Description
Experience peace and relaxation in the "Q'stall" holiday flat in the small village of Ferstenborgum near Weener, East Frisia. With a living space of 33.5 square metres, the flat offers enough space for up to two guests, with an eat-in kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom.
If you are travelling with children, we can put a cosy little caravan with 2 sleeping places in front of the door (for an extra charge). There is also a fully equipped caravan with 2 beds in the garden.
The flat impresses with its individual furnishings, which create a cosy atmosphere. Original upcycling ideas give the rooms a soul.
In the neighbouring Gulf barn, the hostess creates art from scrap steel. Here you can marvel, or perhaps try your hand at it yourself
Enjoy the peace and quiet in our large garden and relax on the terrace. A good-natured dog can run, romp and bark freely here - just be a dog!
The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, freezer and fridge, oven, 2-ring hob, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. Bed linen, towels and a hairdryer are of course provided and a TV and free WLAN are available for your entertainment. A barbecue is also available for you. If you are missing anything - your hosts live next door and will be happy to help!
We are happy to provide you with 2 simple bicycles for outdoor activities. With these you can quickly reach the romantic harbour of Weener with its restaurants in 2.5 km away from the road on a cycle path between the sheep along the dyke. There you will also find all the shopping facilities (Edeka, Combi, Aldi, Lidl).
For anglers and nature lovers: in the immediate vicinity (within walking distance) is the Ferstenborgumer Kolk, a large body of water of the ASV Rheiderland.
There are many excursion destinations: Papenburg and Leer are easily accessible by bike or car. The shrimp fishing village of Ditzum and the nearby 'Bohrinsel' (a platform jutting out into the Dollart with a wonderful view) are definitely worth a visit. If you are ready for the island, you can plan a day trip to Borkum and Norderney. The Netherlands is only 15 kilometres away. Here we recommend a day trip to Groningen with its many canals, houseboats and bicycles - you can easily take the train from Weener. Your hosts will be happy to help you with tips for excursions, depending on the weather!

Location and surroundings of object
The Gulfhof dating from 1734 is situated directly on the dyke of the Gezeitenems and is surrounded by a large garden and extensive fields. The village of Ferstenborgum consists of about 8 houses/farms. The small town of Weener with its romantic harbour is 2.5 km away. It is located between the East Frisian harbour town of Leer and the Fehnstadt Papenburg with the Meyer shipyard.

Great location and friendly hosts
When we arrived at the Q' Stall, we were warmly welcomed by Chaterina, and her husband Wilma was also very friendly. From the road, you could already admire the hostess's art. Then everything was unpacked, and I must say that this vacation apartment is really very cozy! The old barn and the metal art are simply wow! The garden was also a true oasis for us. In the evening, one could sit on the cozy terrace and simply enjoy nature while watching the horses in the paddock. We brought our dog along; he got along great with the sweet Emil and also with the neighbor's dog Elmo. The nearest supermarket was a pleasant 3 km away by bike; luckily, they offer bicycles and even a bike trailer, making it easy to get anywhere. Along the dyke to the harbor, you are surprised by sheep that like to take their afternoon nap on the pathways. All in all, it was a very, very beautiful experience at Q' Stall, and next year we will definitely be back.

Fine, small, lovingly furnished vacation apartment with everything you need in a quiet location. We were warmly welcomed. For the four-legged friend there were treats, for the two-legged ones cold drinks and snacks. Our dog could move freely and enjoyed it. There were many excursion tips and nice conversations with Catharina and Hilmar. The art barn is worth seeing. We were lucky to experience a ship transfer right outside the front door. The whole vacation was a complete success. Therefore it is clear: we will be back!

Guests in September 2021 as a couple for a relaxing holiday.
Quiet holiday apartment in a beautiful green location with a pony + horse as neighbors and the landlord's dog is very sweet. The right place to relax, wonderful bike paths all the way to the far north and the small town of Weener with its small harbor. Always happy to come back. PS.: The landlords, the Bockhacker family, are very friendly and nice.

Guests in July 2020 as a couple with a child and a dog for a relaxing holiday:
We spent our summer vacation in the beautiful Rheiderland with two children and our dog.
Directly behind the dike is a large property with plenty of space for young and old.
Surrounded by lots of greenery and various animals, we immediately felt at home.
Catharina and Hilmar were the best hosts you could wish for.
The holiday apartment and the construction trailer are very cozy and functional.
We were very happy about the little extras for welcoming us, the delicious smoothies, and the bread delivery service.
We were even able to go pony riding in the neighborhood and take a small harbor tour in Weener.
There were no wishes left unfulfilled.
The creative environment in and in front of the barn, as well as the good conversations with Hilmar and Catharina, were very pleasant and inspiring.
We would love to come back.

Dear guests, I live with my husband Hilmar and our dog Emil in our enchanted Gulfhof. The large barn is dedicated to art with metal, I make fire barrels, give workshops and also like to doodle (see picture :).
