Surrounded by a dense forest in an idyllic clearing, the mountain hut awaits you at 1,380 metres. This mountain hut on the Pillberg is the ideal place to enjoy the tranquillity of nature.
This mountain hut is very cosy and furnished with great taste and attention to detail. This mountain hut on the Pillberg combines the luxury of modern living with traditional elements. The spacious entrance area offers plenty of space for your wardrobe and leads you inside. Here you will find the cosy bedroom with a double bed, TV and plenty of storage space. A separate bathroom with shower and WC. And next door is the well-equipped kitchen, which leaves nothing to be desired. Integrated into the modern kitchen is a traditional wood-burning stove, which provides cosy warmth. The wood-burning cooker can not only be used for cooking, but also heats the entire house, ensuring a warm and cosy atmosphere at all times. If the fire goes out, the gas heating switches on automatically so that you can enjoy a cosy indoor climate at all times. The dining area is perfect for enjoying meals together and sharing good times. You can access the large terrace through the kitchen. Here you will be impressed by the covered hot tub and the small wellness area with sun loungers. The hot tub is also perfect as a cold-water pool after a sauna session.
You can barbecue on the terrace and enjoy your meal in the shade of the large spruce trees or under the parasol. In the hut, a staircase leads to the upper floor and the other bedrooms. The comfortable double bedroom has an open bathtub and its own washbasin. The two other bedrooms in the hut each have two single beds.
There are numerous hiking trails, mountain bike tours and mountain inns in the immediate vicinity. Just a few minutes' walk from the mountain hut on the Pillberg, the Kellerjoch cable car also takes you to the legendary Hecherhaus at an altitude of over 1,900 metres and to the Kellerjoch Hütte at 2,234 metres in summer. In addition to the breathtaking view over the Tyrolean mountains, you can also enjoy Tyrolean specialities to the full up there.

Situated at the top of the Hochpillberg in the middle of the spruce forest, the mountain hut house no. 196 (above the Gasthof Hubertushof) is located on the Hochpillberg at an altitude of 1340 metres above sea level and can be reached via a logging road!
First you have to take the Pillbergstrasse up to the Grafenast - then continue towards the lift and then to the upper lift car park!
And then take the first turn-off to the right downhill and you have already arrived at the Refugium - the forest around the hut is part of it - you have no direct neighbours in the immediate vicinity - now your holiday begins!

Cable car hike with the Kellerjochbahn cable car | 0.7 km
The Kellerjochbahn cable car takes you comfortably up to 1,990 m. Once at the top, you can stop off at the Hecherhaus or hike straight on to the Kellerjochhütte, a leisurely 50-minute hike. The Kellerjochhütte is spectacularly situated at 2,237 metres at the summit of the Kellerjoch massif.

In the Weißlahn there are peaceful fish and predatory fish. Carp, pike, sturgeon and trout are particularly popular here. You can buy day tickets on site from the supervising fisherman in the Fischerstüberl.
