In the vicinity of Leons, you will find various nature reserves, such as De Alde Feanen National Park and the Frisian Lake District. Cities like Franeker and Sneek are also nearby. If you are interested in local culture, you should definitely give Frisian cuisine a chance. Taste typical Frisian delicacies, such as sugar bread, Fryske dúmkes (Frisian cookies), and Beerenburg, a traditional herbal liqueur. Na een lange rit waren we blij met de ruime accommodatie voor onze groep van acht personen. De combinatie van slaapkamers boven en beneden bood privacy terwijl we toch dicht bij elkaar waren. Twee badkamers op de bovenverdieping zorgden ervoor dat iedereen zich snel kon klaarmaken in de ochtend. Fijn dat er elektrische fietsverhuur beschikbaar was, zo konden we gemakkelijk lokale natuurparken verkennen.
