For your recreation Captain Karl and Major Tom offers excellent accommodations. The architect\'s house was offered in 2013 for the first time. It is a \"green building\", allergy-friendly and accessible as built and lovingly decorated and furnished.
It lies in the southwest of the Baltic resort Karlshagen directly at the nature reserve and offers a wide, unobstructed views over the river meadows to Wolgast on the river Peene.
The neighboring flats Major Tom and Captain Karl can be used together as a family accommodation on request.
Leave your car in your reserved parking and forget about it. You can reach the longest sandy beach of Germany in 20 minutes on foot or by bike in 10 minutes. The harbor with fine restaurants and fish trade is 500 meters away and all the necessary shops can be reached on foot in a few minutes.
If you do not bring your own bike, we strongly encourage you to hire quality bikes or e-bikes. You can reach to the well-developed network of trails all major island destinations and attractions. In case of exhaustion or strong wind against you, the UBB-Railway will carry you including bike path back to the town Karlshagen.
Captain Karl and Major Tom are optimal and low barrier built for two people. On both bridges (galleries) a good folding bed for two young seamen exists. Asc for when booking if you need.

If it is raining or you just do not like to go out - no problem!
Captain Karl and Major Tom have satellite TV, wireless internet and a lot of games and books on board.

We want to stay allergy-friendly, so we can not permit animals. Smoking is only allowed on the terrace.
The interior materials are all biologically harmless, the heating avoids dust in the air.

Captain Karl is on the outskirts out of Karlshagen in western direction, with unobstructed look over the nature reserve \"Deichwiesen\" to river Peene and towards Wolgast.
Captain Karl is an ideal starting point for walks directly into the nature reserve out of the front door. Starting point for walks along the river Peene or upon the dike to Peenemünde or Mölschow. Bicycle trips are possible all over the island (450 km cycle network) depending on your condition. There are boat trips from Peenemünde to \"Greifswalder Oie\" and the island of \"Ruden\". Take the ferry to \"Freest\". You reach there surfing and sailing facilities at \"Greifswalder Bodden\". By the way, the \"Marina Karlshagen\" is the largest berthing facilities for sport boats and yachts on Usedom. Karlshagen is one of the less known Baltic Sea baths on the island of Usedom.
Karlshagen is a place in the north of the Island of the Sun. It has an endless and 40-50 m wide sandy beach. Karlshagen has retained the charm of a family resort. Nevertheless, its infrastructure and vacation deals during the last years have been steadily improving. Here, the city kept its tranquility and comfort. It is a vacation paradise on the sunniest island with the longest sandy beach in Germany.
Karlshagen is also connected to the \'Usedom Railway\' UBB that connects all the coastal resorts of the island from Peenemünde to Schwinemünde in Poland. The transport of bicycles is possible. It often is worth ride in one direction and to be reconciled with the UBB back when you no longer like riding the bike.
Besides the natural beauty and relaxing rest the north of the island also offer enough attractions. The Technical Museum in Peenemünde is a good walk away. The cradle of modern space (or the modern missile weapons) is worth seeing as a technical monument and for historical reasons. The cruelty of the military strength of the Wehrmacht and the inventive genius of German scientists under Wernher von Braun are in unholy union close up.
The local history museum in Zinnowitz and the nature worlds in Trassenheide are easily accessible by bicycle. Worthwhile day trips run in the Hanseatic cities of Demmin and Stralsund. Take the ferry to get to the small fishing village of Freest and and travel by boat to the island of Ruden or Greifswald Oie.
By boat, you can also reach the island of Rügen and the Polish extension of Usedom: the part of the island called Wolin.

Visitor's tax and laundry package (if required) will be charged on site. From 10 nights onwards, Käptn Karl + Major Tom grant a discount of 10%. |

The newly built architect-designed house with the maritime ambience was first offered for rent in the year 2013. It is designed for two adults and two children.
In the first year Captain Karl grants 20% opening discount if you\'re booking more than 7 days in a row.

Far-sightedness
A very nice, cozy, and clean house in a quiet location with unobstructed views over the fields. A car and at least bicycles are indispensable. With our bicycles, we were able to explore the surroundings and ultimately almost the entire island.

Kollosal ruhig
Escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the tranquility, that's Käpt'n Karl's cabin. Complete peace (except for New Year's Eve on the beach, of course) and the wide view from the bridge over the nature reserve, simply beautiful. Everything is very neat and well-maintained. The website is optimal with many insider tips available to us as "passengers."
