There is a supermarket in Herkingen with a wide range of products. In the morning, this supermarket offers a nice selection of hot rolls, croissants, etc. They also have local delicacies, cold cuts, cheese and snacks. In addition to 2 large marinas, Herkingen also has a snack bar, a pizzeria, a brasserie and a restaurant. If you don't feel like cooking, you can visit these.
There is plenty to do for young and old on the island of Goeree Overflakkee. There are countless walking and cycling routes through the beautiful and varied nature. There are polders, forests and nature reserves, such as the Slikken van Flakkee, where cattle and fjord horses run.
Nearby are swimming pools, a seal sanctuary, fauna park etc.
In about 20 minutes you are in Ouddorp and the open North Sea, where there are countless water sports possibilities. If you want to go shopping, you can drive 10 minutes by car to the village of Middelharnis, where there are many shops and nice boutiques.
