Description
Holidays on a houseboat - the old lady 'Animo' invites you to dream and relax. Nautical, individual and very cosy. Uniquely different!
An extraordinary experience: the gurgling of the water on the hull, the constantly moving light reflections, the creaking of the ropes - on the water, the perceptions are more intense and carry you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The large steering position with cosy seating area has huge windows facing the water and land. A normal front staircase leads to the living area in the hull with galley and integrated large saloon, small and large sleeping cabin and bathroom with shower and separate WC. All rooms have unusually high headroom for a boat. Everyday conveniences such as central heating, dishwasher, cooker, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, tumble dryer, TV etc. are available. Enjoy the sun in a deckchair on the foredeck, but in the fresh air on the covered aft deck when it rains - pure relaxation on the water!

Location and surroundings of object
The historic Old Harbour in Weener is home to a wide variety of traditional ships, most of which are also inhabited. Adjacent to the Old Harbour is the modern marina and the Marina Park with its waterfront properties. The harbour is wonderful to walk around. During the season, the lock constantly 'spits out' new ships and yachts, a constant coming and going that you can witness from the centre. In the season, the cosy beer garden of 'Haffen55' is adjacent to the lock and offers ice cream, drinks, various dishes and cakes. More restaurants can be found on the harbour walk.
Shopping facilities such as Edeka, Combi, Aldi and Lidl can also be found on site.
A launderette with washing machines and dryers is just a few metres away.
The Organeum and the Hesse Park with its wild horses in Weener, the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, the old town and the museum harbour of Leer, the cute crab fishing village of Ditzum, the drilling platform on the Dollart, Groningen in the Netherlands, day trips to Borkum or Norderney, the miniature museum in Leer - every weather has its excursion! Great short vacation
Dear Catharina,
we had a few beautiful days on board the Animo. Unfortunately, due to weather and illness, we had to cut our vacation short. Even our dog Flumi felt very comfortable. We would love to come back.

Great short vacation
Dear Catharina,
Thank you once again for allowing us to come to your place for a weekend as "repeat offenders" [that's what you called us :-)]. We not only enjoyed ourselves again, but our dog did too! Being able to move freely on board was a highlight for our dog.
The food and drinks at "Haffen 55," across the way, were also delicious and recommendable, as always.
We felt very comfortable again and will be coming back. Always worth a trip.

Pure surprise!
End of June 2022.
Not only the Old Lady, with its enchanting atmosphere, one immediately feels transported to a different world, but also the hosts Catharina and Hilmar are absolutely fantastic. Feeling good, recovering, relaxing, and enjoying are the top priorities here. The two always have an open ear for everything and everyone and take care of you immediately on site if you need help.
In addition, the location right at the Hafen 55 and its entire team is simply perfect. Greetings to everyone.
Especially the fish soup prepared by Hilmar himself is a blast.
The proximity to the Ems and to Holland allows for comfortable excursions, for example to the Meyerwerft Papenburg and/or Groningen, which, by the way, has a great weekly market. You can put together wonderful bike tours from the brochures that are available. It is recommended, for example, to take a trip to Ditzum to the fish house at the old ferry port.
Dear Catharina, special thanks of course for your personal invitation to your unique barn with your wonderful, creative workshop products. We are still very enthusiastic about your incredible project and continue to admire your dedication. We really lack the superlatives.
We are already looking forward to seeing you again soon.
