On the edge of the green, small-scale bungalow park De Herkingse Zeedijk lies our charming holiday cottage, fully renovated in 2025. The cottage is located directly behind the sea dike, with the Grevelingenmeer and the Herkingen beach just about 230 meters away.
From the living room, dining area, and sunny backyard, you have a view of the green sea dike, where sheep regularly pass by. ’t Strandhuisje is carefully furnished and suitable for up to 4 people and a child up to about 3 years old.
SLEEPING
The cottage has two bedrooms. The bedroom on the ground floor has a comfortable box spring bed of 160 × 200 cm with topper. Upstairs there is a box spring bed of 140 × 200 cm with topper. Both beds have a double duvet and pillows. In the upstairs bedroom, there is space for a travel crib (provided).
Bed linen and towels are included in your stay, so you do not need to bring your own.
LIVING ROOM
The cozy living room has a spacious three-seater sofa and a comfortable armchair. From the living room, you have a lovely view of the garden and dike.
The fireplace adds extra atmosphere to the living room but is for decorative purposes only and cannot be used during your stay.
There is a Philips Smart TV with KPN TV. You can use your favorite apps and stream from your phone to the television. Of course, there is free wifi.
KITCHEN & DINING AREA
The new kitchen is fully equipped with a 4-burner induction hob, dishwasher, combination oven/microwave, and spacious retro fridge with freezer compartment.
In addition, there is a Senseo, kettle, air fryer, toaster, hand blender, and sandwich/grill maker. Naturally, you will find plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, pans, and cooking utensils. Oil, pepper, and salt are also provided.
The dining table seats four people. A great place for extensive dining, playing a game, or just enjoying the view of the garden.
BATHROOM
The modern bathroom has a shower with thermostat tap, toilet, designer radiator, washbasin cabinet, and mirrored cabinet.
GARDEN & TERRACE
The sunny backyard faces south and overlooks the dike. On the terrace, there is a garden table with six chairs and a parasol. For barbecue lovers, a Weber BBQ is ready.
The ditch behind the garden is fenced off.
In the wooden shed, there are two extra adjustable garden chairs with cushions. You can also safely and dryly store your bicycles here.
PARKING
You can park your car directly at the cottage on your own driveway. For a possible second car, there is a private parking space about 50 meters away in the park.
SURROUNDINGS
From ’t Strandhuisje you can walk straight to the Grevelingenmeer. Herkingen is also a great base for trips to Ouddorp, Middelharnis, Bruinisse, Zierikzee, Renesse, Brielle, and the Zeeland islands.
