Description

To ease your arrival, we've taken care of a few basic necessities for the first few days such as salt, pepper, coffee creamer, sugar, and coffee and tea. There are also dishwasher tabs, 1 kitchen towel, and 1 dish towel.

In the living room, there are 2 comfortable sofas and 1 armchair. When you're not out and about, you can relax here, chat with each other, have a drink, or watch TV.
The dining area also seats 4 people. Besides dining together, this table is great for playing games! The cozy living room has a sliding door on the south side, which makes it wonderfully bright.

From the living room, you can reach the upper floor via the sturdy and solid staircase, where bedrooms 1 and 2 are located. Bedroom 1 has 2 comfortable box spring beds measuring 90 x 10 cm (king-size bed!) (can also be used as a double bed). The bedroom has a built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage space. A camping bed for your little ones can also be added to this room. In bedroom 2, there are 2 beds measuring 90 x 200 cm and there is enough space to store your things.
All bedrooms are equipped with roller blinds and screens.

Additionally, there is an extra toilet in the room between the 2 bedrooms.

Bed linen is included in your stay. The beds will be made for you so that your vacation can start immediately upon arrival! You should bring your own towels. From the living room, you enter the sunny south-facing terrace. If you need more shade, the large sun umbrella will soon be extended, and you can sit wonderfully in the shade.

The terrace features a garden and a sun umbrella. In fine weather, you can enjoy a nice lunch, drinks, or a barbecue on the grill that belongs to the holiday home.

In the garden, there is a slide where children can slide wonderfully. There is also a sandbox. In the garden house, there is a collection of bicycles and gardening tools. There is also beach toys for the children, so you don't need to bring these from home.

There is also a three-person infrared sauna!

You can use free Wi-Fi in the holiday home.

In Vakantiehuis Zonneschijn, there is parking space for one car. Additionally, there is a common parking area at the park where you can park (free of charge).

Location and surroundings of object

In addition to 2 large marinas, Herkingen also has a snackbar, a brasserie, and a sushi restaurant. If you don’t feel like cooking, you can visit these.

On the island of Goeree Overflakkee, there is much to experience for young and old. There are countless hiking and cycling paths through the beautiful and varied nature. There are polders, forests, and nature reserves, e.g. the Slikken van Flakkee, where cattle and fjord horses roam. Nearby there are swimming pools, a seal sanctuary, Faunapark, etc.
In about 20 minutes you are in Ouddorp and at the open North Sea, where there are countless water sports opportunities. If you want to shop or go shopping, you can drive to the village of Middelharnis in 10 minutes by car, where there are many shops and beautiful boutiques. In our holiday home there is an information folder in which you will find not only the house rules but also information about activities and sights in the area.

Summer vacation

The house was ready for occupancy on time as advertised, and the landlords were available on-site in German, English, and Dutch to provide us with the most important information. The house is clean and very usable for 4 people. There isn't much happening in Herkingen, so you have to drive to the nearby districts. However, we also used the small beach about 200m away, but it's not a full-day activity. With the 4 bicycles provided, one can make very good use of and explore the beautiful area. Good bike paths to the coastal regions are very accessible and safe (even with children).

The landlords Marleen and Wout are very nice and helpful.

Holiday home Sunshine

What can one say, everything was tip-top, everything you need for cooking in the kitchen. Outlets were childproofed, a balance bike for the little one was also available on site. Sandbox and small slide in the garden. Pictures don't deceive, everything as shown. We really enjoyed the week, and if we're in the area again, Wout and Marleen will be our first point of contact. Thank you.
