Spacious 5 room duplex apartment. On the 1st floor is the comfortable and cosy open plan living room with swedish stove, cable TV and exit to the balcony with lake view. The open kitchen offers a kitchen island with dining facilities. A separate dining room with exit to the garden sitting area with barbecue and a bathroom with shower/WC and washing machine. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds and a foldaway bed and a desk. 1 room with french bed. Bathroom with bathtub/WC. Terrace, garden sitting area with barbecue, terrace furniture. View on the lake, the mountains and the landscape. 2 covered parking spaces directly at the house are available for guests. The apartment can be reached via internal stairs or via a detour (footpath).
The Residenza al Castagno is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the typical Ticino village of Piazzogna. Several restaurants, a village shop and bus stop are only 200m away. The village is an ideal starting point for excursions and shopping in nearby Italy.
The Riviera del Gambarogno is situated on the shores of Lake Maggiore just opposite Locarno and Ascona. In winter the region remains rather shady, but in summer it transforms into a small and fascinating holiday paradise thanks to the deep green lake, the beautiful villages and the mountains in the background. Palm trees, vineyards, chestnut woods and pretty villages on the shore and on the hills; the Riviera del Gambarogno embodies all this. On the hill terrace between Piazzogna and Vairano is the famous Botanical Garden of Reto Eisenhut; well worth a visit. Numerous footpaths wind through chestnut woods and lush pastures past dreamy alpine villages to the mountains of Monte Gambarogno and Monte Tamaro with their fantastic panoramic views.

Location and surroundings of object
Every village in the Gambarogno region has its own public beach. Here you can swim, trampoline jumping, rowing, sailing, canoeing, surfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, stand up paddling: all these sports are on offer. The region also has a magnificent network of hiking trails and a varied cultural offer. The Bolle dei Magadino nature reserve is an interesting destination for the whole family and offers public guided tours on foot or by boat. The Gambarogno can be reached by public transport by bus, train or boat. Bank, post office, shops and restaurants can be found in the village. From the shore towns of the Gambarogno, scheduled boats go to Locarno, Ascona and the Brissago Islands. The Ticino cities of Lugano, Locarno and Bellinzona can be reached just as quickly as the Italian town of Luino, where the traditional market takes place on Wednesdays and is popular with tourists and locals alike.

A great apartment that is very suitable for four adults as there are two bathrooms. Balcony and view over Lake Maggiore are unique. A car is recommended, although there are good restaurants and a small shop in the village. We really enjoyed the ten days.

A beautiful house in a prime location at the end of a dead-end street (very quiet) with lake views. We have already been there at Easter and now in autumn, and the front balcony has evening sun during these seasons too! The side terrace with garden grill and cozy dining area is very nice - also with great lake views. Cozy hours in the living room/kitchen with a Swedish stove. The kitchen is well-equipped and everything is very clean. Comfortable beds. The only shower option in the upper bathroom is not ideal, as the bathtub is under the sloping roof without a shower curtain. Great hiking opportunities directly from the house (exit from terrace to hiking trail). Small shop in the village that sells everything necessary.

A great flat, very suitable for four adults as there are two bathrooms. The balcony and view over Lake Maggiore are unique.
A car is recommended, although there is good gastronomy and a small shop in the village. We enjoyed the ten days very much.
