OB House Bluhmki
East Frisia-Southbrookmeerland-Forlitz-Blaukirchen

Description
The Ostfrieslandhaus-Bluhmki is an old, genuine East Frisian farmhouse consisting of a residential building and a stable. Both areas are combined under one large roof. The house was built in 1896 on old foundations from 1770 and has been rebuilt several times over the years. In 2004, the entire living area was completely renovated and modernised. Since then, this building has served purely as a holiday home for rest and relaxation. The stable has also been renovated and is used only by the owners themselves for occasional visits.
The house houses a holiday flat of 120 sqm. The entrance hall leads to a cosy living room with a real leather suite. The living room is equipped with a large flat screen (SAT-TV). In a massive pine cupboard, things of daily use and many board games are stored. From the south-west side, a lot of light falls through the three mullioned windows during the day and casts cosy shadows into the room.
The hallway also leads to a large kitchen-living room. There is a modern fitted kitchen with ceramic hob, oven, sink, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. The large solid beechwood table can comfortably seat up to 8 people for dining, drinking or playing table games.
The large hallway gives access to the friendly master bedroom with double bed and wardrobe. In another pretty little room, children's room no. 1, there is a single bed. The beautiful room next to it is furnished with two beds. The third door of the hallway leads to a utility room with washing and drying machine. All household utensils, items and appliances are there.
Another hallway leads to a spacious, fully tiled bathroom with hand basin, shower bath and bathtub.
The WC, also fully tiled, is separate and is located one door further
At the end of the second corridor is children's room no. 3, which is brightly lit and ventilated on the garden side via a large skylight. Two beds, one half-height with under-built wardrobe and one solid single bed are accommodated in this room. In the wardrobe of this room is a children's travel cot.
The terrace on the south side invites you to linger in summer under the three old lime trees. Deck chairs are in the hutch, cushions in the utility room.
The rest of the garden, mainly meadow, is fenced all around. At the end of the garden there is a garden house where barbecue deckchairs and bicycles are stored. The bicycles are at the free disposal of our holiday guests, without guarantee. However, they are always in the same condition as the previous guest left them. For our part, we can only service them once a year. Air pump, repair kit and small tools are always on site.
Hidden behind the privacy fence, next to the stable, is the rubbish corner. In East Frisia, there is a strict separation of yellow bin, paper bin, organic bin and residual waste bin. The collection schedule is posted on site in the utility room. The bins must be placed by the holidaymakers themselves on the correct day at the corner of Enderweg/Schützenweg. It is important that they always face the street in the direction of the arrow, otherwise they will not be taken away.

Location and surroundings of object
The house is located in a residential area which is a cul-de-sac. Since this pretty little settlement is not a holiday home area, there is only the little traffic of the residents. The helpful neighbourhood is very friendly, completely unobtrusive and very fond of us and our OB house. The OB house is detached. To the left of the house is an old stable, but it is empty and only used for storage. To the right there is a residential house with a stable which is also only used as a garage and storage room. The largest part of the property is not visible from the outside because of the enclosing greenery.
At the back of the house there is a parking space for up to four normal cars.
In about five minutes by car you can reach the freshwater lake "Großes Meer". Here there is a large bathing beach and numerous possibilities for leisure activities. There are also many possibilities for water sports. Sailing, canoeing, paddle and pedal tours, a huge active playground or a lake walk over two pünten (chain ferries with self-service) are a lot of fun.
In season, there are also nice events worth seeing around the new culture and tourism building. A modern sauna facility is also housed there.
If you like, you can enjoy a hearty meal on the lakeside terrace of the Meerwarthaus-Ubben or get something to eat at the snack bar
A round trip with a rented motorboat from the big sea to Emden and back is highly recommended, as we have already done it several times. This can be booked easily by telephone.
Because this house is centrally located in the middle of East Frisia, all the harbours, the islands and the North Sea islands are very easy to reach by car. As a rule, you can reach the coast in half an hour to three quarters of an hour. The natural beach at Knock is highly recommended. From the free car park, at the
Café-Strandlust, you reach the natural beach of the North Sea in about 1000 metres. It's a good place to swim, and dogs can usually run around freely. You are usually relatively alone there, because many people don't want to walk the 1000 metres.
All the other destinations on the coast offer a variety of attractions for young and old. A large collection of brochures and information material lies in the drawers of the living room cupboard. We have written reports of our own excursions and filed them in the destination books, which are on the shelf in the hallway.
The towns of Aurich, Emden, Leer and Greetsiel with the twin mills are also very worthwhile destinations. In Aurich, a visit to the Enercon Windmill Museum is worthwhile, especially with children. Very exciting, very informative and entertaining. If you drive past the Enercon Museum towards the coast, you will come to Lake Tannhäuser on the left with a great free lido (parking fee only) and a little further on to the left to the small, enchanted Silver Lake. Ideal for dogs. You are usually alone there.
If you have enough time, you should keep a day free to visit the Meyer shipyard. Very worthwhile in any case. But early booking is necessary.

Contact
Mr. L. Bluhmki

My wife and I, Ute and Ludger Bluhmki, live in Oberhausen and bought this holiday home in 2004 and lovingly restored it. As an architect, I was responsible for the craftsmanship. My wife took care of the home furnishings. With our two children and our dogs, we have always spent wonderful days in this beautiful place. We are both just over 60 years old and hope that we will be able to spend many more pleasant holidays in this house. We are always very concerned about the pleasant stay of our guests. Many returning guests suggest that we have done most things right so far.
