Description
The newly renovated 2.5 room rustico Gino stands under a large walnut tree in the hamlet of Monti di Vairano, above San Nazzaro on the Riviera del Gambarogno, on the left bank of Lake Maggiore. It can accommodate 4 persons and consists of a bright kitchen-living room with a modern fitted kitchen, a large dining table and a pellet stove, as well as an exit to the garden. The modern furnished living room is equipped with two leather sofas, the original fireplace gives the room a special atmosphere. The bathroom has a shower and WC. The slightly higher bedrooms are accessible via a staircase. The master bedroom has a double bed, the children's room is equipped with 2 single beds.
Hike along the panoramic path to Monte Gambarogno with fantastic views; relax on the yoga path between Vairano and the carft village of Sass da Grüm below Monti dei Vairano; explore the dreamy hamlets on the easily accessible high trail up to Monti di Caviano, the so-called Cento Campi, where you can admire the only houses in Ticino with thatched roofs. Do you feel like cooling off? Then just drive down to the shore places in a few minutes, here you will find great public beach baths. A post bus takes you up the winding mountain road to the Alpe di Neggia (Neggia Pass - starting point for hikes to the peaks of Monte Tamaro (1961 m.a.s.l.) and Monte Gambarogno (1734 m.a.s.l.) and further down to the remote mountain village of Indemini, a typical Ticino village right on the Italian border, characterised by its houses built of local grey gneiss with stone slab roofs and wooden arbours. Time seems to have stood still here, but a visit to the museum bears witness to the once lively village life.
The Riviera del Gambarogno is situated on the shores of Lake Maggiore just opposite Locarno and Ascona. In winter the region remains rather shady, but in summer it transforms into a sunny and fascinating holiday paradise thanks to the deep green lake, the beautiful villages and the mountains in the background. Palm trees, vineyards, chestnut woods and pretty villages on the shore and on the hills; the Riviera del Gambarogno embodies all this.

Nettes kleines Rustico von Außen sehr schlicht dafür drinnen schön und gemütlich. Moderne Heizung in Küche und Bad und Kamin im Wohnzimmer.

We had wonderful days in the Rustico and will definitely come back. Only the access via the extremely narrow alley that gets narrower towards the end cost us a lot of nerves. The view of Lake Maggiore was simply wonderful. Unfortunately, the promised firewood was also missing. Too bad, especially since the evenings were already quite cool.

Beautiful view of the mountains and the lake in a quiet location. Everything you need is available (kitchen utensils, heating, loungers), with a nice newly made seating area with a fireplace. Easy key handover. It was perfect for us.
