It is about 10 km to the well-maintained bathing beach in Rerik, for example. All supply and shopping facilities (e.g. Netto, Rewe, Aldi, Rossmann) are available in the small town of Neubukow (approx. 6 km) with petrol stations, bicycle shops and rentals, doctors, pharmacies, restaurants, there is also a railway connection to Rostock via Kröpelin and Bad Doberan, west to Wismar and to the nearby Baltic seaside resort of Rerik, the village of Pepelow is connected to Neubukow by bus, the university town of Rostock is approx. 35 km away to the east
