HOLIDAY HOME
In Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, authentic, fully restored, detached dike house with beautiful view in Driewegen (municipality Biervliet, near Breskens, Nieuwvliet-bad, Cadzand) on 600 m2 land. From 2021 this dyke house / villa / holiday home is for rent. The characteristic dyke house is located 10 minutes by bike from a beautiful nature reserve on the Westerschelde (including beach) and 10 minutes by car from the North Sea beach. After 5 minutes of cycling you are at cheese farm "de Vos" or the bakery in Biervliet or Hoofdplaat. The cozy dike house has a beautifully landscaped and sheltered garden to the south and a conservatory with fantastic panoramic views over the countryside. There is a lovely sitting area and a separate sun/play area for children. In the covered conservatory (20 m2) with sliding glass panels you are able to enjoy the first rays of sunshine "outside" also in spring, autumn and winter . The house has on the ground floor a modern living / dining kitchen (20 m2) with appliances (oven / microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher) and a cozy living room (28 m2, floor heating) overlooking the garden. There is internet (WIFI), TV and a music speaker available. The bathroom has a sink and a spacious shower. On the first floor are two separate bedrooms (1 bedroom with a 2-person box spring (2.00x 1.80), a second bedroom with two double beds and a single bed. Also on the ground floor is another bedroom with a double bed (1.60 x 2.00), the house is therefore also ideal for 2 couples. The Mediterranean garden offers privacy with sun and shade under 3 beautiful trees, including a Paulowna tree. Playground and soccer field +/- 350 meters away. Two separate private parking spaces available. Shops and some restaurants at 2-5 km distance.
ENVIRONMENT
Driewegen is a small hamlet where two dykes meet in the middle of Zeeland's countryside. The detached house on the dike, with its lovely garden and covered south-facing conservatory, offers wonderful unobstructed views. Ideal for families, coasters, walkers and cyclists. From Driewegen you can cycle in 10 minutes to the nature reserve at Hoofdplaat, Breskens is 9 km away and the North Sea beach is 25 minutes by bike or 10 minutes by car. The cosy villages Groede (11 km), the most beautiful beach of the Netherlands at Nieuwvliet-bad (14 km) and Cadzand-bad (18 km) can be reached via a beautiful bicycle route through the dunes. Because of its location the dike house is suitable as a base to visit both the tourist areas (Cadzand, Nieuwvliet or the cosy shopping town of Sluis) and the unspoilt nature of Zeeland. You can also drive to the Belgian seaside resort of Knokke, picturesque Bruges or enjoy the museums and culture in Ghent, Antwerp or Breda. The area itself is not overrun by tourists, even in the summer. However, there is plenty to do and experience in the immediate vicinity, from hiking, cycling, swimming, picking samphire to sailing and surfing. Furthermore, Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is known for its many beach clubs and excellent restaurants (michelin* at 8 km distance). You can take the bicycle ferry from Breskens to visit Vlissingen or go on a cycling tour via Zoutelande to Domburg. Also Zierikzee, Veere, Goes or Middelburg are easy to reach for a day trip. In the winter you can take ski or snowboard lessons in SNOW-WORLD Terneuzen.

- Duvets are provided, but bring your own linen (bed linen, bath, hand &, tea towels etc,)
- Cleaning costs 55 euros.
- Price in low (Euro 600, -) / medium (Euro 800-950,-) / high season (Euro 1095, -) per week. See calendar!
- When booking: deposit of Euro 250, - / week. At least six weeks before departure the full rent plus deposit / key money
- Deposit is after the end of your holiday within 2 weeks returned with reduction tourist tax., cleaning, and any expenses.
- Deposit/key money: Euro 400,--
- Outside High Season midweek (Monday-Friday) or weekend (Friday-Monday) possible in consultation. Cleaning yourself care / outsourcing in consultation.

Super nice and spacious house
What a nice atmosphere in this cottage. There is a lot of space, also for our three children. They had a great time in the large attic bedroom with cozy alcoves and plenty of toys, games, and books. They can even play badminton there. The very spacious kitchen, equipped with many conveniences, has a fantastic view of the fields. There is plenty to see in nature: pheasants, various songbirds, birds of prey, even a fox, etc. The living room and adjoining conservatory are nice quiet spots. The greenhouse is also quickly a spot where you can catch the sun in the spring.
The little house is clean and neatly furnished. Everything is provided.
The large garden has all sorts of nice corners. At any time of the day, there is sun and shade somewhere. The small grass area has become a favorite spot for the children to play, play kubbs, lie down and read, etc.
A beautiful base for various trips. Several beaches are nearby, seal spotting. Nice Zeeland villages and towns, and we have also been to several Belgian cities. Easily accessible. We are happy to come back here.

A lovely house
We were alone for most of the time, during the weekend our daughter and her boyfriend were with us. It was the third time we stayed there for a whole week, and once again we enjoyed it.
The atmosphere in the house radiates calm. It is spacious, comfortable, and clean. From the moment you step inside, you feel welcome. The conservatory is a pleasant and special addition; when the sun shines even a little, it's delightful to be there. The same can be said for the large garden, with different spots where you can sit sheltered or not and space! The decor has been done with care, and almost nothing is missing. There are also plenty of cups, plates, cutlery, etc., and (not unimportantly) the wifi works great. The bedrooms are spacious with good beds.
By car or bike, you can quickly reach the nice other places in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. Shops and restaurants are also all well within reach. And within three quarters of an hour by car in Ghent, Bruges or Antwerp for a nice day out. By the way, a personal tip, 'the detour' a walk of about 6 km in Hoofdplaat (4 km further along the Westerschelde) is recommended both 'clockwise' and 'counterclockwise.'
And furthermore: photos of the house on the website were accurate, communication with the host went smoothly and quickly, and the price/quality ratio is good.

Wonderful vacation home
We, as a family (two children aged 1 and 5 years), stayed in the Deichhaus for a few days.
We liked it from the beginning.
The house is big, clean, and lovingly furnished.
The kitchen is especially beautiful, with a great view of a field and the surrounding area.
The conservatory is very bright and friendly, perfect for days with changing weather.
The garden is very large and lovingly designed, offering a lot of privacy and great for children to play.
Our son especially liked the large children's room.
The entire house has a special, beautiful atmosphere to feel good in.
With the car, we were able to explore the surroundings well and were at a great sandy beach with dunes in just a few minutes.
The communication with the landlords worked great.
We would love to come back.

Holiday
We were there as a family with 3 children (9, 13, 15).
The kitchen is very well equipped, and overall, the whole house has everything you have at home. We lacked nothing.
The garden/conservatory/terrace. Everything super beautiful and well-maintained.
The bathroom and everything else was clean and tidy. There was nothing to complain about.
We will definitely come back.

Beautiful holiday week in a special accommodation
We really enjoyed our vacation in the dike house. We were there as a family with three children (two of whom are already adults). The dike house is very lovingly and personally furnished and has a wonderful atmosphere, to which particularly the view from the large kitchen window, the beautiful winter garden, and the nicely designed garden contribute. We found everything we needed; especially the kitchen is very well equipped. Everything was clean and tidy upon our arrival. We found everything as described on the homepage. The contact with the landlords was pleasant and reliable. The coastal towns are a bit distant, but that is well known and was no problem. We always looked forward to returning to the quiet Deichhaus in the evenings! We would book the Deichhaus again at any time.
