entfernte Schwerin sollte man in jedem Fall besuchen. Alleine das Märchenschloss schindet ordentlich Eindruck, die Touri-Busfahrt ist ebenfalls empfehlenswert.
Abends laden das behagliche Wohnzimmer und die Küche zu Spieleabenden oder einfach nur zum entspannen ein.
Auf dem Rad- und Wanderweg, der auch durch ein kleines Waldstück führt, kann man frische Luft tanken und die Natur genießen. Idealerweise stehen auf der Terrasse des Hauses die Fahrräder schon bereit.
Erholsamen Schlaf bekommt man in den, durch die Schrägen äußerst gemütlichen, Schlafzimmern.
Ein rundum gelungenes Wochenende, zu dem dieses Feriendomizil maßgeblich beigetragen hat! Wir kommen defintiv wieder!
Das Objekt ist nicht wie auf den Bildern beschrieben, sondern noch viel schöner. Man schließt die Haustür auf und fühlt sich sofort wohl. In diesem Haus und an diesem Ort fehlt es einem an nichts. Die Erholung und der Urlaub kann sofort beginnen. Man ist schnell in Wismar, Schwerin (was auch sehenswert ist) und auch die restliche Umgebung ist wunderschön. Wir kommen gerne wieder, aber das Nächste Mal auf jeden Fall länger als nur eine Woche.
Nicht nur das Haus an sich, bei dem es an nichts gefehlt hat sondern auch das Objekt-Aussenanlage dessen Lage direkt am Schweriner See perfekt für alle ist die mal so richtig ausspannen wollen...
Da wir im Herbst buchten ist es dort so richtig ruhig gewesen. Angrenzend der Badestrand und Steganlage, mit freier Nutzung - für die kühle Jahreszeit ein absoluter Hinkucker.
Von diesem Domiziel waren auch alle Sehenswürdigkeiten schnell erreichbar.

Mehr Erholung geht nicht. Wir waren 1 Woche dort und haben uns perfekt erholt. Das Haus besticht durch modern-gemütliches Interieur, man hätte es nicht schöner einrichten können. Gepflegt & sauber, funktionell & praktisch, gemütlich & gediegen.
Wir haben uns rumdum wohlgefühlt - dieses Ferienhaus bietet all das, was der geneigte ruhesuchende Urlauber mit einem "Haus am See" assoziiert. Va bene!
